Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2889: Chapter 2890: Hasty

Angel, although inclined to rank Lady Laplace at the Fourth Level, cannot make this decision immediately and needs to wait a bit longer.

Therefore, while discussing the Wilderness of Dreams with Lady Laplace, he mostly focuses on the Second Level, occasionally mentioning information related to the Third Level.

On the other side, since entering the Crystal Origin of Dreams, Lady Laplace guessed that Angel must be hiding an enormous secret. Especially after witnessing the Dream Conch’s unlimited provision of Transmutation, she became even more convinced of this. When Angel began to talk about the Wilderness of Dreams, Lady Laplace had a premonition that what Angel was going to say would be astonishing, but she still didn’t expect it to be this extraordinary.

This is completely an ”extra-reality world” reliant on the real world!

Yes, the ”extra-reality world” is Lady Laplace’s summarized understanding of the Wilderness of Dreams.

Imagine logging in from anywhere in the world and arriving at the same place, even if separated by tens of thousands of miles, what kind of surreal meeting is this?

This world has never lacked the pain of separation, even for Wizards. Many times, you believe there will be a next meeting, but distances are long, and the future is uncertain. What you think might just be a fantasy. Now, two people who thought they’d never meet again can reunite through the Wilderness of Dreams.

Isn’t this an extra-reality world?

And what Angel mentioned about the Wilderness of Dreams is not limited to simple functions like the ease of information transmission and convenience of meeting.

Through Angel’s descriptions, Lady Laplace realized that the Wilderness of Dreams and the Crystal Origin of Dreams might belong to the same type of crevice world.

Lady Laplace has never been to the Wilderness of Dreams, but the Crystal Origin of Dreams... She’s here now.

She has witnessed everything since the birth of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Following the homology theory of the Wilderness of Dreams and the Crystal Origin of Dreams, whatever the Crystal Origin can achieve, the Wilderness of Dreams likely can as well. With this association, isn’t it possible to control the Dream Conch to, like the Transmutations, provide endless Extraordinary Items to the Wilderness of Dreams?

This is terrifying; just thinking about it reveals the enormous potential benefits and manipulable space it contains.

Take this as an example, Lady Laplace played with the Transmutations to the extreme.

Previously, she had no opportunity to use Transmutation, nor could she waste it recklessly; but in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, she treated Transmutation as if it had no cost, frivolously using it without restraint.

This constant use allowed Lady Laplace to think more about how to use Transmutation, even mastering control over its explosive level.

If forced to use Transmutation in reality in the future, her control and utilization of Transmutation would be far superior to before. If it came down to a fighting point, even a slight improvement could determine the battle’s victory or defeat. Therefore, improving Transmutation’s utilization rate and fully developing its effectiveness can indirectly enhance Lady Laplace’s power, equivalent to enhancing her survival ability.

And she’s only scratched the surface in applying Transmutation, reaping immense rewards.

To see the essence through this example is enough to reveal the value of the Wilderness of Dreams.

Even without mentioning it, Lady Laplace already thought of applications like ”Infinite Alchemy” and ”unlimited transcendental experiments.”

Verification with Angel confirmed for Lady Laplace the terrifying potential of the Wilderness of Dreams.

Simultaneously, she became curious about the creator of the Wilderness of Dreams—Angel.

Even though Angel avoided mentioning the creator of the Wilderness of Dreams in his narrative, Lady Laplace wasn’t foolish. The birth of the Crystal Origin of Dreams was witnessed by her, undoubtedly Angel’s handiwork. The Wilderness of Dreams was likely created by Angel too.

How did Angel conceive it? How did he accomplish it?

Creating such a complete world solely with a Dream Conch is impossible.

If the Dream Conch was so valuable, countless Wizards in the past wouldn’t have rated it as the most useless Mysterious Object.

It can only be said that the Dream Conch found new life in Angel’s hands. The Dream Conch isn’t the key; Angel is.

Other questions that Angel could answer were answered, but regarding this point, he remains silent.

Even if Lady Laplace guessed Angel as the mastermind, Angel only smiled, vaguely deflecting.

Lady Laplace realized perhaps this involves Angel’s secret techniques.

Lady Laplace, as Destiny’s Chosen of the Mirror World, has her secrets that are not easily shared, so she understands Angel’s sudden reticence to speak.

Lady Laplace is not ungrateful. Angel already let her use Transmutation freely this time, plus revealing this astounding secret, which is enough to repay her assistance in Angel’s battle.

Therefore, Angel’s unwillingness to speak was not further pursued by her. Instead, she turned the topic to trivial matters: ”Wilderness of Dreams? This name makes it feel like a continuation of the Crystal Origin of Dreams. You probably picked this name, didn’t you?”

