Warhammer Divine Throne

In the evening, the City Hall hosted yet another grand banquet, lighting up the beautiful night sky. It was the last night that Griffin Duke Ivan and Baron Laine Gene would spend in Marinburg. The next day, Ivan would lead the army back to the Rick Territory, and Laine would follow Brittania’s troops to the Knight Kingdom beyond the mountains.

The negotiations between the Empire and Marinburg were still unresolved, but they had reached many agreements. What’s left is the long process of filling in the gaps, and Ivan would not stay any longer.

So, this night, Laine and his godfather had several drinks together. Anton, who had been seriously injured in the charge, did not attend the evening’s banquet.

”That brat from the past has really grown up.” In the opulent banquet hall, Ivan raised a full glass of wine and toasted Laine: ”This glass is to my godson, wishing you all the best in the future.”

”And this glass is to my godfather, wishing him to hold a grandchild soon!” Laine said with a mischievous smile, ”Tell Anton to make more of an effort!”

”Hahahaha!” The godfather and godson finished their last glass of wine and then exchanged heartfelt farewells.

Afterwards, Laine, holding his wine glass, found Julius and Surya in the corner of the banquet.

The Duke of Winford’s eldest son was wearing a white and blue outfit today. His cold demeanor and fine physique, noble birth, and outstanding looks made him a notable figure at the banquet. With Laine and the Griffin Duke being hard to approach, many noble ladies and madams turned their attention to Julius. Who wouldn’t want to become the future Duchess?

Dreams are always worth having. How would you know unless you try?

But no matter how these ladies and madams tried to strike a conversation, this Kingdom Knight remained cold and reserved, like a hard stone in a latrine, immune to flirtations, leaving these women with many thoughts frustrated.

As for which lady was the most popular and well-received among the men at the banquet, it was undoubtedly Miss Surya Kumani Antiri from Brittania. This young lady wore an elegant noble-style long white gown that split open, her dazzling golden hair fixed with a headband and cascading down from her head. The golden tips curled elegantly, and her sea-blue eyes were as pure as the vast ocean. At 1.75 meters tall, her height emphasized her slender and statuesque figure, perfectly complementing her golden proportions.

What excited the male nobles at the banquet the most was her almost perfectly delicate face. The heroic demeanor of a female knight, the grace and elegance of a great noble, and the gentle allure of a young lady combined perfectly in her. Since the disappearance of Aesthetic Society President Agneda Krausner, she was the most beautiful woman the male animals of Marinburg had seen.

At the banquet, the young lady deftly handled the nobles who came to converse with her. Her every move exuded the demeanor of a Duke’s daughter, always considerate of everyone’s feelings during conversations. However, she politely declined deeper interactions from various parties. Wave after wave of men approached to socialize, only to retreat and return defeated.

”Make way, make way, ladies, I have a date with this Mr. Julius~” Laine raised his wine glass, indicating to the ladies surrounding Julius to give way.

The swarming admirers were reluctant. How could the two most eligible bachelors at the banquet arrange a date together?

”Yes! Laine and I have something to discuss.” Julius, seeing Laine arriving, relaxed a little and quickly confirmed that he indeed had something to discuss with Laine. Official source ıs Novᴇl_Fire(.)net

So the ladies had to disperse.

”We will set off by noon tomorrow.” Julius’s first words upon seeing Laine were about their departure.

”Which route will we take back? Is it the Jisoleox Path or the Axe Bite Pass?” Laine and Julius found a relatively quiet corner to sit down, and then Laine asked.

There are three routes from Marinburg to Brittania. The first route is the northern Randall Road, then along the West Coast, directly reaching Kulona by the coast. However, no one chooses this route because it is too dangerous. It is both barren and lacks supplies, with many terrifying creatures lurking in the dark fields. This dangerous route not only fails to shorten the journey but requires a large detour, so Laine didn’t even mention it.

The other routes are either the middle Jisoleox Path, which crosses the Pale Sisters Mountain Range north of the Gray Mountain Range, passing through the Duchy of Solarox. This area is a central hub for land trade routes from the eastern Empire to the western Brittania. These mountains are mostly barren with only bandits and a few goblins. Some peaks are said to resemble twisted old branches, and the everlasting snow resembles a shawl, giving it the name: Pale Sisters Mountain Range.

Or the southern Axe Bite Pass, with the towering Montfort Castle built above the pass, ensuring safety. The passage is patrolled and guarded by the Holy Grail Knight Quidrez, with many inns available for rest along the way. However, this route takes a detour, passing through the Emperor’s direct territory, the Rick Territory. Most Imperial Merchants prefer this route because of its safety, but that also means the toll to pass is an astounding amount.
