THE GOD EATER

They didn.t fight now, but many people were so offended that they swore that they would go out of their way to pick on the others when they are at their lowest point, even if there was little to be gained from doing so.

What was even worse was that the deceivers had decided to start an assassination service. That way, they would be able to earn more over this accusation that had been levied against them.

Actually, nearly every deceiver believed that one of them was responsible for the killing spree that had happened in the second heaven. So by starting their assassination service, they would only be joining in the sect business and earning their due for bearing the infamy.

While they were arguing, the giant warrior who had spoken earlier chose this moment to grumble and say, ”What I care about exactly is the cost of spirit creatures. The cost of spirit creatures has risen through the roof now.”

When a death cultivator heard this, he laughed and said, ”That’s good, right? My spirit creatures have suddenly become expensive, so I became rich overnight.”

A transformation warrior nodded in agreement and said, ”It really is a good thing for us spirit farmers. Now I hope that spirit creatures will become more expensive.”

When the giant warrior heard this, his eyes gleamed with ruthlessness as he said, ”It is people like you who are making the matter worse. You horde spirit creatures and always raise the price to pay. If I were you, I would watch my back from now on.”

He was threatening them, but the transformation warrior and the Death cultivator didn’t care. The two of them have gotten very rich because of this crisis, and the fact that someone hates them because of their good luck is only making them feel more pleasure in artificially raising the price of spirit creatures and ripping people off.

The most that the giant warrior could do was threaten people or argue with them. But this argument was just a drop in the bucket of what was already happening around them.

Even the rank 8 cultivators had begun to suspect each other. As usual, the rank 8 deceiver was the one to bear the most suspicion.

Because of this atmosphere of suspicion, no rank 8 cultivator was willing to enter the second heaven. They decided to avoid the second heaven, mostly to avoid trouble, but it was also to prove that they had nothing to do with the murders. After all, if they didn’t enter the second heaven, they couldn’t have killed anyone there.

Loki’s actions clearly had far-reaching consequences, but he had no intention of stopping. He only paused for a while to give the divine beings the facade of peace and safety in the second heaven.

He let this peace continue for a year, during which many divine beings finally thought that the second heaven was safe and began entering it again to find spirit creatures. Then, everything changed when a very powerful rank 7 cultivator who had reached the limit of the size of their Cave Heaven was attacked and killed.

While he was attacking the rank 7 cultivator, he also sent the manifestations of Fenrir to help him kill some weak rank 6 cultivators. That way, he was able to bring down an extra rank 7 cultivator and three rank 6 cultivators.

After this banquet, he went into hiding again. He didn’t attack anyone anymore and made it look as if he had turned a new leaf.

Unfortunately, the community of divine beings wasn’t so easily fooled this time around.

This time, it took even longer than two years for the divine beings to return to the second heaven. It also took longer for him to get the right target to kill because strong divine beings were hesitant to step into the second heaven.

The first facade of peace had taken two years to take root. Then he had waited another year to find the right target.

This time, the facade took three years to take root. It also took two more years after that before the powerful rank 7 cultivators that he liked to hunt returned to the second heaven.

So when he started hunting again, and the divine beings realized that they had been fooled, he was sure that it would take even longer before they would take the risk to return to the second heaven.

When he thought about what he was doing, he chuckled as he thought to himself, ’It is as if I am a farmer who lets his field fallow for a while before replanting. However, this farm knows that there is some tricky business going on, so it will take longer and longer to recover for replanting.’

’The first time took 3 years, while the second time took 5 years. Therefore, the third rest time will either take 7 years or 8.33 years.’

’I can’t wait for 7 more years to advance to rank 7. I’ve already spent 11 years in this timeline. An extra 7 years will bring that up to 18, which I can’t bear.’

’Besides, I’ve killed four rank 7 divine beings and 16 rank 6 cultivators. Combined with what I’ve gained from the three money cultivators, the 16 small worlds that I raided, and the four Divine Positions I can use openly in battle, I should have enough power to preserve my life in Oceania. So I’m set for the mission.’

After making up his mind, he checked his stats with the Power Identification Ability.
