Chapter 2269: Chapter 2270: Spatial Tempest

Angel now understood that six hundred years ago, when Nami Midori suddenly entered seclusion, it wasn’t because Feng gave guidance but because Nami Midori felt that the opportunity for a breakthrough was in someone else’s hands, which made him discontent.

From this point of view, Nami Midori is indeed a snake with great ambition.

However, is the so-called opportunity for breakthrough really ”in someone else’s hands”? This is not necessarily the case, because Angel is very sure that he definitely cannot guide Nami Midori nor provide much help. Perhaps the breakthrough opportunity for Nami Midori doesn’t refer to Angel as a person, but the timing of Angel’s arrival.

If calculated this way, Nami Midori’s opportunity for breakthrough isn’t reliant on someone else; it is still in his own hands.

Angel expressed his thoughts out loud.

Nami Midori, however, shook his head silently, choosing not to speak and instead slowly raised his head to continue gazing at the vast starry sky.

Angel could clearly see a trace of sorrow in Nami Midori’s sparkling golden eyes, the look of discontent still lingering, merely hidden in the depths of his eyes.

After a long while, Nami Midori lowered his head, breaking the silence in the air: ”As for my matters, since the Chapter of fate has already destined the ending, I will temporarily watch to see how it unfolds. Now, let’s talk about you.”

”Me?”

”Yes, you.”

Angel pondered for a moment, and first gave a simple self-introduction. Then, Angel prepared to display the contents of the trilogy to Nami Midori to show his intent. However, he no longer had a ready-made Shadow Box trilogy, so he simply used an Illusion Technique to present the contents of the trilogy.

After watching the trilogy, Nami Midori didn’t say anything, but Parry Mountains beside them expressed anger first.

”Humans not only want to occupy the Tidal World but also want to enslave the Elemental Sprites? This is unacceptable, I disagree!”

Angel did not respond but instead watched Nami Midori, wanting to see what his opinion might be.

Nami Midori’s eyes didn’t show any fluctuation; he calmly said: ”Do as you said, I will not stop you.”

”Master!” Parry Mountains looked at Nami Midori with a face full of confusion.

Nami Midori hissed softly, turning to look at Parry Mountains: ”You object strongly? So, do you want the life of the Tidal World to start full-scale war with human wizards?”

Parry Mountains was stunned for a moment, shaking its branches: ”I didn’t mean war; why can’t we maintain the current situation?”

Nami Midori: ”Feng already said long ago that it is inevitable; human entry into the Tidal World is only a matter of time, a fate written into history three thousand years ago. There aren’t many choices for the life of the Tidal World, only resistance or fusion.”

Seeing Parry Mountains still with a face of disbelief, Nami Midori calmly said: ”Of course, there are other choices, but the premise is having power as dazzling as the starlit.”

Parry Mountains stood still for a long time, speechless.

Nami Midori then looked at Angel: ”Besides these trivial matters, do you have unfinished words? For instance, the treasure.”

Angel didn’t deny it, nodding: ”Yes, I am also interested in the treasure. I want to know, what exactly is the treasure Mr. Feng referred to.”

Nami Midori: ”I don’t know what the treasure is either. However, Mr. Feng once said that the treasure is a form of reward.”

”Reward?” Angel didn’t quite understand what this meant.

”Mr. Feng never explained,” Nami Midori calmly said, ”But I can be certain that the treasure is something he was unwilling to part with but had to leave behind.”

Unwilling to part with means that, in Feng’s eyes, these treasures are also very precious.

Angel recalled that when he was at Malaya Ice Mountain, Frost Iser had also said that Feng felt heartache for a long time after leaving the treasure there. Even as he left the Tidal World, he couldn’t help but look back at the place where the treasure was located.

Angel was also somewhat curious about what kind of treasure could make Feng care so much.

”His Highness Frost once told me that the treasure is located in the Void corresponding to the center of the world. Do you know where this refers to?” Angel asked.

Nami Midori: ”If you want to know where the treasure is, then follow me.”

With those words, Nami Midori gently tapped the ground with his slender tail, and a giant emerald vine rose from the ground.

The vine rapidly ascended into the sky, finally reaching above the clouds, where it bloomed into a brilliant flower at the top.

When the vine stopped growing, Nami Midori leisurely stepped onto the vine’s leaves.

Nami Midori signaled with his eyes for Angel to follow.

Angel didn’t act immediately but instead glanced at Parry Mountains, who, after Nami Midori mentioned ”choices,” was lost in its thoughts.

”Don’t mind it,” Nami Midori said.

Angel also didn’t want to care about Parry Mountains, but he had already agreed with Parry Mountains beforehand, and Parry Mountains, left here alone, couldn’t withstand the pressure.

Angel explained the situation, and Nami Midori took a deep look at Angel, saying nothing, but instead manipulated the force of nature to create a flying blossom-like shield around Parry Mountains.

With the shield’s protection, Parry Mountains would no longer be affected by the pressure.

After doing all this, Angel nodded gently at the now-recovered Parry Mountains, then stepped onto the vine’s leaves.

Under Parry Mountains’ complex gaze, the leaf, like an elevator, slowly ascended from the bottom, continuously surpassing linear distances, and finally reached the cloud top.

