Three Towers Game

Wen Xishu felt quite out of place.

After parting ways with Old Zheng, Wen Xishu was preparing to rest in his own Deceit Tower district.

He made himself some food and then enjoyed it alone.

Actually, he hadn’t been in this world for long, but it really felt as if a very long time had passed since his past life.

Yet, the rhythm of his life had undergone a tremendous change.

The way the Bunker accepted him now was completely different from when he first arrived.

If Wen Xishu wished to stay longer in the Bunker, he would find that he seemed to have gained everything.

The childhood pain from his past life made him long for certain things.

Now he had everything.

He had reliable partners, the character of Old Zheng, the strength of Xun Hui, Wenren Mirror, and others were all very dependable.

He also had teachers worth learning from and chasing after.

Of course, there was no love in the Bunker, but Wen Xishu thought to himself that he didn’t really need it.

As for resources, having climbed Deceit Tower twelve times so far, Wen Xishu had already brought back countless supplies to the Bunker. If we talk about financial freedom... well, financial freedom had not been achieved.

Wen Xishu could be considered the least likely to starve in the Bunker, as he brought back many supplies, yet he indeed wasn’t the wealthiest person there.

Yet ironically, he found the life in the Bunker quite boring, even if there were things like power and money worth pursuing and striving for.

At this moment, reflecting like this, Wen Xishu somewhat understood the old principal.

”The old principal and I are probably the same kind of people. These things in the Bunker seem really trivial in front of the Three Towers War.”

Thinking this, the Academy Spirit brought news again.

”Dean, I am very sorry to disturb your meal. Before you enjoyed your food, I had crammed up on the Bunker’s knowledge and had a conversation with Jabbar, learning about the current political ecosystem of the Bunker.”

”Now, the young master of the William Family, William Hawker wishes to visit you.”

”Deceit Tower Academy? Here?” Wen Xishu was somewhat curious.

”Yes, he has already arrived at the Deceit Tower Academy.”

The William Family, one of the Six Great Clans. They were regarded as the most business-savvy family among the Six Great Clans.

Wen Xishu was not interested in things of the Bunker; if it were another place, he wouldn’t entertain guests.

But the fact that the young master of the William Family could find the Deceit Tower Academy piqued his interest a bit.

”Let him in.”

The Academy Spirit immediately went to greet him, and soon, William Hawker, in a simple attire, completely not matching the title of the William Family, appeared before Wen Xishu.

Wen Xishu immediately noticed William Hawker’s badge, which indicated that William Hawker was still a student at Desire Tower Academy.

”Dean Wen, my idol, I finally get to meet you. Never thought someone of your stature would actually cook for themselves; it looks really delicious.”

Wen Xishu generally held a... subtly disdainful attitude towards students of Desire Tower Academy.

This disdain was unwarranted; he himself knew it was unwarranted, but he still held disdain, much like knowing some behavior isn’t politically correct, yet you can’t change it.

”Get straight to the point.” Wen Xishu didn’t entertain small talk.

William Hawker’s smile didn’t diminish in the slightest:

”I’ve come here mainly to admire Dean Wen’s presence. To be honest, the way you put that brat from the Miyamoto Family in his place last time was really satisfying to me.”

William Hawker sat comfortably across from Wen Xishu.

Wen Xishu slowly chewed his food, watching William Hawker’s smile.

Typically, such a gaze could freeze a person’s smile, but Hawker’s didn’t falter; he even smiled more broadly. That sense of joy upon seeing an idol didn’t seem to be an act.

This intrigued Wen Xishu.

In his previous life, the separation of officials and merchants was fundamental, but in the Bunker, collusion between the two was common. The William Family controlled innumerous firms. The Bunker Industrial and Commercial Bureau was also managed by the William Family.

One could say, members of the William Family only needed to operate within the Bunker; even without climbing towers, they could do well.

Especially with a Five Elder like William Gordon at the helm.

Yet, the fact that such a family scion could be so sycophantic, performing a sham smile so convincingly obsequiously, Wen Xishu found amusing.

”Get to the point.” Wen Xishu still didn’t give a friendly face.

William Hawker said:

”Dean Wen, as my idol, I am well-versed in your feats. You’ve climbed the tower twelve times, each time achieving at least a level six completion.”

”You know, the survival rate from climbing Deceit Tower is a one-in-nine chance. Surviving and returning with such high completion... that probability is too low, one in a thousand? One in ten thousand? I don’t know, but I do know one thing; among a thousand, ten thousand people, not necessarily one could bring back a level six completion.”

Still with the flattery, flattery always works, no matter what.

Even though Wen Xishu insisted on the matter at hand, William Hawker still hadn’t spoken to the point.

But Wen Xishu had to admit... hearing these words was indeed very comforting. This was exactly how William Hawker wanted him to feel.

Everyone adored Dean Wen; subordinates all lauded Dean Wen, but William Hawker had truly spent these past days laboring over studying him.

He could be said to have burned the midnight oil, using the William Family’s power to gather a variety of information on Dean Wen.

”But do you know what you’ve done? You’ve accomplished this miracle twelve times in a row, my gosh, twelve times!”
