Chapter 2265: Chapter 2266: Questions and Answers

No qualification.

Parry Mountains spoke very decisively. Angel thought it involved class solidification, or some other hidden affair, but after hearing Parry Mountains’ subsequent explanation, he realized the reason was actually very simple.

It was just lack of strength.

Parry Mountains and Nami Midori were born in the same era, and their birthplace was in Lost Forest. Therefore, they have been familiar with each other since the elf era.

However, due to differences in talent and later different encounters, their ultimate strengths were worlds apart.

But the issue of strength did not affect their friendship, as seen from Parry Mountains living in Lost Forest all along.

Moreover, a long time ago, Parry Mountains even resided in the center of Lost Forest.

It was just that six hundred years ago, Nami Midori suddenly told Parry Mountains it was going into seclusion to break through to a higher level. Naturally, Parry Mountains supported Nami Midori’s decision, but as Nami Midori entered seclusion, a majestic momentum spread out from its place of retreat.

Originally, Lost Forest already had a powerful aura, which Parry Mountains could ignore with its own power. But now, the pressure increasingly intensified and seemed endless, and Parry Mountains began to feel strained.

Parry Mountains couldn’t possibly go find the secluded Nami Midori to discuss it, and could only endure.

Parry Mountains persevered for over three hundred years, but in the end, it couldn’t withstand the increasingly terrifying pressure and retreated from the core of Lost Forest, dwelling in this area.

Previously, Parry Mountains knew that the pressure aura emitted by Nami Midori was actually an aura unconsciously released when power surpassed a certain limit.

Although Nami Midori could restrain the aura, it was very exhausting.

Because of this, Nami Midori chose to stay away from the bustle and live alone in Lost Forest because it didn’t have to deliberately control the pressure, thus avoiding troubling its kin.

Parry Mountains’ self-mockery of having ”no qualification” was because it understood: if it couldn’t withstand the pressure aura unconsciously released by Nami Midori, what qualification did it have to stay in the center of Lost Forest?

As for Angel.

In Parry Mountains’ view, Angel’s strength was much weaker than its own, even less qualified to enter.

After hearing Parry Mountains’ words, Angel wasn’t angry. He calmly said, ”There’s a truth in what you say. On the energy level, I am indeed inferior to you.”

”However, Wizards are people skilled at creating miracles. If the energy level isn’t sufficient, various other means can compensate for it.”

”Exhausting~” Parry Mountains snorted with laughter, ”You mean to say, you can overcome Lord Nami Midori’s pressure with your so-called wizard means?”

”I don’t intend to overcome the pressure, and I can’t overcome it. I just need to be able to move freely within it.”

Parry Mountains noticed that Angel’s expression was exceptionally calm. This kind of calmness would normally be fine, but to maintain such a peaceful demeanor in this particular setting showed that Angel had absolute confidence.

At least, Angel was confident that he could carry out what he said. That is, he had a way to move within Nami Midori’s pressure.

Since Parry Mountains lived in Lost Forest, it was naturally not unfamiliar with the Savior. It also knew that Wizards had numerous means. When Mr. Feng saved the Tidal World from the Great Calamity, it wasn’t because his ability had surpassed the world itself, but because he had many miraculous methods.

Therefore, while Parry Mountains feigned ridicule, in its heart, it somewhat believed that Angel, as a wizard, might truly have some means to move freely under the pressure.

”Even if you can withstand the pressure, I will not allow you to continue forward.”

When Parry Mountains spoke to this point, the determination in its eyes was almost tangible.

Although it did not explicitly say, Parry Mountains’ attitude had clearly shown: for Angel to enter the core of Lost Forest, he must pass this obstacle.

”I’ll say it again, seeing as it’s a kin of Kalomchis, you leave now, and I’ll pretend nothing happened,” Parry Mountains said.

”Then why can’t you let us in for Toby’s sake as well?” Angel said, ”How do you know that Lord Nami Midori doesn’t want to see us? Anyway, Toby is also a kin of Kalomchis, isn’t it?”

Parry Mountains naturally understood Angel’s words. If it were six hundred years ago, Parry Mountains wouldn’t have stopped Angel at all, but now that Nami Midori was in seclusion, Parry Mountains would allow no one to disturb it.