Angel: ”Depends on how you see it.”

Lady Laplace: ”???” Even for this question, you’re going to be vague?

Facing Lady Laplace’s confusion, Angel earnestly said, ”If you think the name is well-chosen, then I picked it. If you think the name isn’t great, then a group brainstormed it together.”

Lady Laplace: ”...Didn’t expect you to have unscrupulous moments. However, even if you say a group came up with it, I’d still say the name isn’t good.”

Angel choked, and after a while, murmured, ”It’s not advisable to judge a book by its cover.”

Lady Laplace: ”Some things, seeing the cover is enough to see the contents.”

Angel: ”...I picked the name for the Crystal Origin of Dreams just now. It hasn’t been widely spread yet, still has room for change. If Lady Laplace has any better names, feel free to suggest them.”

Angel tossed the ball back to Lady Laplace. She could have directly refused, but she hesitated a bit, didn’t refuse immediately, making refusal now seem timid.

So, Laplace really pondered seriously for a moment about how she would name it if she were to do so.

However, in the end, Laplace did not manage to come up with any name.

It’s not that Laplace couldn’t think of one; she had many beautiful names in her memory that she could use, but she chose not to say them.

She vaguely sensed that giving a name to this space was not a meaningless act. It was like the true name of a Demon God, representing a form of self-recognition.

If she truly wanted to name it, she might be stealing that recognition.

Laplace inexplicably felt confident that if she really wanted to steal it, she could... She didn’t know where this confidence came from, but it was there in her heart.

Realizing this, Laplace decided she couldn’t answer the question carelessly.

After careful thought, Laplace chose to hold back.

The matter of stealing self-recognition was hard to gauge in size. If it was just a trivial matter, it didn’t really matter; but if it involved the future or even the ownership of this space, then it was a big deal. Stealing the right to recognition would mean altering the fundamental nature of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

The Crystal Origin of Dreams might be good, but the secrets hidden within it were known only to Angel.

Even if she did steal the recognition, Laplace didn’t think she could use it as freely as Angel does.

Moreover, even if she stole the Dream Conch, it would actually be useless. In other people’s hands, the Dream Conch is useless, a dusty treasure; only Angel makes it shine. And Laplace doesn’t think she could, like Angel, wipe away the dust from the Dream Conch if it fell into her hands.

Furthermore, Laplace never intended to offend Angel.

Still, although Laplace chose to hold back and not name, she didn’t want to be misunderstood as having no naming talent: ”I thought it over carefully, you asked me to name it just to pick on it. Even if I come up with a beautiful name, if you want to find fault, you could still find it. So there’s no need for me to cooperate.”

Laplace felt she responded quite well.

However, after waiting for a long time, Laplace did not hear a reply. She curiously turned her head to look, only to find Angel seemingly completely oblivious to her words, staring at the sky with a puzzled expression.

Laplace followed Angel’s gaze up, but saw only the spider creatures continuing to weave their net, no other abnormalities.

Laplace asked curiously, ”What are you looking at?”

Angel lowered his brows and murmured, ”Nothing.”

Laplace didn’t believe him, but since Angel didn’t want to say, she couldn’t force it out of him. She could only mutter softly, moving past the little episode.

Laplace felt she could brush this aside, but Angel was still mulling over the scene he had witnessed earlier.

When Angel asked Laplace for a name, he vaguely felt some hindrance in the operation of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

As he carefully investigated, he found the source of the hindrance... spider creatures.

When he raised his head to look at the group of spider creatures, they all stopped their web-weaving work, lowered their ”fish heads,” and gazed toward the safe zone with lifeless fish eyes.

However, the spider creatures completely ignored Angel’s gaze; all their attention was fixed on Laplace.

It seemed that as long as Laplace said one word, the spider creatures would stir up big trouble.

Being stared at by six spiders’ eyes, while Laplace had evidently not broken her scale transformation, she felt nothing, as if isolated from the outside atmosphere, deep in her own thoughts.

Meanwhile, Angel knew Laplace was contemplating on how to rename the Crystal Origin of Dreams...

Angel’s heart skipped, was it due to the name?

If Laplace really intended to rename it, would the will of the Mirror World deem her an invader of the Crystal Origin of Dreams?

This thought was baseless but somehow Angel felt it might be the truth.

After all, Laplace was the ”Destiny’s Chosen” of the Mirror World; her every move influenced many things.

Thinking of this, Angel couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat... he seemed to have asked Laplace about something he shouldn’t have.

Luckily, in the end, Laplace chose to give up naming.

