Chapter 2254: Chapter 2255: Energy Convergence

Angel: ”Just wait a little longer, and you’ll see.”

Dumatin looked over with confusion. Angel’s answer wasn’t the problem; it was his tone that was strange, as if he was holding back some emotion that was about to burst forth.

Dumatin noticed that Angel wasn’t looking in his direction but was staring straight ahead, his eyes seemingly glowing.

Angel’s expression and tone were telling Dumatin that he was very excited at that moment.

Why was he excited? What was he expecting? Dumatin, who originally had doubts in his heart, was now replaced by curiosity.

The ”wait” that Angel mentioned didn’t take too long.

A dozen seconds later, Dumatin witnessed an astonishing scene!

A dim blue light flashed within the dark clouds, and immediately, the already torrential rain became even more violent.

Familiar energies emerged from the dark clouds and descended from the sky.

Shock flashed in Dumatin’s eyes, and with a thought, the surrounding rainwater coalesced into a floating water snake flying around him.

”Such intense water elemental energy, just a bit of magic power from a purification spell can trigger this gathering and shaping of water elemental energy!” Dumatin exclaimed.

This level of water energy intensity was comparable to the concentration near some lakes and seas in the Mirror World.

Though it could only be compared to the lakes and seas of the Mirror World, remember, this was the Wilderness of Dreams, where achieving such a high concentration of water energy was extremely rare!

During Dumatin’s time in the Wilderness of Dreams, he only experienced similar water power at the core of the Tide Wave Garden, which showed its uniqueness.

”Why is the water power here so dense?” Dumatin was puzzled when suddenly a flash of inspiration crossed his mind. He slowly lifted his head and looked at Angel.

Since arriving in the Wilderness of Dreams, including today, he had only interacted with Angel twice.

Angel wouldn’t bring him here for no reason, and thinking back to their last meeting, Dumatin seemed to understand a bit more.

”Did you encounter a water elemental creature?”

The clamor of the rain didn’t drown out Dumatin’s voice.

Angel didn’t speak because he could tell that although Dumatin phrased it as a question, his tone was very certain.

Dumatin didn’t mind Angel’s response because the current situation already indirectly confirmed his answer—

The concentration of water elemental energy in the distance suddenly doubled, the blue light shone brightly, and finally solidified into the outline of a figure.

Initially, it was just a water shadow, but as more light bands appeared seemingly from nowhere and infused into the water shadow, its outline became increasingly real.

”Node of the Law?” Dumatin remarked, surprised, as he observed the spontaneously appearing light bands, ”Why would a node of the Law appear here?”

Angel was unsure as well, but he didn’t delve into it since the water shadow nearby had fully materialized into its true form.

A cat with interwoven light and dark blue fur.

”A water elemental creature, it truly is a water elemental creature!” Dumatin murmured with a look of fascination as he observed the blue cat in the distance.

At this moment, Angel let out a long sigh of relief. He had been wondering whether a water elemental creature that entered the Wilderness of Dreams would appear with a physical body or an elemental body, and now it was confirmed to be an elemental body.

However, judging from the energy fluctuations emanating from the cat, it didn’t seem to possess its usual level of power as it did in the outside world; its strength likely exceeded that of the elf stage a bit.

This was to be expected, given that the energy level within the Wilderness of Dreams was still restricted.

After the cat appeared, it stayed still with its eyes closed. Angel sensed that the cat was absorbing the remaining node of the Law in the surroundings.

This had to be greatly beneficial for it; otherwise, it wouldn’t be so eager to absorb the node of the Law without first confirming the safety of its environment.

Angel didn’t disturb the cat; instead, he turned to look at the newcomers behind him.

—Lord Rhein and Ironclad Granny.

When the water shadow of the cat initially appeared, they had already flown over from the direction of New City. However, Angel, at that time, was too engrossed in witnessing the cat’s emergence to greet them immediately. Only now did he turn to salute.

After the salute, Angel curiously asked, ”Granny and Lord Rhein, what brings you here?”

Although the dark clouds rolled in and the rain fell in torrents, it wasn’t considered extreme weather, as this was commonplace. Moreover, the water elemental energy here appeared dense but not significant enough to be sensed from New City.