Angel noticed that although Parry Mountains didn’t reply, from its persistent gaze, Angel understood it hadn’t wavered.

Moreover, Angel believed that if he refused to leave, there would inevitably be a fierce battle ahead.

And the opponent would naturally be Parry Mountains.

Angel daring to approach Parry Mountains with Toby meant he didn’t fear a fight with Parry Mountains.

However, he also had to consider Nami Midori’s attitude.

In Parry Mountains’ narrative, its relationship with Nami Midori was very good. However, this was after all just its self-narration, possibly amplifying subjective emotions, and no one could determine its truthfulness; but, undeniably, Nami Midori allowing Parry Mountains to reside in Lost Forest indicated their relationship was quite deep.

If he fought with Parry Mountains, how would Nami Midori perceive it? Moreover, judging from Parry Mountains’ determined attitude, it might eventually turn into a deadly fight. After all, Parry Mountains is an Elemental Creature; if it saw the situation going badly and used self-destruction to stop Angel, it would be truly irreversible.

Therefore, Angel didn’t want to resort to violence.

”Have you made up your mind?” Parry Mountains asked, raising its voice slightly as it looked at the silent Angel.

Angel pondered for a moment and said, ”Before answering this question, can I ask you a few questions?”

Parry Mountains hesitated for a moment, unsure of what Angel intended, but after thinking it over, it didn’t refuse. Having lived here in solitude for centuries, it actually yearned for interaction with other beings. If Angel were not here for Nami Midori, it would be more willing to converse with him.

”You can, but questions I don’t want to answer, I won’t.”

”Of course, I respect your decision.” Angel paused for a moment and posed the first question: ”If Lord Nami Midori’s consciousness hasn’t completely slept and sensed my presence, do you think Lord Nami Midori would meet me?”

Parry Mountains remained silent. However, in its heart, it leaned towards ”meeting,” because the relationship between Nami Midori and Mr. Feng was deep, and since Angel was following in Feng’s footsteps, and Toby was a kin left behind by the joint ruler — Kalomchis, these two relationships would lead Nami Midori to choose to see Angel.

Seeing Parry Mountains’ silence, Angel didn’t mind and continued with the second question: ”Still the previous question, but with a presupposition. If it were six hundred years ago and not now, do you think Lord Nami Midori would meet me?”

This time, after a long silence, Parry Mountains nodded: ”Possibly.”

A smile tugged at Angel’s lips. In fact, the two questions he asked were essentially the same. He just wanted to judge the main reason for Parry Mountains’ resistance; meanwhile, he hoped Parry Mountains wouldn’t be too persistent in thinking from its own perspective and might consider things from Nami Midori’s angle.

Angel continued: ”Next question, if I enter the depths of the Lost Forest, do you think it will disturb Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion?”

Parry Mountains replied without hesitation: ”Of course it will.”

”What about you? If you enter the depths of the Lost Forest, will you disturb Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion?”

Parry Mountains hesitated for a while and said: ”Probably not, I’ve stayed in the depths of the Lost Forest for three hundred years, and I’ve never disturbed Lord Nami Midori.”

Upon hearing this answer, Angel gave a slight smile and said: ”Then if you and I enter the depths of the Lost Forest together, will it disturb Lord Nami Midori?”

”We go in together?” Parry Mountains furrowed its brows, not answering but instead asking, ”What exactly are you trying to say?”

Angel didn’t beat around the bush, directly stating: ”I know, the reason you don’t allow me to enter the Lost Forest is because you don’t trust me, you fear that I’ll disturb Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion.”

”Then I can go in with you, staying with you the entire time, and I won’t do anything from start to finish.”

”What do you think about that?”

Parry Mountains pondered for a moment. Angel actually understood very well; indeed, it did not trust Angel. But if Angel were by its side the entire time, it seemed acceptable.

However, even if Angel followed it into the depths of the Lost Forest, Parry Mountains was certain it wouldn’t lead Angel to where Lord Nami Midori was secluded.

So, Parry Mountains was a bit puzzled: ”What’s the point of doing that?”