At the highest point of the vine, what Angel saw from below was a brilliant flower.

But upon arriving here, he discovered it wasn’t a single flower, but countless flowers gathered together. These flowers, though growing on the vine, were surrounded by swirling mist, resembling a sea of flowers in the clouds, wrapping the scene in a dreamlike beauty.

Nami Midori swam between the flowers and clouds, finally bringing Angel to a room made of tiny vines.

The vine room was not very secure, with many gaps through which the starlight and moonlight penetrated, shedding a silvery-gray light on the ground. The high clouds also took advantage of the opportunity to whistle through the gaps, making Angel’s robe flutter in the wind.

The vine room was not large, only five meters square, with no other furnishings inside. Aside from the vines, the only item was a painting hanging at the far end.

The content of the painting was a golden-eyed green snake gazing at the starry sky.

Judging from the hundred flowers blooming beneath the snake, there was no doubt that this snake was Nami Midori. As for who painted this picture, one needn’t guess—it could only be Feng.

Angel originally thought Nami Midori brought him to the top of the vines to prepare to go with him beyond the void to find the treasure’s location. But unexpectedly, Nami Midori brought him to see Feng’s painting.

Could it be that there is something peculiar about Feng’s painting?

Just like the painting in the realm of fire, could it hide a miniature passageway?

Angel instinctively wanted to approach the painting to look for something odd in it, but just as he got close, the cool, clear voice of Nami Midori sounded in his ear.

”If you don’t want to be torn apart by a Spatial Tempest, you’d better not touch the painting now.”

Angel turned back, puzzled, looking at Nami Midori: ”Spatial Tempest?”

A Spatial Tempest isn’t a real storm, but a common disaster in the void. Occasionally, a spatial collapse occurs in the void. Once a coordinate collapses, it rapidly spreads, causing other places to collapse as well, like a chain storm, hence the name Spatial Tempest.

Spatial Tempests generally only occur in the void. The internal world’s space properties are more stable, and unless disturbed by humans, it’s difficult to cause a spatial collapse.

For this reason, Angel couldn’t understand why Nami Midori said there was a Spatial Tempest ahead?

Nami Midori slowly explained: ”That painting was slightly modified by Mr. Feng six hundred years ago, turned into a spatial passage. Touching it leads to the void behind the passage.”

Angel looked at the painting, his eyes flashing with surprise: ”This painting is actually a spatial passage?”

Nami Midori: ”Earlier, you asked where the void corresponding to the world’s center is, right? Yes, it’s behind the painting.”

”If the opposite of the painting’s spatial passage leads to the void corresponding to the world’s center, then what about the Spatial Tempest? Also, how would you know there’s a Spatial Tempest behind it?” Angel was a bit puzzled.

Nami Midori didn’t answer Angel’s question directly, but instead said calmly: ”You’ll know soon.”

And so, they waited until early morning.

When the moon hung high in the sky, and the soft moonlight streamed in along the gaps of the vine house, Nami Midori finally said: ”It’s time.”

Without waiting for Angel to ask, Nami Midori swayed her serpent body and moved toward the oil painting.

Upon reaching the oil painting, Nami Midori did not stop but continued in an elegant manner, crashing directly into the painting.

The painting showed no sign of collision, instead, it turned into water-like ripples. Nami Midori directly entered the ripples and disappeared.

Seeing this, Angel did not hesitate. He secretly signaled Earl Mi to activate the strongest protection barrier, then followed suit, crashing into it.

With a feeling of weightlessness, Angel disappeared from the vine house and arrived in a world of darkness.

Neither sky above nor ground below. Coupled with familiar spatial fluctuations, Angel could confirm that this was indeed the void.

Nami Midori was nearby, emitting a faint green glow, like a green light in the darkness, guiding Angel’s direction.

Angel approached Nami Midori.

As he got close, he heard Nami Midori say, ”Look over there.”

Following Nami Midori’s gaze, Angel looked in the indicated direction.

In the lightless void, it was hard to see anything with the naked eye. But perception extends beyond sight.

Due to the void’s immaterial purity, there’s no need for spiritual power; one can just learn a special observation method peculiar to the void to perceive surroundings through feedback from fluctuations.

Angel perceived terrifying fluctuations in the direction Nami Midori was looking.

The feedback of perceived fluctuations was like a raging storm, threatening to obliterate everything completely.

That was indeed a Spatial Tempest!

However, unlike the Spatial Tempests Angel encountered before, this one was continuously shrinking, as if it was dissipating.

Yet, as soon as this thought arose, the Spatial Tempest expanded rapidly from its shrinking state.

Moreover, the expansion speed was incredibly fast; the endless Spatial Tempest began to spread madly.

”Retreat quickly,” Nami Midori’s voice sounded.

Without needing Nami Midori’s reminder, Angel had already retreated with Nami Midori to an area the Spatial Tempest could not encroach upon.

The Spatial Tempest spread rapidly, and when Angel steadied himself, he saw that the area they had previously occupied had been claimed by the Spatial Tempest.

In other words, the void coordinates corresponding to the passage in the painting had, at this point, become the playground of the raging Spatial Tempest.