Given the current energy level of the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel didn’t believe that Lord Rhein and Ironclad Granny could perceive the changes in water energy from such a distance.

Therefore, Angel was also quite curious about their appearance.

Since Rhein’s gaze remained fixed on the distant cat, Angel first turned his attention to Ironclad Granny.

Ironclad Granny smiled kindly, ”I’ll let Rhein explain that question to you later.”

After a pause, Ironclad Granny pointed at the distant cat, ”Is that a water elemental creature?”

Angel nodded.

”The little fellow looks so charming and adorable,” Ironclad Granny remarked fondly, observing the cat with evident affection. ”Where did you coax it from?”

Angel: ”I encountered a water elemental creature during my travels and decided to try bringing it into the Wilderness of Dreams.”

A glint appeared in Ironclad Granny’s eyes, ”Elemental creatures can also be brought into the Wilderness of Dreams?”

Angel: ”It’s my first experiment as well, and I didn’t expect it to actually succeed.”

As they chatted casually, Rhein also returned from his trance-like state of observing the cat. Having heard Angel’s explanation, he laughed, ”You’re lucky to encounter a water elemental creature even halfway through.”

”But come to think of it, it does make sense. You should currently be near Edge Island, an area surrounded by ocean and adjacent to the Demon Sea Area, so it’s not unusual to occasionally encounter a couple of water elemental creatures.”

Rhein continued speculating to himself, and after hearing him out, Angel simply smiled without responding.

Looking at Angel’s expression, Lord Rhein raised an eyebrow: ”Did I guess wrong?”

Angel still didn’t answer, and this time Rhein was sure: ”It seems I did guess wrong. Did you discover this little guy in the inland waters?”

Angel: ”We can talk about this later. Right now, I’m very curious as to why Lord Rhein suddenly appeared here.”

Rhein gave Angel a deep look. From analyzing the details in Angel’s eyes, he felt like he had guessed wrong again. So it wasn’t the sea, nor the inland waters; where did Angel encounter such a pure water elemental creature?

Since Angel was unwilling to say now, Rhein also temporarily suppressed his inner questions: ”The reason I came here is very simple, because there was an anomaly at the Wizard’s Tower in Tide Wave Garden just now.”

”An anomaly?” Angel asked in confusion.

Rhein nodded and began to explain. It turned out that not long ago, Rhein and Ironclad Granny were exchanging insights on guarding ruins in the Rosewater Pavilion—ever since the Wilderness of Dreams, they almost always exchanged their daily insights here—when suddenly, Rhein noticed a massive flow of water elemental energy pouring out of Tide Wave Garden.

Upon inspecting Tide Wave Garden, Rhein noticed that the Wizard’s Tower, which housed the core of the laws, was brimming with water energy, intertwining with the changing celestial phenomena above.

Finding nothing amiss in the Wizard’s Tower, Rhein followed the direction where the water elemental laws were disappearing, and flew over.

They traced it here.

”So, the law patterns that made up this raccoon had actually originated from Tide Wave Garden.” Angel came to a sudden realization, which also solved a small puzzle from earlier.

At this moment, Dumatin also walked over from a distance: ”If the minimal requirement for forming elemental creatures in the Wilderness of Dreams is corresponding real-world law patterns, does that mean that only water elemental creatures can be brought into the Wilderness of Dreams, excluding other elemental attributes?”

Although Dumatin had not yet contacted elemental creatures, he was already in research mode.

Ever since Dumatin attempted to capture a ”flying fish” in Tide Wave Garden, Rhein knew that Dumatin intended to study the elemental creatures of the Wilderness of Dreams. In response to Dumatin’s question, Rhein pondered for a moment and nodded: ”There is indeed such a possibility.”

”Although Tide Wave Garden has been brought into the Wilderness of Dreams, and the core laws within are slowly merging with it, the laws still differ, and the water laws retain characteristics of reality’s laws.”

”If the Wilderness of Dreams must possess corresponding real-world laws to bring in corresponding elemental creatures, Dumatin’s speculation holds substantial possibility.”

Dumatin squinted: ”So it seems that to have various elemental creatures in the Wilderness of Dreams, more elemental attribute Witchcraft Gardens must be merged.”