Angel: ”What’s the point? How about recalling the first question I asked you?”

The first question... If Nami Midori was not truly asleep and perceived my presence, do you think Lord Nami Midori would see me?

Parry Mountains: ”...You want Lord Nami Midori to perceive your presence?”

Angel nodded: ”As I said before, if I enter the forest, I’ll follow you and won’t disturb Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion. But if he consciously perceives my presence and wishes to see me, you can’t stop that, right?”

This was Angel’s plan, and the premise of it all was that even though Nami Midori was secluded, he still reacted to the outside world.

Angel was also somewhat confident about this.

Earlier, Leaf Groot had clearly said that three hundred years ago, when it advanced to Monarch status, it had invited Nami Midori to the celebratory event. Although Nami Midori did not meet with Leaf Groot directly, he did send a congratulatory message.

Thus, it’s evident that although Nami Midori is in seclusion, he doesn’t entirely ignore world affairs.

Therefore, Angel reasoned that if he, as an ”outsider,” broke into Nami Midori’s alert zone, which is the depths of the Lost Forest, Nami Midori would definitely sense his presence.

As long as Nami Midori paid attention to him, Angel was confident that Nami Midori would come to meet him.

Parry Mountains thought about it, feeling that Angel’s proposal was actually quite good, but it still hesitated: ”Letting Nami Midori perceive your presence is, in itself, disturbing Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion.”

Angel: ”According to that logic, the fact that you spent a long time in the core of the Lost Forest is also disturbing Lord Nami Midori’s seclusion, isn’t it? Double standards are unacceptable.”

At this point, Parry Mountains had nothing to say, but it still did not immediately make a decision.

Angel, seeing this, muttered softly with apparent helplessness: ”Is it really right to make decisions for others under the guise of concern? Can you be certain that when Lord Nami Midori awakens from seclusion, knowing that Toby and I were chased away by you, he will agree with your approach?”

Parry Mountains listened to Angel’s words.

It felt that what Angel said seemed correct, but doing so seemed to go against its initial insistence. Wait, what was its initial insistence?

Parry Mountains felt like it had been led into a loop by Angel.

In the end, it sighed deeply: ”Alright, I accept what you said.”

Angel immediately put away the heavy look and said with a cheerful smile: ”So shall we go now?”

Parry Mountains waved its branches: ”Even though I accept your viewpoint, to implement what you said, the premise is that we enter the depths of the Lost Forest together. But as I said before, I’m not qualified to enter.”

”I can grant you the qualification.” Angel: ”I can take you in.”

Parry Mountains was somewhat incredulous: ”Can you really take me into the depths of the Lost Forest?”

”Yes, I have a technique that makes the pressure ignore your presence.”

Parry Mountains: ”You’re not going to revoke that technique and kick me out once we enter the Lost Forest, are you?”

Angel: ”No, I can make an oath.”

Parry Mountains looked deeply at Angel: ”Alright, I trust you. No need for an oath, but if we do enter the depths of the Lost Forest, you can’t leave my sight at will.”

Angel laughed: ”Of course.”

...

Once the plan was settled, Parry Mountains didn’t hesitate and emerged straight out of the earth.

At this moment, Toby once again realized why Angel had previously said that Parry Mountains’ true form was definitely not small.

Parry Mountains extracted hundreds of meters of roots from the earth, and these roots were not just a single line; they resembled world-ending serpents, flaunting their presence as they writhed.

As these roots emerged from the earth, the entire ground shook and surged, as though a land dragon was flipping over.

After all the roots were pulled from the ground, Parry Mountains’ form began to rapidly change. First, its size shrunk, then its roots slowly entwined, eventually becoming two bizarre ”legs,” supporting Parry Mountains to stand and walk.

When it all ended, Parry Mountains had transformed into a treant about three meters tall.

And resembling Leaf Groot earlier, once in treant form, the wrinkles on Parry Mountains’ trunk visibly diminished, and colorful paint marks on the trunk made it look not only much younger but even a bit playful.

The treant Parry Mountains looked at Angel: ”Let’s go, I’ll take you to the depths of the Lost Forest.”
