The Golem Mage

747: Commander 2.

747: Commander 2.

The peak Tier 5 Mage stared at Alec in surprise, struggling to process his words.

Alec’s statement was simple, yet it carried a weight that felt impossible to accept.

As he hesitated, still trying to make sense of it, the rest of the mages had already arrived at the clearing atop the mountain.

“Move near the flag that corresponds with your cultivation realm,” Alec repeated.

This time, many of the mages, recognizing that it was the Young Master himself speaking, and began shifting toward the designated flags without question.

But the defiant mage wasn’t ready to back down.

“Hold on!” he called out, his voice filled with frustration.

“He may be the Young Master, but that doesn’t give him the right to order us around, He’s just a High Tier 5 Mage, and he doesn’t even qualify to be voted as the Tier 5 mage leader, let alone command us all!”

His gaze burned into Alec, filled with challenge, to the mage this wasn’t just about rank, it was about who had control over the Tier 5 mages, he had planned to fight for the position of Tier 5 Mage leader, and Alec’s sudden claim to authority threatened that.

If Alec was chosen as the leader, he needed to ensure that the Tier 5 Mages sided with him instead, making Alec nothing more than a figurehead, and this was him still thinking that Alec only wanted to be leader of the Tier 5 mages

But Alec had no intention of letting anyone divide his team.

Bang!

The crowd gasped as Alec launched himself off the rock, his fist raised high, heading straight for the outspoken mage.

“Oh?

Looks like I hit a nerve,” the middle-aged mage sneered, a smirk creeping onto his face.

He had only intended to stir some conflict, to shift the team’s loyalty in his favour, as Alec closed in, reaching striking range, the mage dashed forward to meet him, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

He had only intended to stir conflict among the mages, hoping to position himself in a favourable light.

But he never would have thought that he would get the chance to fight Alec and, in doing so, boost his own prestige far beyond what he had initially aimed for, to him, this was an opportunity falling right into his lap, proof that Alec was rash and immature.

Not once did he consider the possibility of losing to Alec, from the start, he had underestimated Alec, seeing him as nothing more than a lucky brat who happened to be the bastard grandson of the patriarch.

Even the other mages in the Tier 5 Mage Realm watched intently, curiosity sparking in their eyes.

Many of them wanted to gauge Alec’s strength first-hand, especially if they were to serve under his command, they needed to know if he was someone they could rely on.

But Alec’s close companions?

They only pitied the fool who was about to clash with him.

It was clear to them, that Alec was here to establish dominance, and the unfortunate mage in front of him, who had been pestering him from the moment he arrived, had simply volunteered to be the example.

Alec’s blank expression spoke volumes of this as no Tier 5 Mage, no matter how strong, was a match for him.

His physical body alone had already reached the Tier 6 realm, and that was without using mana.

At the War God Mage Academy’s strength test, he had effortlessly reached the 6th bar with a casual punch, a feat that placed him far beyond the average Tier 5 warrior.

For a mere Tier 5 Mage to flaunt his strength in front of Alec?

It was laughable, but to Alec, this wasn’t a fight, it was nothing more than a warm-up.

“Come, let me teach you the harshness of reality.

You need to learn that—”

“AAAHHHH!”

The middle-aged mage’s words were cut off by a bloodcurdling scream.

He had reinforced his hand with mana, fully confident in meeting Alec’s strike head-on, but the moment their fists collided, a sickening crack echoed through the clearing.

Pain exploded up his arm as the bones in his hand, wrist, and elbow shattered upon impact.

Only now, as agony coursed through his body, did he finally realize his mistake, he had underestimated Alec.

And that mistake had cost him dearly.

“Wait—”

The middle-aged man’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as he realized Alec wasn’t finished.

He saw Alec’s right hand stretching toward his head, and panic set in, he wanted to concede, to beg for mercy, anything to escape the inevitable.

But he was pleading with the wrong person.

Alec wasn’t just looking to win, he was here to send a message, a lesson, and he had no intention of letting his scapegoat off so easily.

Alec’s hand clamped down on the mage’s head, his grip like an iron vice, the man struggled, using his uninjured hand to push against Alec’s, but it was futile.

Alec didn’t budge.

Instead, the mage felt a sudden pull downward.

Then came the impact.

Bang!

Alec’s knee rocketed up, smashing into the man’s forehead, as his body went limp instantly, eyes rolling back as he collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

Silence fell over the clearing.

Seeing how effortlessly Alec had taken down one of the strongest Tier 5 mages among them, the rest of the Tier 5 warriors immediately mellowed, even the much older Tier 6 mages watching from the side-lines furrowed their brows.

They had been observing closely, assessing Alec’s strength, and what they saw was undeniable, Alec hadn’t used a single ounce of mana.

And yet, with just his raw physical power alone it had resulted in an overwhelming defeat for the other mage.

That alone spoke volumes of his combat prowess which was already at the Tier 6 realm.

Alec dusted off his hands and let his gaze sweep across the gathered mages before speaking.

“I’ll say this just once.

I’m Alec Gordons, heir to the Gordons Bloodline and your leader.

You may be confused about it all, I understand, but that doesn’t change the fact that I am your leader.

If you don’t like it, step forward now and challenge me for it.

No mana.

A fair fight.

But if, after today, any of you cause trouble for me after I’ve made myself clear, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Though Alec spoke as if addressing everyone, but his words were aimed directly at the five Tier 6 mages standing off to the side, watching him in silence.

From his display just now, it was clear to everyone, from the Tier 5 mages down to the Tier 1 mages, that they stood no chance against him in a fight.

The only ones capable of challenging his claim to leadership were the Tier 6 mages.

So, if anyone was unhappy with Alec’s declaration, it was up to a Tier 6 mage to step forward and act on it.
