”Sorry, we don’t provide accommodation services here. If Mr. Lucian needs it, you can spend thirty Silver Coins at the Pink Fairy Club in Gene Town. I’m sure Lady Sarah would be more than willing to arrange someone to ease your loneliness,” Veronica sarcastically quipped, making the young Lucian blush with embarrassment. Several Kingdom Knights laughed along, not paying much mind. Veronica’s meaning was clear: It’s fine to visit, but no men are welcome to stay overnight in the Wizard Tower.

Of course, this certainly does not include a certain someone. When everyone arrived at the staircase door connecting the sixth and seventh floors, a massive iron door blocked everyone’s way. Veronica tapped the heel of her high-heeled shoe lightly on the ground, turning around: ”Thank you all for visiting, ladies and gentlemen. Today’s tour ends here. The seventh and eighth floors are my private area, so please return.”

The knights also knew that private areas were not suitable for visiting, so they dispersed one by one. Laine also intended to turn around and leave, but Veronica immediately grabbed his arm.

”Darling, it’s them; come with me.”

”Wait!” Teresa hurriedly said as she saw the knights really leaving, ”I want to go too.”

Veronica raised an eyebrow, and the Jialan Witch suddenly thought of something, then readily agreed with a smile: ”Alright, Trovik, you can come along.”

Teresa hastily followed from behind. Veronica opened the iron door, and a red carpet lined the path belonging to her. In the luxurious private area, the entrance, windows, and colonnades were all semicircular arches. The floor was painted in an oval shape like the Earth, with animal and plant patterns, and the dome symbolized stars moving in the same direction as the sun. Chandeliers made of golden brass plates were branch-shaped.

”Her Highness Mogiana also wanted to visit your Wizard Tower, but after considering many factors, I ultimately decided not to let her,” Laine said, walking up the steps with his hands behind his back as he smiled at Veronica. ”I can’t imagine what Mogiana’s reaction would be after seeing your decor?”

”What else could her reaction be? If I weren’t connected to you, her first reaction would probably be to tie me to a stake and burn me, right? ...Oh, right, I’m not afraid of flames,” Veronica chuckled, her eyes narrowing. ”Darling, you’re doing the right thing. Remember to keep protecting me in the future!”

Laine smiled wryly as he heard this. Seeing that Teresa seemed a bit confused, Laine began to explain the reason to the female sorcerer.

Mogiana is the mortal representative and First Divine Chosen of the Lake Fairy, wielding considerable power in this country. As a religious leader, she holds great authority, and she significantly marginalizes mages in the kingdom, especially male court wizards employed by the dukes. Many court mages often lock themselves in their attic drinking away their sorrows, their words full of complaints about the Lake God Witch.

Now, in Laine’s territory, twenty Holy Grail Knights and dozens of Lake God Prophets are stationed. If Mogiana were to visit Veronica’s Wizard Tower, at least several prophets and at least eight Holy Grail Knights would accompany her for protection. These individuals are not only powerful but follow Mogiana’s orders to the letter. Laine genuinely worried that the Lake God Witch might suddenly lash out. Who knows if Veronica violated any of the thousands of pages of laws?

”But I think you have the ability to make Her Highness Mogiana quiet down, darling. You always have a way with women,” Veronica said with a faint smile.

Teresa was still a bit confused, but Laine and Veronica did not continue the topic. Instead, they had arrived at their destination.

Veronica’s private space consisted of her private magic workshop, bedroom, living room, dining room, study, and bathroom. When the Jialan Witch opened her bedroom door, both Laine and Teresa were immediately impressed.

Veronica’s bedroom was not large, about twenty square meters, adorned with brown wallpaper, tapestries, and landscape paintings. The room was filled with warm hues. Several cabinets and furniture made of cherry wood were placed on the side near the door. An exquisite dressing table, beautiful floor lamps, and a dwarf-made fireplace completed the cozy setup.

Opening the glazed window, a beautiful countryside view could be seen. To the left were Laine’s stables and large expanses of farmland, to the right was the clear Xinong River and the majestic Oracle Mountain Range. From the windowsill, one could glimpse Laine’s count’s castle. Behind the lush hilly terrain was the mountain road leading to the capital of Winford Duchy, Helunhilde, with fog enveloping the direction to the Lake Fairy Tower.

”It’s so beautiful,” Laine sighed, and at the same time, he focused his gaze on the bed in Veronica’s bedroom, suddenly laughing, ”I like this bed, always have.”

”I like it too,” Veronica coyly glared at Laine. This bed was the large bed she brought all the way from Celestial Vault Castle to Laine’s territory. It had been reinforced with fine red-wing wood, large and soft, carrying many delightful memories for Veronica. The Jialan Witch clapped her hands: ”Alright, Trovik, you’ve seen all the places you needed to. Now you can leave and give me and Laine some time together. Also! Don’t touch my bed!”
