Triple X System

Wheeler stood still his gaze lingering on ona. There was a questionable look in his eyes deliberating on something.

Is that red line connected to her ability?

He wasn’t certain but there was still a possibility that was somehow related to ona’s ability.

Weird i couldn’t sense mana in that attack.

Normally abilities and skills are activated by mana. Though the consecration of mana here is moderate. There were not so much awakeners or knowledge about such attributes.

Looks like she’s hiding something. I have to be careful.

Out from both his hands the silver liquid moved yet again. This time extending outwards from his arms elongating to about 4 meters long.

Don’t die on me now. Wheeler smirked feeding off ona’s face which was now a bit pale.

Not thinking he swung his left arm upwards generating a fierce wind slash. Directed towards the half beaten commander in front.

I have to get close to him. With her current condition it would be a death wish to take Wheeler’s strike head on.

Considering he used long range attacks generated from winds using his explosive force.

Gritting her teeth she limped towards him, the air slash closing the distance. Adding more pace, now firmly planting her legs to the ground running.

Her bones trembled under the inconvenient toll brought on them. But she ignored such thoughts focusing on the task at hand. Dodging the first air slash another replaced it as wheeler continuously swung his arms.

Why isn’t she repellingy attacks with the red line? Wheeler thought seeing ona focused on defense and evade. Rather than attack and blocking.

Is it just me or did his attacks get stronger. Leaping to the side she avoided his hit not stopping in the slightest with her movement.

The air slash connected completely severing a huge portrait in two. Leaving a massive cut line running along the portion of the wall.

The comparability between the air fists and these air strikes were not on the same par. The first dealing an explosive force when released while the latter carried a more destructive power.

I should have about 30 seconds left. Marley disguised as ona inwardly cursed.

She’d been keeping a watchful eye during the time she activated her ability till this moment. As it was crucial having in mind her ability was time related and couldn’t be maintained for long.

5 minutes and i couldn’t land compete with him. So this is the power of a high ranking individual.

Clenching her sword her footwork changed from evasive to offensive. Charging straight at wheeler with a dark smile. To which the luitenant relayed back with a smug grin.

Rushing in the first she didn’t leap to the side but simply twisted her body to the side a bit. Sidestepping the vertical wind turbulence embrassing herself for the worst?

Nothing happened?

She was a bit stunned coming through that without a scratch. Technically attacks generated from air carried some uncharacterized effects varying. Along with other elemental abilities.

Same going for air fist. Though she blocked and maneuvered some, she was always still not completely unscathed.

But now, she wasn’t harmed in the slightest.

Wait.. why are those things not shielding his arms? Ona questioned wondering why wheeler chose to do this.

She knew he wasn’t stupid and had a reason for doing so. Probably to lure her in then finish the job.

But why didn’t he do that earlier? It didn’t make sense why wheeler resorted to this trick now.

Could it be? It doesn’t matter anyways.

Using the red sword she forcefully slashed through the hige slashes generated from air.

His attacks are weaker? She blinked twice in disbelief.

When he’d first sent out the first wave of air slashes they were undeniably strong. Do she expected the same raw power since he was going all out.

But there was a catch.

Just like air punch had an explosive force when released so did his air slash.

Supressing her smile she dashed forward recklessly making wheeler grin broaden

Looks like she’s finally given up.

16 secs left. I have to get close to him and land a hit.

Her heart paced with every motion she made. The crunching sounds in her bones couldn’t be hidden. Along with the underlying fatigue consuming her.

The world around her turning into a blurry mix of colours. Fading into silence. Her eyes soley locked like a predator to her target.

Slashing her sword horizontally it clashed with an air strike. Dispelling it but not without paying a price.

Clang!

The sword shuttered into tiny fragments unable to withstand the pressure.

Her sword just got destroyed by Wheeler’s attack. A random guard muttered.

We can all agree it’s over now, right?

No! She put up a good fight, this can’t be the end.

There was a mixed descision amongst the crowd. Some in favour of ona still winning the fight. While some were more realistic than hopeful.

It’s over. Wheeler boldly declared with a proud look.

Just when it seemed all hope was lost, the tiny red fragments dissolved into red liquid. Hovering slightly in the air, just before ona. Bonding togerher into a condensed thin horizontal line.

What the gell is with that? He wasn’t certain if that was blood or a different substance. But the vibrations emitting from the red liquid was off the charts.

Even going as far as shaking the whole room uncontrollably. Creating crack lines running along the floors and walls. Basically everywhere within the room was affected.

I can’t move. Skylar stuttered unable to move her arms. Shaking under this overwhelming force.

And she wasn’t the only one affected, but all the guards present and even the great luitenant had stopped moving.

Boom! Boom!

The previous air slashes from wheeler bombarded the single big red line. Dispercing into nothing but air.

Such power. Where is she drawing such power from. Wheeler coughed up blood for the first time.

Just when it seemed over, ut wasn’t.

Raising her head a bit there was a crazed smile playered to her face. Blood flowing freely from her eyes, ears, basically every open pores in her body.

Floating upwards along the rest drops of blood seeping out from the guards. Adding to the omnious red line in front.

Meanwhile ~

A bit away from the commotion. A young man’s eye twitched slightly. The fierce air ruffling his raven dark hair.

Wake up kyle! A voice screamed inside a black hollow space. Containing a single unconscious individual aimlessly drifting.

Wake up or you’re going to die idiot! The voice shouted again this time louder.

Argh! Who left the speakers on? The young teenager groaned shielding his ears.

In less than a minute you’re gonna regret that. The female vouce pouted.

Oh yeah? And why’s that? Kyle retorded with a big smile.

Oh nothing really.. just that you’re gonna be pummeled in a few seconds. Along with your parents.

Mhm! The unconscious teenager’s eye suddenly popped open. Clutching his head he sat up straight, his face contorting the next moment.

What’s going on? Kyle weakly uttered watching tye mayhem unfolding.

Be careful what you ask for! Snow mischievously gigggled in his head making him raise a brow.

Memories of what transpired during his journey to the wastelands flooding his head. Forcing out a pained groan.

Haha. Very funny. He sarcastically muttered. Keeping that at the back of his mind he got up. His attention drawn to the present event.

Is that ona? Though his vision wasn’t 100%, that was no doubt the strict commander.

Something’s not right. He couldn’t place a finger on it, but something seemed off with her at first glance.

[Of course something is wrong with her. Her aura isn’t the same as before.] Snow butted in.

Currently humans aura’s were distinct from demons and other mythical beasts. The universal percentage of humans being blue officiated with mana stones. While demons were a more compelling feature of black, red, etc.

But right now instead of the usual ble, ona’s aura was a mixture of red and blue.

Could she be possessed by a demon? No, i don’t sense a demon nearby. Prehaps a spellcaster?

[Since my feeds corresponds with your visuals i am unable to determine the source of her possessor. But there is a 70% probability she is currently being controlled by an external presence.]

Can’t you run a scan now or sense his location? Kyle frowned impatient.

If truly ona was possessed dealing with the person controlling her was the only way of breaking the spell.

[Don’t you think i already did, idiot!] Snow clicked her tongue with a light snort.

[My scan results came up empty. The individual might be far from her here controlling with an item or artifact. But that is highly unlikely considering lumia kingdom is technology based and doesn’t posses a large number of magical enhanced items.]

[Second reason is probably a concealment spell in place. But i doubt such as spellcasters are usually weak and would refrain from the frontlines. The third however..] she paused.

[I think there might be a vampire around.]

She uttered making Kyle’s face turn pale.
