Warhammer Divine Throne

Mogiana stayed in Laine’s castle. The Lake God Witch usually stayed reclusive, spending most of her time bedridden for recovery. The third floor of the Baron Castle was reserved for private residence, and except for a few individuals, no one knew Mogiana was hiding there.

The whereabouts of the Lake God Witch in Brittania have always been mysterious and unfathomable. Many Expedition Knights seek her to find clues to the Holy Grail, but they are destined to find nothing. Mogiana announced through the Saintess Order that she was attacked and seriously injured, resting for recovery. The kingdom’s Great Nobles and the Holy Grail Knight Order received the news, and a special squad of about twenty Holy Grail Knights arrived at Laine’s domain to safeguard the Lake God Witch, whom Laine stationed near the winery.

The encounter of the Lake God Witch incited significant outrage among the Brittania Knights. Many Ranger Knights vowed vengeance against the Vampires and Tree Spirits, yelling and charging into Musillon or Aisloron Forest, never to return.

In the evening, after Laine finished dinner, he strolled hand in hand with Veronica around the vicinity of the castle.

The Baron’s castle has now been restored to magnificent luxury, with the castle walls fully repaired and reinforced. At the outer fort, dwarf-made artillery bright as new stood ready to unleash deadly fire upon the enemy. Several squads of soldiers patrolled the walls, equipped with both melee weapons and crossbows.

Soldiers typically resided in the outer fort, which led to an open space between the outer and inner forts that now housed a massive stable. The stable was luxuriously decorated as the dwelling for Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse Grapes. A few peasants slept alongside Grapes, ensuring its needs were attended to anytime, anywhere.

Sharing a stable with a Pure-blood Elf Warhorse was considered the utmost honor for the peasants.

The armory and training grounds were where soldiers usually trained. They were essentially professional soldiers. Laine mandated that when stationed within the domain, a soldier was granted two days off every ten days, and when stationed outdoors for extended periods, one day off every ten days. During wartime, no days off were granted, with holidays otherwise rearranged to allow for staggered leaves.

Outside the castle lay a huge horse field, within which some horses were already being trained. Today’s training had concluded, and some horses wandered leisurely on the field, with Laine’s mount Grapes standing out prominently among them. This Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse displayed formidable temper, demanding not only a domain exclusively its own but also unfettered freedom. Any attempts by the peasants to tether it were met with fierce refusal.

Perhaps it was this proud disposition that enabled this Pure-blood Elf Warhorse to bear the fully armed Laine into battle after prolonged exposure to Laine’s Spiritual Energy, Grapes was evolving further. Laine pondered how to get this horse to breed with other mares.

It’s a challenging task, as breeding Pure-blooded Elf Warhorses was quite troublesome, even requiring the assistance of wood elves due to the horses’ notoriously high tempers. Many mares were ignored, entirely disregarded by Grapes. The peasants must exhaust every means to please and delight Master Grape before cautiously introducing prospective mares.

Veronica wore a champagne-colored, knee-length wood elf silk dress, with a black neckerchief tied in front of her chest. Black-brown shoulder-length hair was adorned with a white bow, and she wore white velvet long boots on her charming feet. With a sweet and radiant face, the Jialan Witch wore an excited flush. She savored this rare moment of leisure: ”Speaker Margarita has said that soon, when the teleportation array within my Wizard Tower stabilizes, she will send an entire class of Wizard Apprentices to your domain. They can help you fight, assist in creating Magic Potions and Scrolls, and even help you experiment with various crops.”

”When is your Wizard Tower expected to be completed?” Laine felt the night breeze ruffling his hair and clothes. If all went without a hitch, reinforcements from Winford would arrive tomorrow or the day after, marking their last moments of leisure together.

”I don’t know, it’s only two stories high at the moment. My plan is to use the first floor for defense and storage of miscellaneous goods, the second floor as a storeroom and dining area, the third and fourth floors as laboratories and a Magic Workshop, the fifth and sixth floors as living quarters and library for the Witch Apprentices, and the seventh and eighth floors will be my private space.” Veronica introduced the layout of her Wizard Tower to Laine: ”It will be the most luxurious Wizard Tower built by any Female Member Jialan before the age of forty. At the top of the Wizard Tower, I plan to construct an unprecedented massive War Machine... however, there’s currently no budget.”

”...Don’t rush, take it one step at a time.” The first floor of the Veronica Wizard Tower alone spanned over one hundred and fifty square meters. If it weren’t for obtaining as many as fifty Deities Gold Coins (fifty thousand Gold Crowns) during the annihilation of the Aesthetic Society in Marinburg, Veronica would have lacked the capability to build such a lavish Wizard Tower, considering that the average floor area of a typical Wizard Tower was between fifty and eighty square meters.

”No wonder Teresa was so envious after seeing your Wizard Tower, her voice taking on a strange tone. She’s recently been trying to borrow money from her mother and plans to secure loans from Marinburg’s merchants to build a Wizard Tower that doesn’t lose out to yours.” Laine chuckled at the thought of how the female sorcerer reacted upon touring Veronica’s Wizard Tower.
