Chapter 388 – 198: The Prerequisites for Flame Walker (Legendary) (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

“Hmm? Don’t tell me, Lord Reine, you’re a wild…” Naya’s beautiful eyes widened, and her fair little hand covered her mouth as she spoke.

She quickly realized that Rein was most likely an untamed Wizard Apprentice without a system inheritance.

Rein smiled wryly and said, “Miss Naya, being too clever is not necessarily a good thing for a lady.”

“Ah… I’m sorry, Lord Reine, please forgive my rudeness. It’s just that this is so surprising to me. I thought you must have a system inheritance. Otherwise, how could you have achieved such a high level of spiritual power at such a young age?”

System inheritance?

He had a system.

But not an inheritance… Rein grumbled inwardly.

“But rest assured, although we come from a Magician family, we are still quite familiar with the process for a Wizard Apprentice to become a Wizard.”

“Oh? Could Miss Naya enlighten me?” Rein raised an eyebrow, suppressing the excitement in his heart, and spoke in the calmest tone he could manage.

“Of course, Lord Reine, you’ve been such a great help to me. We’re friends now, aren’t we?” Naya smiled, revealing a row of pearly white teeth.

“However, if you don’t mind, I’ll start with the qualifications of a Wizard. Afterwards, I’ll talk about the process of becoming a formal Wizard. Would that be alright?”

“Of course, that would be fine.” Rein couldn’t help but smile.

He was in dire need of knowledge about witchcraft, and since Naya was willing to elaborate, he was eager to learn.

Perhaps, this was Naya’s intention all along.

It seemed she knew he had no Wizard inheritance, so she planned to explain things in more detail. Rein had a hunch about her intentions.

“Wizard qualifications encompass various aspects, but the type and degree of elemental affinity, the strength of spiritual power, and so on, are all important factors…” Naya spoke eloquently.

A few minutes went by, and Rein nodded repeatedly as he listened.

It was no wonder she came from a Magician family; Naya easily clarified several issues that had previously troubled Rein.

Like the matter of Wizard qualifications.

Naya explained it quite clearly.

Initially, Rein thought that the degree of elemental affinity and the strength of spiritual power, perhaps coupled with the speed of learning basic meditation, were the combined essence of Wizard qualifications.

But now it seemed that wasn’t the case.

These visible traits were like the reach and weight of a boxer from his past life.

A long reach could at least be considered decent boxing talent, but it was only one factor; boxing talent also included punch speed, punching power, reaction speed, and so on.

Wizard qualifications were the same.

And the high or low level of Wizard qualifications, much like a boxer’s talent, didn’t guarantee who would be stronger in battle—it only meant there was a greater likelihood of a strong individual emerging.

Often, it’s difficult to judge the more hidden qualities, such as an individual’s understanding, insight, and ability to innovate in witchcraft, which are numerous and varied.

Naya smiled faintly, showing two dimples as she brushed a strand of black hair from her ear and continued:

“As for advancing from a Wizard Apprentice to a Wizard, the first step is to clearly identify your elemental affinity, which will influence the choice of fixed witchcraft model when you advance.”

Fixed witchcraft model?

Rein was slightly puzzled; this was a new term.

Just as he was about to ask for more details on this subject, Naya countered:

“Lord Reine, I see your spiritual power is at least at the level of a second-tier Wizard Apprentice. You must have already identified your elemental affinity, right?”

“Well…”

Naya’s question made Rein smile awkwardly.

After thinking it over, Rein decided to be honest since she already knew his situation. There was no point in hiding anything, so he said, “Uh… well… I only know that one of my affinities is relatively high with the Fire Element. The other, I’m not quite sure about.”

Naya paused and then smiled sweetly, “Lord Reine, please follow me so I can test you. I think we should clarify your affinity first.”

“Thank you!” Rein was more than willing to have someone help test his elemental affinity.

Perhaps Naya could also explain what those mysterious silver energy particles he had sensed with his spiritual power were.

With these thoughts, Rein felt a hint of anticipation within him.

He immediately followed Naya out of the library.

Soon, their figures side by side, gradually disappeared down the corridor.

As for Naya, under normal circumstances she wouldn’t have had the authority to bring a stranger into the family’s library or use the family’s witchcraft tools to measure a stranger’s elemental affinity.

However, since Naya had come of age recently and been identified as having an extremely high bloodline concentration, her status within the family had risen sharply.

Now, Naya’s position could be said to be second only to that of the Usman family patriarch—her father.

All the privileges mentioned beforehand had naturally become available to her.

“Just ahead is my father’s study; there’s a testing Crystal Ball inside,” Naya explained.

“A testing Crystal Ball, is it the round type of crystal ball?” Rein couldn’t help asking.

He also had one of those, a trophy he had obtained from Adams last time.

“Huh? Lord Reine, you know about the testing Crystal Ball? Round? No, no, the one in our family is a faceted crystal, which is a bit more accurate than the crystal ball you mentioned,” Naya replied.