It was also the moment Laplace abandoned the naming idea that the spiders in the sky resumed their web-weaving, as if the previous eerie gaze fixed on Laplace was just an illusion...

Although the matter turned out to be a false alarm, Angel was truly scared out of his wits.

Angel remained silent, not arguing against Laplace’s sarcasm, but quietly noted to himself: Name expansion plans for the Wilderness of Dreams cautiously; treat naming matters with care, better not bring them up casually.

...

The naming issue was not discussed any further, and Angel brought up the topic of the Wilderness of Dreams again, this time talking about its customs and geography.

”There’s a fairy in the Wilderness of Dreams? Tree Civilization?” Laplace’s eyes flashed with curiosity: ”A tree spanning heaven and earth, sounds a bit like the ’Root World.’ But in the Root World, only green-skinned underground people are born, nothing like the bizarre Dream Plant Fairies you describe.”

”You’re interested in Dream Plant Fairies?” Angel asked casually.

Laplace nodded without denying: ”A bit interested, a fairy species born of the Dream Realm; I wonder what they would be like.”

After a pause, Laplace added: ”I’ve always wanted to create a Temporal Body in the form of a fairy, but unfortunately, I’ve never succeeded. If you enter the Forest of Memories, you’ll see there are quite a few Temporal Body models based on the fairies from Genoa.”

—Genoa is the frontier Aquapolis of the Wunong Duchy and also the famous Fairy Capital.

”After countless failures, I finally chose to create Laplace.”

”Creating Laplace?” Angel looked inquisitively at the ’Laplace’ in front of him.

Laplace: ”Not me, but my Temporal Body, Laplace.”

Angel was dazed for a long moment before realizing that Laplace was referring to the ”Rabbit Girl” among the Three Temporal Bodies.

That Rabbit Girl is also called Laplace.

And the silver-haired, different-eyed woman in front of him is an ”Avatar” of Laplace’s main body.

”So, your curiosity is just because you wanted to use the appearance of the Dream Plant Fairy to construct a Temporal Body?” Angel asked.

Laplace did not deny it and nodded: ”Yes.”

”I think you shouldn’t be called Laplace, you should be called Warmwarm.” Angel murmured softly.

Laplace looked over puzzled: ”What?”

”Nothing, I was saying...” Angel originally wanted to find some excuse to brush it off, but suddenly, he seemed to sense something, his right eye flashed a green light, looking far away: ”I was saying, it seems like the time is almost here.”

...

The time is almost here?

Laplace was immediately intrigued and instinctively sensed the surroundings. However, even with the enhancement of the molting ability, Laplace found no changes around.

”How do you determine the timing?” Laplace curiously looked at Angel.

Angel’s response was to lower his head and remain silent.

Angel now somewhat understood Laplace’s character. Laplace would ask when curious but knew when to stop. If she sensed that Angel did not want to answer, she wouldn’t press further.

Therefore, facing Laplace’s question, even if Angel chose to remain silent, he need not worry about offending her.

And at this moment, Angel chose silence.

Mainly because this matter involved Fifth Level intelligence.

He based his judgment on whether the timing was right on... Nightmare Realm aura.

When the Nightmare Realm aura of the Crystal Origin of Dreams reaches a certain level, the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain will be born.

And what is this ”certain level”? It’s difficult to determine.

In the Wilderness of Dreams, the Nightmare Realm aura only dispersed over a small area, not even one-millionth of the Wilderness of Dreams, and the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain appeared.

In the Crystal Origin of Dreams, Angel couldn’t quantify it yet, but the Nightmare Realm aura should be dispersed over a larger area than in the Wilderness of Dreams.

Therefore, the ”threshold” might vary in different worlds.

Seeing Angel not answer, Laplace indeed didn’t pursue it further but changed the topic: ”Since you think the time has come, are you now planning to bring the Forest of Memories in?”

Angel: ”No rush yet.”

Angel closed his eyes, using God’s View to sense the birth area of the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain... very far from here.

After opening his eyes, Angel initially planned to go offline immediately to wait at the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain’s location.

However, when he looked up at Laplace, a thought came to mind: ”Do you... want to see other places?”

Laplace froze for a second, then asked in a puzzled tone: ”What do you mean?”

Angel: ”The Crystal Origin of Dreams is actually very large, wouldn’t you like to see other places? Perhaps, this opportunity may only come once.”

Only once? Laplace’s expression grew more puzzled.

This time, even before Laplace could ask why, Angel provided an answer: ”The Crystal Origin of Dreams is a newborn space, and it could shatter again at any moment, so there’s a certain probability that this opportunity is only once.”

