Warhammer Divine Throne

”It is because my brother cares about me, I just...” The female knight wanted to say something, but Mr. Laine just shook his head, ”Everyone must take responsibility for their actions. He is already a twenty-six-year-old Kingdom Knight. If he is wrong, he is wrong. There’s no such thing as sharing responsibilities, you know it in your heart, and Julius knows it too.”

Surya said nothing, Mr. Laine’s meaning was clear: everyone is an independent individual and must be responsible for their actions. The female knight did nothing wrong in this matter; it was Julius who was wrong. He was blinded by anger and made a wrong decision.

”Lord Laine, please don’t take it to heart. My brother is just concerned about me, he is not that kind of person.” Surya spoke well of her brother to Mr. Laine, and the female knight softly apologized.

”I understand, the relationship between you siblings is very good,” Mr. Laine showed a slight smile, ”I get it.”

”Thank you.”

......

After the night’s farce passed, Mr. Laine returned home, where the three maids had already packed up everything at home. Mr. Laine didn’t have much stuff; he also had a Space Ring.

He finally sat in the living room of the house at Amber Avenue 53, Marinburg, and dazed for a while.

Last October, he and Teresa came to Marinburg to pursue Belte.

After that, he experienced a series of events, one battle after another, involving many wits and brave interactions with numerous people. During this, he also relaxed briefly, then with the grand battle against the Green-skinned Army, he concluded this journey in Marinburg with a relatively perfect ending.

What awaits him next is still a lot. He has never forgotten his mission. He knows why he is here. There are too many secrets in his heart, but Mr. Laine knows it can’t be rushed. Meals must be eaten one bite at a time. He has already transformed from a Nord Peasant Lord’s adopted son into a Brittania Holy Grail Knight, Baron Gene. His fame now is unmatched on the Continent. Many minstrels tell his story, and his heroic feats have been adapted by many artists into poetry. Even the High Elf Envoy came today to have a drink with him, expressing congratulations from the High Elves.

Now is the time to set on a new journey. Although Marinburg is prosperous, it is not a place to stay long. He will head to that country beyond the Gray Mountain Range. His identity is destined to find it hard to rise in the Empire; therefore, he shall head to Brittania, where his opportunities lie.

This house will be returned to Schultz, and the Duke of Marinburg has agreed with Mr. Laine to keep in touch often. He will coordinate with Mr. Laine’s actions.

The next morning, Mr. Laine packed his things. He had long ordered a large carriage, which could carry goods and house his three maids. Except for Amelia, the other two maids basically had no combat ability, so it was better for them to stay inside the carriage.

In the afternoon, the Brittania Army, having finished their meal, officially embarked on their journey back home from Marinburg. Although Marinburg was not far from Brittania, it would still take more than ten days’ travel.

The Ranger Knights were quite surprised to see Mr. Laine’s maids. Not that they thought Mr. Laine’s three maids were too many; rather, they thought there were too few. In these days, which knight’s household didn’t have a few maids? They were surprised that one of the maids was actually a Dark Elf.

Heading all the way south, in early spring, everywhere were the busy figures of farmers. Spring plowing is the most critical moment each year. The year’s harvest depended on it. It was precisely because of this that the Empire lacked enough troops for the battle against the Green Skins and had to seek aid from Brittania.

It took several days to pass through Leman Castle and the previous battlefield, Koleson, before the knights entered the Pale Sisters Mountain Range.

Today they would camp in the mountains.

”Rangers! A few of you, come with me!” People were bustling in the camp. Knights loudly commanded the peasants to set up camp and cook, while Rangers continually followed the knights to scout around for enemy activity. On this journey, Mr. Laine did not encounter many enemies; smaller bands of robbers would often turn tail the moment they saw this army, so the journey was rather quiet.

Mr. Laine’s tent and the Holy Grail Knight Jules’s tent were at the innermost and safest place. The knights expressed their respect for the two Holy Grail Knights in this way, with Mr. Laine’s tent slightly larger, about fifteen square meters.

When Mr. Laine finished his patrol, the sky was filled with twinkling stars. Pulling up the tent flap, he caught a whiff of a strong aroma, ”What smells so good?”

”It’s baked bread, Mr. Laine.” Amelia handed the baked bread to Mr. Laine, then pulled out a tin box, ”This is roast chicken.”

”Master!” Miranda and Ollica also bowed their heads, the Dark Elf was still not quite adjusted to her situation.

”Hmm, you’ve worked hard along the way.” Mr. Laine nodded with a smile to his three maids. In the wild, they’d changed back to their normal attire — cold-resistant cotton coats and leather pants with long boots. The weather was still very cold in early spring, especially when passing through the mountainous areas, where daytime would still show the pristine white snow of the Pale Sisters Mountain Range.

After a simple dinner, with nothing to do in the dark night, each found rest. Out of concern for Ollica, Mr. Laine arranged for the Dark Elf to sleep next to him, while Amelia and Miranda settled at the other end of the tent.
