“Move it!

Don’t rush, and don’t scatter the line!

Anyone who steps out of line or tries to cause chaos will be punished!” Agnes commanded, ensuring that those making their way out of the Royal Grand Arena adhered to the planned formation that they have created.

Four organized lines had been established to accommodate the limited space at the exit the War God Mage Academy team had taken control off.

It was crucial that no one rushed, as a fall could lead to a stampede, crushing anyone beneath the chaos, and such an incident could trigger a domino effect, causing further casualties after he first, something Alec clearly didn’t want, which was why he had assumed command of the team using his authority as the highest ranked captain.

He was not just commanding them as their team leader again; no, he had also invoked the military command system that all students of the War God Mage Academy were required to follow in emergency situations like this.

With his authority he had asked his team to take control of one of the exit points, steadily guiding the lower ranked mages out of the arena.

These mages would be of no use to them in the battle against the demons, and might be used as cannon fodders by others, an outcome Alec was determined to prevent so the death toll won’t be much, which is why he had assigned his team to oversee the evacuation.

Just then, a group of five winged demons swept toward the exit point the War God Academy team was defending.

The demons, clearly were excited by the prospect of having many human lifeforms gathered in one spot, and had separated from their flock to feast.

As soon as Agnes spotted them, she signalled Lucas who was nearby.

In an instant, he launched into the air, his body fully clad in his blue spirit equipment.

Recognizing the life-and-death situation they were in, he didn’t hold back and unleashed his full power from the outset.

Filled with energy, Lucas raised his glaive high and sent a powerful horizontal Qi strike coated in lightning energy toward the five flying demons before him.

Bang!

A deafening explosion erupted as the lightning coated Qi blade struck the harpy demon in the lead.

Its body convulsed violently, and its muscles were rendered numb by the surge of electricity, however, the remaining four demons flanking it pressed forward relentlessly.

With their combined strength and razor sharp talons, they managed to finally disperse the enhanced, lightning infused Qi blade.

“Five against one?

Sweet!

Bring it on!” Lucas roared, exhilaration burning in his eyes.

For the first time, he wasn’t up against mages so overpowering that his efforts felt futile.

Instead, he felt his long suppressed battle spirit ignite, his hidden thirst for combat surging to the surface.

“Lucas, Brandon, what’s your recovery status?” Agnes called out, her voice steady and commanding as she glanced at the two mages holding the lines alongside Beatrice and Knight.

“I’ve got enough in me to go a few rounds tossing enemies around.” Arthur responded first, his voice brimming with confidence.

Brandon followed suit, raising a thumbs-up to signal his readiness.

“Good, go back up that battle maniac before he gets himself injured!

We’re not looking for casualties today!” Agnes ordered sharply.

At her command, both Arthur and Brandon sprang into action, manipulating the ground beneath their feet to propel themselves into the air with earth pillars.

And when they were airborne they circulated their mana, just to stabilise themselves mid-flight as they advanced toward Lucas.

“Why not send me in?” Beatrice asked, frustration evident in her voice.

She had grown tired of standing idle while the others engaged in combat.

Before Alec had ascended into the Tier 6 battlefield, he had left his team with strict instructions, the first being that they must ensure the evacuation of the low-rank mages at all costs.

Second, in his absence, everyone was to follow Agnes’s commands as though they were his own, and If anything were to ever happen to Agnes, then Beatrice was to assume leadership and guide the team as she saw fit.

At first, Beatrice hadn’t questioned Alec’s decision to appoint Agnes as the leader, even though it meant bypassing several mages who were technically stronger, and the primary reason for her silence was simple: Beatrice didn’t want the responsibility of others’ lives resting on her shoulders, despite the fact that she was the vice captain.

Unlike most members from the Marionette clan, who thrived on the thrill of control and the manipulation of those around them, Beatrice was different.

She was perfectly content with her puppets and found no joy in wielding power over real people, still, she assumed Alec’s decision was rooted in his respect for Agnes’s intelligence and her knack for handling high-pressure situations.

So, Beatrice had played along.

But now, as she watched others take action while she remained idle, her patience wore thin.

“No, you’re too valuable to be deployed now,” Agnes said in response to Beatrice’s unspoken frustration, her tone calm yet firm.

“Don’t worry, it’s clear we won’t be left alone for long, more will come soon, and when they do, you’ll be too busy to remember that you weren’t part of the first wave of action.”

It was almost as if Agnes could see right through Beatrice’s cold exterior and into her intentions.

Meanwhile, Lucas, who had been rotating his glaive to build momentum, and preparing to charge at the five winged harpy demons, suddenly noticed Brandon and Arthur appear on his flanks.

“Hey!

Leave those three at the front for me!” Lucas barked, shooting them a pointed glance.

Brandon and Arthur exchanged a look, shrugging in silent agreement.

Neither of the two shameless clansmen from the Gordon Clan felt like competing with Lucas over their targets.

“Let’s go!” Lucas yelled, dashing forward with unrestrained enthusiasm.

Arthur followed suit, moving to the left flank, as his body shimmered as it became encased in the silver sheen of his golem armour, transforming his aura into something fierce and imposing.

With a powerful swing, he unleashed his right fist which was coated in a silver Qi, that gave off a sharp and lethal vibes.

While the two charged ahead, Brandon stayed back, weaving intricate patterns in the air with his hands.

The debris that scattered across the ground from the blast began to levitate, but instead of remaining whole, the particles compressed under intense pressure, crumbling into fine grains of sand.
