Julius Antre, the eldest legitimate son of the Duke of Brittania Winford, is hailed as the strongest of the younger generation in Brittania.

Laine met him a few years ago, due to the deep personal friendship between the Griffin Duke and the Duke of Winford. Through their introduction, Laine and Julius met and dueled each other.

The result was that Laine was defeated in mounted combat but achieved a complete victory in foot combat. After the duel, both young men felt incredulous: is there really someone in this world who can match me?

The most surprised was Laine, knowing that he is a Genetic Primarch! Is there really an opponent in this world who can rival me, a Genetic Primarch?

Thus, since that duel, these two young men became friends and regarded each other as formidable rivals.

This Kingdom Knight of Brittania carried a two-handed greatsword on his back, his cavalry lance held by his escort, and a shield hung on the hind leg of his pegasus, with a single-handed sword tied to the shield. His sculpted handsome face was cold as ice, his golden hair was tied into a ponytail at the back of his head. Seeing Laine approach, his mouth opened, uttering a few words: ”Since you’re here, I will surely come.”

”I knew you would come because I’m here. I just didn’t expect Miss Surya to accompany you.” Laine shrugged, then turned his gaze to the lady knight standing beside Julius.

Golden long curls, standing with a straight posture, impeccable beauty, the noble demeanor of a lady perfectly blended with a heroic knight’s aura. Her sea-blue eyes glimmered with curiosity as she presented Laine with an impeccably standard noble smile: ”Hello! Mr. Laine, pleased to meet you.”

Among all the women Laine had encountered, only the already defeated President of the Aesthetic Society, Agneda, could rival her beauty.

”Julius would actually let his precious sister come out?” Laine made a joke and then extended his hand proactively: ”Hello! Miss Surya! It’s an honor to meet you again.”

”My brother often mentions your name. Hearing Mr. Laine would be at Marinburg this time, I decided to come along.” The lady knight replied with a smile.

”What awaits us is not socializing and banquets, are you prepared? Julius? The scouts report that the Green-skinned Warlord Ugluk, after successfully taking down three other green-skinned warlords, has obtained control of this army. After a brief rest, we will face an enemy double our number.” On the return path, Laine said to Julius.

”No matter, I will eliminate any evil in the Lady’s name.” Julius maintained his icy demeanor, his poker face showing no emotion: ”After this war ends, I will continue our unfinished duel.”

”I too am eager to see your progress, but not now. In the future, we will have plenty of opportunities to duel again.” Laine thought to himself about the immediate desire for battle: ”In the future, we will fight side by side in the Lady’s name to eliminate evil.”

”...” There was finally some change on Julius’s face, he fixed his eyes on Laine for a moment, his tone changing slightly: ”As I wish, I am very pleased to serve the Lady alongside you.”

However, there was no trace of delight on his face.

After the Brittania reinforcements arrived, the last of the Empire’s reinforcements also reached Marinburg. The scouts had received word that a green-skinned army over thirty thousand strong was rolling down from the Ginter Mine.

The alliance army of the Empire and Brittania also set off for Koleson, preparing to confront the green-skinned army.

In early spring, the night was cold as water. On the boundless plains, the alliance army camped at Koleson, with logistics teams continuously supplying resources into the camp.

Marinburg’s Iris Guard and mercenaries willing to be employed had also arrived, Temple Knight Bierhoff brought along Alfred and other Paladins to prepare for battle, and Laine noticed Lops was also among the ranks.

After extensive training and battles, the youthful naivete and future yearnings on Lops’s face gradually faded, replaced by the baptism of blood and fire. Recently, he barely survived an attack by a group of undead after taking on a merchant’s commission, and despite being eventually rescued, the numerous scars on this Wandering Knight’s body and face told of his past experiences.

The son of the Lord of Mosheen, Heide, was finally starting to resemble a knight.

The scouts repeatedly reported, a green-skinned army over thirty thousand strong officially rushed down from the Ginter Mine, rolling towards Koleson. If nothing unexpected happens, by noon tomorrow, the Human Alliance Army will officially engage the green-skinned army.

By nightfall, after having dinner, Laine stood alone outside the village, gazing at the tranquil distance, exhaling heavy white mist, standing silently at the village gate.

The villagers of this small village had been forcibly evacuated by the Empire, despite their continuous pleas that it would affect spring planting. The attitude of the Griffin Duke remained staunchly firm: sacrificing the few is for the protection of the many.

Seeing Laine standing outside, the persistent and ambitious Ranger Knights of Brittania sought again to challenge Laine to a duel, but their rash actions were all stopped by Holy Grail Knight Jules. In this army, no one could defy a Holy Grail Knight’s words, and thus the restless Ranger Knights had to give up.
