Warhammer Divine Throne

”Waaagh!”

”Waaaaaaagh!!!”

”Fire!!!” The banner fell, the fuse was lit, and the thunderous cannonade marked the beginning of the battle.

”Release!” The Marinburg Mercenaries loaded stones into the catapults, tightened the winches, placed the rocks, and then released or cut the ropes, letting the weighted end drop and the stones catapult forward. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

Cannonballs and massive stones rained down on the terrifying numbers of the Green-skinned Army, with the powerful siege weapons inflicting massive damage on the dense wave of Greenskins.

But it couldn’t stop their advance. The green tide surged forward relentlessly, with groups of Green-skinned Lads and goblin warriors moving through the hail of bullets, crossbow arrows from mercenaries, and arrow barrages from the archers. Many goblins fell with arrows stuck in them, but the Green-skinned Lads seemed unfazed. Many of them were pierced like porcupines yet charged at the alliance’s frontline as if nothing had happened.

Such were the Greenskins. These dreadful creatures seemingly lacked much sense of pain; only the most lethal injuries could cause them discomfort in the heat of battle. Their sole purpose for existence was to destroy and fight.

”Shoot!” The musketeers fired as one, releasing a hail of bullets from their fire cannons that even the Greenskins couldn’t withstand. The first wave of charging Green-skinned Lads was turned into sieves and fell en masse amidst their screams.

Meanwhile, the Green-skinned Army surged forth with many goblins and beastmen lads wielding bows, retaliating against the humans. Although their accuracy was appalling, the rain of arrows left the defenders overwhelmed. The Imperial Soldiers raised their shields for protection, while the Marinburg Mercenaries readied for close combat.

The most vulnerable were the Brittania Peasant Archers. Clad only in cloth armor, they were easily felled by the Greenskins’ counterattacks. Dozens of them lay dead after a volley of arrows, and the survivors scrambled back in retreat.

A wizard in black robes stood at the rear of the army, Master Eliot, one of the Marinburg Guardians. He muttered incantations, gathering powerful magic energy around him before unleashing it.

”Yurino Lightning Arrow!!!”

The sky split open, and a powerful lightning bolt struck down from the air, reducing dozens of Greenskins to ash in a blink.

”Waaagh!!!”

”Waaagh!!!”

The green tide never ceased. Green-skinned Lads wielding blades and shields pressed against the army’s ranks, reeking grotesquely as they stormed in, slicing down two Marinburg Mercenaries with one swing and roaring, ”Gobdig is the best!!!”

”Die, beast!” Alfred skewered the Green-skinned Lad with his sword. The Paladin struck his shield and proclaimed, ”Come forth! In my Lord’s name, destroy these monsters!”

”Kill them!!!” The mercenaries raised their long spears and long halberds, skewering the attacking Greenskins. Yet more Greenskins charged at them, engaging in close quarters combat with the soldiers.

All armies did likewise.

At this moment, a swift unit emerged from the rear of the Green-skinned Army. Goblins mounted on wargs flanked at lightning speed, circled to the flank of the Brittania Army, and targeted the embattled Infantry Corps with their bows. Many infantry troops fell, unable to react in time, hit by the arrows.

”It’s the Goblin Wolf Riders!” Holy Grail Knight Jules shouted, ”Soldiers! Watch the flanks!”

”Sir Jules, we request to engage the enemy!” Many Ranger Knights, itching for battle, clamored to join the fray.

”No! You won’t catch those wolf riders!” Jules reprimanded them.

Seeing the Brittania Knights’ reluctance to charge, the Goblin Wolf Riders mocked their cowardice. Many youthful and hot-blooded Ranger Knights flushed with anger, veins bulging on their foreheads.

”Rangers!!! Eliminate those goblins.” Jules drew his longsword, and the Brittania Rangers responded, mounted on requisitioned horses. Lightly armored, many wore only simple cloth armor, armed with bows and long spears. Despite this, fighting alongside the Master Knights was a supreme honor for these peasants. There were even rumors that the most outstanding Rangers had been promoted to knighthood for their valor.

However, aside from rare instances, no Ranger had yet been knighted, as the Knights loathed riding into battle alongside these commoners, fearing it would tarnish their status.

”For Brittania!” The Rangers spurred their horses forward, drawing bows or lifting crossbows to launch a fierce assault on the Goblin Wolf Riders. Sensing the tide turning, the goblins retreated, skirmishing with the Rangers.

Artillery thundered, the Greenskin numbers endless. Humans formed orderly ranks to resist fiercely. Cannons sliced through the primitive Greenskin catapults like surgical blades, while mortars and the Engineering College’s hellstorm cannons tore huge gaps in the enemy lines. Each explosion left scores of Greenskin and goblin corpses strewn across the battlefield.

”Hold the line! Hold the line!” Human casualties began to mount as Imperial Captains and sergeants constantly reported the battle situation to the Griffin Duke.

”Rick’s first infantry company has collapsed!”

”Rick’s third Infantry Battalion suffered heavy losses! They require a retreat!”
