Triple X System

Are you out of your mind Ronan, release him at once. Ona demanded her expression tense.

As the commander she wasn’t only subjucated to the king but also the kingdom. Including the safety and protection of it’s citizens disregarding the favouritism of some.

Not listening Ronan stared directly into Wheeler’s eyes. A crazed look flustered across his face like a pissed individual.

W-what the hell.. why can’t I move? Wheeler thought dangling some few feets from the floor. No matter how much he struggled his attempt to break free was futile.

Why isn’t the mind control skill working on him. Does he have some sort of exponential high IQ or mental resilience.

Unlike before his purchased mind control skill which cost a fortune had been tested and worked on ona. But now.. for some hidden reasons it was ineffective against this young man.

I’m loosing consciousness. Damnit! This is outrageous~ who the hell is this lowlife to disgrace me publicly! The enraged luitenant fumed his once poised and handsome face turning bright red.

Angry I see.. well you do taste better when enraged. Ronan snickered licking his lips making wheelers face turn pale.

T-taste.. for a moment it seemed like a slip of tongue. Possible a sadistic taunt to make him loose his guard. But staring into the eyes of this strange guard.

Wheeler couldn’t help but shiver at those words.

Swoosh!

Just as the luitenant could feel his strength leaving him. A sharg gust of wind cut through the air prompting Ronan to momentarily let go of wheeler.

That’s enough. Ona uttered standing ahead of wheeler. In her hand was a silver sword pulsing with blue energy around it.

Are you out of your mind!? You could’ve knocked him out, or worse! She roared her once calm demeanour vanishing without a trace.

Knocked him out? Is he meant to be the glorified luitenant wheeler. Slayer of beasts, protector of the kingdom and it’s residents?

Ronan retorted with a light scowl. There was a deep resent plastered to his face for individuals like luitenent wheeler. And other high-ranking officials within the royal household that chose to oppress and enslave lower ranking subordinates. For their own selfish desires.

Your actions are unjustifiable. Harboring or inflicting any action deemed as a harmful intent towards fellow members of the royal guards will not be tolerated. Ona spoke with a frown.

She could understand ronan’s reason but still. It didn’t warrant the urge to outright attack not only a member of the space guards. But higher-ranking personnel with royal lineage.

Really? Tsk.. cause the way I see it, it kind of looked like he was planning a coupe to overthrow the king. He shrugged darting a piercing glance towards the luitenent.

Bullshit! I would never dream of betraying the king! Luitenent wheeler blurted out regaining himself.

There were visible signs of anger written on his face which he tried covering up. I was simply suggesting a better strategy to safeguard the kingdom until the king fully recovers from these prompt incidents.

You’re the lunatic who attacked me! Wheeler roared like a wounded lion. His pride and self-esteem had just taken a deadly bullet, courtesy of this strange man.

Speaking of which~ who are you? I haven’t seen you before around here. There were about a hundred or more guards before the addition of new recruits. Boosting the number up by a margin, to about 200 or more.

And as the luitenent he’d been accustomed to the faces of each individual. Inscribing their faces within his memory but never for once did he come across this young man.

Is he part of the earlier recruits from this morning? No.. he couldn’t be.

Humans~ such confused creatures. Ronan inwardly chuckled. He held the urge not to grin reading the luitenent confused state.

Who am I you ask? Well, why don’t I show you. With that the stranger disappeared from his spot leaving a stunned wheeler in place.

Where did he go? Glancing there was no signs or traces of ronan. Like he’d suddenly dispersed with the wind. No footsteps no light breeze or change in the air. Like he was never there to begin with.

Taking some steps back his attention was pulled to an incoming object descending fast to hm.

What the hell are you doing ona! Wheeler yelled seeing she’d suddenly moved from spot. Her blue energy sword glowing in hand directed towards him.

Not responding she didn’t flinch or retreat following true with her attack. This speed. How did she get so fast all of a sudden.

Gritting his teeth wheeler managed to block the incoming strike to his head by lifting his hand up. Just in time to prevent the sword with his armor from descending further.

Explain your-

Using her foot, she sent a kick to his guts pushing him back a bit. Not stopping she followed up with an arc strike aimed at his chest.

Clang!

A loud clang sound reverberated through the castle walls as sharp steel clashed against solid steel. Forcing the onlookers to shield their ears from the high-pitched noise.

What’s happening? A female guard uttered regaining her sense of hearing.

I don’t know but I’m sure as hell loving every bit of it. Another enthusiastically bellowed earning weird looks from her surrounding piers.

Shouldn’t we try and separate them? A slightly short man suggested about to step out.

Separate them.. are you kidding!? We couldn’t match their attacks not to mention keeping up with their speed. It would be suicide to even think of such. The much older male by his side interjected clearly wanting to have nothing to do with this sudden clash.

What’s going on? Marley stuttered standing beside flint. Her expression bore that of shock and confusion seeing the abrupt duel between the two high ranking officials.

Somethings not right. Flint acknowledged her suspicions having the same thought. Just like the rest guards he’d been present here with marley before the argument which escalated into this.

Of course.. commander ona would never just lose control and attack a member of the royal family. it’s unlike her. No one really knew ona personally mainly due to her strict and confidential personality. But during the few times they’d encountered she didn’t live up to her harsh expectations.

Exactly.. when that strange three-star guard disappeared she suddenly went berserk. I’m betting he has something to do with this. Flint boldly declared gaining an awkward glare from marley.

If I didn’t know better I would’ve assumed you’re hinting the commander is somehow under an influence skill.

Not influence or mind control. More like a full body possession. He relayed to which she rolled her eyes not believing him.

Seriously? I thought you were crazy with the mind control theory but possession? This isn’t some scary story to tell in the dark fantasy novel. She sarcastically rolled her eyes.

Believe it or not it’s true. I don’t know how but it must be linked to that strange man. Think about it.. commander ona isn’t just one to act on temper or feelings that’s one of the reasons she was elected by the king.

And she knows the rules by heart so why would she choose to risk all her hard work for some measly bickering. Listening to him she couldn’t deny there were truth in his words.

From the weird pause while talking with wheeler to the outburst of mindless attacks. It was all suspicious and alarming considering the disappearance of ronan.

Supposedly you’re right and she is being possessed. What can we do? Even if there’s a slight chance we manage to convince others I highly doubt we would be able to divide them with our numbers.

The power difference between ona and wheeler was on another level compared to them. Even with their space armor and equipment’s it still wasn’t enough to match the two giants.

You’re right.. heading in without a proper strategy is stupid. Flint muttered placing his hand to his chin.

Clang! Clang!

Meanwhile the battle between ona and the luitenent continued. Some parts of the castle walls taking major hits. Luckily none of the two had activated their abilities, keeping the damage to a somewhat considerable level.

That’s it! Flint snapped his fingers drawing marley’s attention.

What? Do you have a plan? She hurriedly asked seeing how the two brutes were on the verge of completely destroying themselves.

Yes but we’ll need to make use of your ability. Hearing him her expression immediately turned sour.

No~ I can’t, you know the law. We’re not meant to use our abilities unless permitted by the king. Y-you know what’ll happen if he finds out. I don’t want to be-

Look! I understand your reservation, I get it. But we don’t have a choice here. The king is not in the right mindset to deal with such and there’s no other way.

Grunting marley hesitated at first still not onboard with flints plan. *sighs fine. Just so you know... if this backfire I’m taking you with me! She pouted with a light scoff.
