The knights charged on horseback, the fragile Beastman Tribe army had only some Inferior Horned Beasts and Horned Beasts using long spears and bows, along with Chaos War Dogs. These miscreants were completely eradicated by the knights’ simple charge.

Putting away the Warhammer, Laine asked Jules: ”Are there Beastmen running rampant here?”

”Every spring, these damned creatures always come out from the Arden Forest.” Holy Grail Knight Jules felt helpless about this: ”You know, even the bravest knights find it difficult to gallop through the forest.”

Arden Forest is the largest forest within Brittania, and it harbors a powerful Beastman Tribe. Every year, the Knight Kingdom organizes knights for a cleanup sweep.

”Haven’t you tried sending large troops to eradicate them completely, or... could the knights dismount and fight?” Laine continued to ask.

”Knights unwilling to dismount is a minor issue; they have sworn to the Lady to follow her anywhere she needs.” Jules nodded: ”But our opponents are very cunning. If too many knights enter Arden Forest, they will avoid us, refuse to engage us directly, then emerge from the forest to attack poorly defended villages, or they may try to lure us deeper into the forest and ambush us. After several significant losses, we have given up plans to penetrate deep into the forest to eliminate them completely.”

”Hmm, it can only be this way.” Laine felt helpless, realizing that not only in Brittania, but also in Nord and the Empire, the Beastmen can continuously retreat into the depths of the forest and various caves—they can be defeated but are hard to eradicate completely.

Venturing too deeply into the forest can easily expose supply lines and vulnerable march routes to the Beastmen.

After five more days of trekking, the army finally arrived at the Knight Kingdom’s capital—Kulona.

Kulona, established on the banks of the Sannes River, is hailed as one of the greatest wonders of the Old World. Originally, it was one of the gigantic cities of the High Elves in the Old World. Flags of the twelve duchies forming the Knight Kingdom hang all over the massive city, the city walls made of pristine giant stones exude immense grandeur when viewed from a distance.

The city walls are twenty-five meters high, wide enough for ten soldiers to march side by side. Every gate is carved with stories of the first generation Holy Grail Knights, and countless square shaped peaked houses extend up to a small hill, on which sits a massive castle. The sharp cylindrical-shaped castle, inheriting the architectural style of the Elves, rises dozens of meters high. Even behind the castle, on the hill, a waterfall flows down from the castle heights—rumored to be a blessing from the Lake Fairy.

After Brittania’s founding hundreds of years ago, Arthur didn’t choose his birthplace, Bastogne Castle, as the capital of the kingdom. Instead, choosing Kulona in the northern part of the kingdom had its reasons—here the transportation is well-connected, the land is fertile and vast.

Wandering Knight Lops approached Laine on horseback with a smile and said: ”I’ve long heard that Brittania’s Lion Ring Racecourse is the largest and finest in the Old World. This time, I must see it for myself.”

”Haha, Lion Ring Racecourse, is it? In my younger days, I even participated in a knight tournament there!” Holy Grail Knight Jules smiled and joined the conversation: ”That place is the Holy Land for all Brittania knights!”

”I’d love to hear more!” Laine showed interest.

Jules then proudly and detailedly described this racecourse that all Brittania people cherish. It is also the largest and finest racecourse in the Old World—an enormous oval stone building with tiered seating designed by class. More magnificent than the main castle, the racecourse was already present before Brittania’s establishment, accepted and transformed by the kingdom after being abandoned by the Elves.

”The knight tournament there must be very exciting, right?” Alfred asked excitedly.

”Indeed, it was quite exciting. I advanced all the way to the top four.” Jules stroked his beard, as if reminiscing his youth, smiling from the heart.

”Top four? If even Lord Jules could only reach the top four, then we’d likely be eliminated early!” Some young Ranger Knights jested.

”There’s nothing can be done; I swore by the Lady’s name that I tried my utmost. Yet, I still lost to a great knight, Francois, who defeated me in the semifinals and then beat Theodoric in the finals, winning that year’s knight tournament champion title. That was forty-eight years ago, as you know, the tournament is held every five years.” Jules continued smiling, as a Holy Grail Knight, he had a good temper and had long come to terms with the past.

”Francois, who is he?” Alfred continued to probe.

”Hohoho~ That you’ll have to inquire from Yuri or Miss Surya.” Laine grinned: ”This Francois gentleman is now a Holy Sanctuary Grand Knight, Holy Grail Knight, by the name Francois d’Antre.”
