The Golem Mage

742: Overlord Cybernetic Golem.

742: Overlord Cybernetic Golem.

[Note: Since the golem in question has undergone manual evolution previously, the system will provide guidance and additional perks but will not directly shape Legion’s evolution.]

With that message, a new sidebar appeared beside the notification, offering Alec the opportunity to grant Legion one additional perk, a reward for being a manually crafted golem, a truly unique entity in this world.

There were numerous options to choose from, such as elemental control, increased durability, or enhanced agility, however, one particular choice caught Alec’s attention, something he knew Legion would value immensely.

“Get ready, buddy, you’re about to have your own little army,” Alec murmured with a grin as he selected the Minion Creation option.

The moment he made his selection, an ethereal burst of light shot out from him and was absorbed by the metallic egg encasing Legion in the air.

Alec didn’t even need to check his system to know that some of his system points had been deducted for the action that just occurred, after all it was only the system that used this medium to execute things it wanted done.

But just as he was starting to feel satisfied, a series of new sidebars popped up in front of him, to his astonishment, ten additional screens appeared, each requesting him to choose the type of cybernetic golem models to create as Legion’s minions.

Excited, Alec tried opening one of the screens to begin customizing, but a sudden error message halted him in his tracks.

[Error!!!]

[To configure sub-golems, the main golem’s body frame must be completed first.]

Understanding the issue instantly, Alec realized that while Legion was in the process of evolving, the evolution route had to follow a manual pathway, the system couldn’t intervene directly with the shaping of the body but would still assist by generating materials like the metallic egg encasing Legion and offering step-by-step advice.

Alec smirked as he navigated the advanced options the system was unveiling, despite the overwhelming complexity, all he could think about was a movie from his past life

Iron Man, yea, Alec couldn’t help but feel like a tech-savvy, genius billionaire like Tony Stark as the light-blue holographic screens floated before him, each one requiring his attention.

When he opened Legion’s customization screen, he was greeted with various design options for body parts.

At the very edge of the interface were two key options: Base Form/ combat suit and Mecha Form.

Alec immediately recognized the term “Mecha.” After all, back on Earth, he had spent countless hours playing a mech-themed game called Mech Arena, he then chuckled to himself before questioning the system spirit.

“Hey, is this some kind of memory manipulation?

Is the system trying to link me back to my previous life just because I recreated Legion based on an inspired idea from that world?” Alec asked aloud, his tone skeptical.

The system spirit’s response, as cryptic as ever, was brief.

X: “Who knows what it thinks.”

Shrugging off the unhelpful reply, Alec focused on recreating Legion’s Base Form, which on a transparent image on the edge was designed to be humanoid in shape, a towering, human-like cyborg soldier.

It stood significantly taller than the average human, with its immense power compactly stored in its sleek frame, and embedded in the image chest was a neutral Tier 6 power crystal, a rarity that would regulate and contain its mana reserves.

As Alec worked, he couldn’t help but marvel at how easily he could get almost impossible resources and materials as long as he had system points to pay.

Without the system’s assistance, Alec would have never even dreamed of creating something as intricate and powerful as Legion nor did he know what his fate would have been now.

Funny enough, Alec designed Legion facials to resemble himself, at least slightly, the ninja masked like cyborg warrior bore subtle similarities to its master, enough for anyone who looked deeply at its cyborg eyes to notice, the realization made Alec grin.

Legion wasn’t just any ordinary golem, it was a fusion of two worlds.

It was a Golem because it was born from magic and it uses magic to function, Alec’s own mastery of magic in this world had gave it life and it was a Cyborg because of the technological ingenuity that it’s body was shaped in due to memories of Alec’s previous life, it was something entirely unprecedented, something that mutated from two distinct World knowledge, a Cybernetic Golem capable of shifting into a Mecha form.

As Alec fine-tuned Legion’s facial features, the rest of the body began reconstructing itself automatically by themselves, Alec watched in awe as the metallic egg suspended in the air emitted the sounds of hammering, screwing, and grinding, bringing the shorter yet more imposing version of Legion to life.

Despite its shorter stature compared to its previous form, what Alec was watching in his screen, he felt it still towered over him.

“I guess this is happening in real-time,” Alec muttered, realizing that every change he made through the system was being instantly reflected in Legion’s evolving body.

The system seemed to be working overtime, channelling mana with precision to push Legion into a perfect Tier 6 evolution.

As the base form neared completion, Alec attempted to access the Mecha form’s customization options.

However, instead of being allowed to manually shape its body, only one option was available:

[ With your Overlord Cybernetic Golem reaching the Mid Ranks before its evolution to the Lord Rank, it is entitled to pick two classes: ]

-Attacker

-Tanker

-Support

-Scout

[ Your selection will help define the best state and form for the Golem in its Mecha form.

]

Reading the options, Alec immediately had an idea of what this meant.

It almost felt like he was back in his gaming days, except this time, it wasn’t a game, it was reality.

He had never heard of a Mech being able to specialize in two classes before, while some might master multiple weapon types due to their pilots , having two defined classes was still unheard of.

“This must be another perk of the system,” Alec thought, a grin forming on his face.

Without hesitation, he chose Tanker and Attacker, wondering if this evolution would grant Legion two distinct abilities.

The thought of Legion having dual-class capabilities made Alec’s blood pump with excitement.

He was trembling slightly, not from fear, but from sheer anticipation, it was all so familiar, like a fusion of the game mechanics he once loved and the magic he now commanded.

As he immersed himself in the process, a system notification popped up, pulling him out of his thoughts:

[ Knight has levelled up.

]

[ Mid-Tier 5 Mage achieved.

]

Alec smirked.

Progress was happening everywhere, and the thrill of it was intoxicating.
