THE GOD EATER

However, he suddenly he remembered that he owed the Four Directions Sect a lot of money, which was due in ten minutes.

He was sure that the sect had given him that time because they wanted him to exchange the heart of Oceania that he took, so it wasn’t as if they were concerned that he wouldn’t be able to pay the debt back, and wanted to give him time to find the money.

As selfish as the motive of the sect was, he still appreciated the time they gave him to prepare. But he didn’t use the time to prepare. Instead, he used it to eat everything he had.

He even ate his Cave Heaven. Then he activated the Rewind Metac and disappeared into the River of Time. He was basically dining and dashing.

As he escaped into the River of Time, he said, ”So long, sucker!”

He said this at the last moment before he entered the River of Time. He picked that time to say it so that nothing would be able to stop him if anyone got angry with him because of what he said.

Apparently, even though he was behaving fearlessly, he wasn’t entirely without fear. This fear was because he wasn’t entirely sure what Dao Lords are capable of, and he was in a vulnerable state after destroying his Cave Heaven.

However, now that he had escaped, he didn’t have anything to worry about. But he didn’t use this as an opportunity to say unsavory things about the Dao Lord.

Instead, he chuckled and said, ”If I am being honest, the Dao Lords are doing a good job enslaving people and blocking them from breaking free from their control.”

”If I were in their position, I would do the same thing or even worse. This is why I respect them. They simply deserve to be respected.”

Then the tone of his voice became serious as he said, ”That aside, I would be very angry if everything I did to advance to rank 7 was a waste of time.”

Deep down, he is at most 30% sure that he will be able to advance to rank 7. This 30% is the limit of his optimism. Without being optimistic, he will be at most 10% sure of advancing to rank 7.

With the chances of failure being so high, he said, ”If I fail, I have to find another way to advance. Taking Money Body’s path and becoming a world king is out of the question. I have too much to lose with that option.”

”That leaves the option to try ancient cultivation and the option to get a Supreme Metac. Ancient cultivation might be weak, but if I don’t have a choice, I will have to go with it.”

”Besides, ancient cultivation might be weak for others, but it might not be weak for me. After all, I have Fenrir. So ancient cultivation might be a great fit for me.”

After thinking about this, he shook his head and said, ”The problem with that option is that I don’t know where to start regarding the ancient cultivation. If I want to find useful information about ancient cultivation, I should ask the oldest beings I know.”

”Someone like Money Body won’t do. For him to become desperate enough to become world king, either he didn’t know how to cultivate in the ancient way, or he knew, but ancient cultivation couldn’t help him.”

”My bet is on the former. I don’t think he knows about ancient cultivation. After all, the dragons were already in decline when he became a divine being.”

”According to ancient history, ancient cultivation had fallen before the dragons lost control. It was the new cultivators who usurped the power of dragons. So if he didn’t know how the dragons were defeated, he couldn’t know how the ancient cultivators fell.”

After rejecting Money Body, the name of someone more suitable flashed through his mind. This name made him nod in satisfaction and say, ”Yes. Slav is the oldest and most powerful person I know. He should know what ancient cultivation is. If he doesn’t know, then there is no one else I can ask.”

Then he smiled and said, ”Coincidentally, I also need his help with getting a Supreme Metac to use. So I should ask him about ancient cultivation while I’m taking his Supreme Metac.”

”Of course, I won’t do the two at the same time. I’ll ask him about ancient cultivation before I take his Supreme Metac. I am not barbaric. I know that to be courteous when I ask someone for something.”

”Just in case, I should acquire as much power before I go over to him. And if I still fail to get the Supreme Metac from him, I will have to get it from Money Body.”

His smile turned into a savage grin as he said, ”One way or another, Money Body will be useful to me. Then I will beat him to death.’

While he was planning for the future, the Rewind Metac had taken him into the past. When they reached the end of the road, the Rewind Metac left the River of Time and dropped him into his body in the past.

From there, he began digesting everything that he had eaten in the previous timeline and got busy converting it to power. Fenrir was so stuffed that he didn’t have enough mental resources to allow his mind to wander in thought.

The first thing that Fenrir digested was the world seed, not the heart of a large world or the four Divine Positions. Loki could understand why Fenrir was so eager since the world seed is literally the only thing among everything that he ate that Fenrir wanted to eat.

Everything else that he ate was a hanger-on. For reasons he didn’t know, the world seed was the most important thing to Fenrir.

His expectations for the world seed were low, though. He didn’t expect much from it because he had an inkling that the sect didn’t think it was valuable.