Laplace understood this time, but according to Angel, as long as they withstand the Eliminator, the Crystal Origin of Dreams will stabilize, and now only the Spider Magic Monster remains. Using the Forest of Memories to deal with the Spider Magic Monster, won’t the Crystal Origin of Dreams be preserved? Why then would it shatter?

Laplace intended to ask Angel about it, but before she could speak, Angel said: ”Whether you want to go or not is up to you. If you don’t want to, you can stay in the safe zone; if you want to see other places, you can go offline first.”

”Going offline is simple, just try to activate the dormant energies in the Mind Space.”

As his words fell, Angel’s figure began to fade and quickly disappeared from the Crystal Origin of Dreams, clearly returning to reality.

After pondering for a moment, Laplace decided to try as Angel suggested. Whether or not she ends up visiting other places in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, at least she should try whether this ”offline” can work.

Prior to this, when Angel spoke about the Wilderness of Dreams, Laplace had already understood the concepts of login, online, and offline. These terms were not conventional word formations, but understanding them was not difficult.

And going offline means leaving the Crystal Origin of Dreams and returning to the external world.

”I just need to activate the dormant energies in the Mind Space?” Laplace muttered softly, then closed her eyes and entered the Mind Space as Angel suggested.

Unlike a Human Wizard’s Mind Space, Laplace’s Mind Space was not a void, nor did it have any Psychic Model. It was filled with mirrors in all directions — above, below, and around.

In each mirror, there was a human figure.

Upon closer inspection, Bard Luigi, Astrologer Glaipnir, and the Rabbit Girl Laplace could all be seen in these mirrors.

In the past, Laplace could directly connect with her Temporal Bodies through these mirrors.

However, upon arriving in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, these mirrors became deathly still, and Aggregation Energy couldn’t be called upon.

Now, having re-entered the Mind Space, Laplace began to ponder: what does it mean to activate dormant energy?

Unable to call Aggregation Energy, how could she activate it?

After thinking for a moment, Laplace attempted to merge her Consciousness with the Aggregation Energy.

Then, activate the Aggregation Energy through consciousness.

The result... still ineffective.

However, although she hadn’t succeeded in activating Aggregation Energy, she faintly sensed a familiar place: the Dream Bridge.

Upon sensing the Dream Bridge, Laplace became contemplative.

After a while, she gathered all her consciousness together and surged toward the Dream Bridge.

In the next second, Laplace felt the surrounding world change dramatically, like a watercolor painting drenched in water, quickly fading.

As all the colors faded, Laplace had entirely left the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

She slowly opened her eyes and the familiar aura of the reflection space surrounded her... the previously dormant Aggregation Energy in the Mind Space also returned to normal.

Connections with her Temporal Bodies like Luigi, Glaipnir, etc., also resumed.

Though everything had been restored to its usual state, there was a faint trace of loss in Laplace’s expression.

In truth, the feeling of being enveloped by the molting was quite pleasant... Now back in reality, the molting had vanished. Even though she donned a new dress, Laplace felt that without the tight confinement of the molting, she was less secure.

As Laplace compared the differences between the Mirror World and the Crystal Origin of Dreams, a familiar voice came to her ear.

”Are you ready?”

Laplace looked up to see Angel in the distance extending an invitation to her.

Laplace paused, then realized that Angel’s invitation was to see the sights of other places in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Laplace hesitated for a moment: ”Go now? How do we go?”

Angel: ”Just sleep again and you’ll arrive.”

Does this mean going offline and then back online? But would going online allow her to visit different areas of the Crystal Origin of Dreams? Laplace was puzzled.

Though Laplace found it somewhat strange, she didn’t ask but instead looked at the ”bonsai” next to her.

”Aren’t you taking the Forest of Memories inside?”

Angel: ”The timing for the Forest of Memories to enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams needs to wait a little longer.”

Laplace gave Angel a suspicious glance but eventually nodded: ”Alright.”

Angel smiled slightly, then reached out to touch Laplace’s forehead with his finger once more.

Laplace did not resist, allowing the Dream Entering Technique to take effect.

Seconds later, Laplace returned to the Dream Bridge.

At this moment, Laplace was no longer as unfamiliar with the Dream Bridge, and following it forward, she quickly saw the familiar Door.

”Should I go in?” Although there was no one around, Laplace still asked.

After a brief silence, Angel’s voice came: ”Yes, come on, the scenery here is much better than the previous place.”

From Angel’s tone, her current online position was no longer in the safe zone?

What was going on? How had Angel managed it?

With these doubts, Laplace stepped forward...