Because the Dream Conch can only pull Witchcraft Gardens into dreams, it cannot directly manipulate real-world laws.

Rhein turned to Angel: ”When you return, I will find a way to take you to borrow a Witchcraft Garden from an old friend.”

Just then, Ironclad Granny suddenly spoke: ”Actually, what you’re saying is just a hypothesis. If there is a way, find another non-water elemental creature to enter the Wilderness of Dreams, and it will confirm whether real-world laws are needed to assist.”

Rhein also nodded: ”That’s true, but Angel is currently alone outside, and encountering a water elemental creature may already be fate’s favor. It might be difficult to encounter a second non-water elemental creature.”

As he finished speaking, Rhein suddenly paused: ”Right, there’s still Sanders. Sanders also knows the special Dream Entering Technique of your Illusion Demon Island line. He has non-water attribute elemental creatures; when he enters the Wilderness of Dreams, let him try.”

As Rhein felt he had found the key point, Angel quietly said beside him: ”... Why do you all think I wouldn’t encounter non-water elemental creatures?”

Angel’s words left everyone stunned.

Ironclad Granny looked over.

Dumatin: ”You mean...?”

Rhein inquired in surprise: ”You encountered a non-water elemental creature?”

Under everyone’s gaze, Angel slowly spoke, ”I...”

However, just after uttering the subject, Angel paused, his gaze shifting to a certain spot.

In the vast expanse of the wilderness, a solitary low shrub swayed unsteadily under the torrential rain. Beneath this unremarkable shrub, a fiery red shadow began to coalesce.

As the fiery red figure emerged, a fireball approximately the size of two adults slowly rose from the wet grass below, enveloping the fiery red shadow, and then slowly levitated.

The appearance of the large fireball instantly drew everyone’s attention.

”Why is there a fireball?” Everyone inwardly questioned.

And the large fireball, buffeted by the heavy rain, seemed on the verge of extinguishing at any moment.

In fact, Angel sensed that if the fireball continued to endure the downpour for much longer, it would completely dissipate in just one or two more minutes.

Angel knew that the fiery red shadow within the fireball was the Traveling Frog. If the fire extinguished while the Traveling Frog was forming its body, it might result in unimaginable consequences.

Therefore, Angel decided to intervene actively.

Directly manipulating the celestial phenomena wasn’t ideal at the moment since the raccoon was absorbing the remnants of the water elemental energy, and interrupting the rain could potentially hinder its absorption... After all, this was the raccoon’s chance, and Angel was curious to see what changes would occur once it absorbed the water elemental energy.

With this in mind, Angel decided not to alter the celestial phenomena but to set up an air barrier near the fireball.

Because such a water-repellent air barrier wasn’t too difficult to create, Angel instinctively prepared to manipulate the virtual magic power to construct the corresponding trick model.

The air barrier was successfully set up, shielding the heavy rain showering over the fireball, allowing the previously dimming fireball to brighten once again.

However, at this moment, Angel’s gaze wasn’t fixed on the air barrier and fireball but rather, he extended his hand and sensed the surroundings: ”The energy around seems to have weakened?”

As Angel’s words fell, everyone also began to experiment.

”The density of virtual magic power in this vicinity has not only weakened but has almost reached the point of disappearing.” Rhein said.

The air barrier Angel had set up was constructed using the virtual magic power stored within his body, so it didn’t require drawing external virtual magic power. But after setting up the air barrier, when Angel tried to absorb virtual magic power, he discovered the scene of the sparse external energy.

”Why did the density of virtual magic power suddenly thin out to this extent?” Dumatin questioned.

”Is it because of that?” Ironclad Granny pointed toward the fireball floating in the distance.

When they arrived here earlier, although the downpour was rampant, the surrounding energy field was generally stable. Now, with the energy field experiencing vigorous fluctuations and becoming so sparse, something unusual must have occurred.

Thinking of all possibilities, the most peculiar was the suddenly appearing large fireball.

As everyone was puzzled, a deep and magnetic voice echoed at their ears: ”Ironclad Granny is correct, the anomaly of the virtual magic power indeed stems from that floating fireball.”
