THE GOD EATER

Along the way, Money Body and Nether Flame didn’t say anything. Loki didn’t mind this and was content with being quiet, but the last one in the group had something she wanted to say.

She said with some fear in her voice, ”Was that a dragon?”

Nether Flame nodded at her. He didn’t speak, and his expression was grim as he nodded, but this only made his silent answer more impactful.

Then Money Body increased the pressure when he smiled and said, ”It is not an ordinary dragon, either. It is a dragon king.”

He was smiling, but this did nothing to alleviate the fear in Blood Sword. She looked around warily as she said, ”Does that mean that there is more than one dragon in this world?”

Nether Flame nodded again, while Money Body said, ”There should be six of them.”

When Loki heard this, he fought the urge to roll his eyes. But he indulged himself by thinking, ’He is at it again.’

Blood Sword didn’t know that the person she should be most afraid of right now was the rank 8 money cultivator in front of her. She was too focused on the potential danger of the dragons to realize how much danger she really was in, so she began contemplating retreat instead of deciding to retreat right now.

She didn’t speak her thoughts, but Money Body knew what she was thinking. In order to alleviate her fears, he snorted and said, ”What are you worried about? It is clear that I can handle the dragon king, so what’s the worst that can happen?”

Blood Sword nodded in understanding and said in reply, ”I guess I let the stories of dragons exaggerate their power and my fear of them.”

When Money Body heard her words, he nodded in satisfaction and said, ”You don’t have anything to fear. Not only am I strong, but this won’t be the first time I’m fighting dragons. I know how we can defeat them, so trust me when I say victory is only a matter of time.”

Blood Sword took the bait and asked, ”How do we defeat them?”

Money Body immediately said, ”It is simple. As long as we kill the other dragons and take their dragon heart, the dragon king will become weaker.”

”With my power, we only need to kill one dragon for the dragon king to become a little bit weaker than me. If we kill two dragons, the dragon kill will become very easy to kill.”

”The dragon king is the only rank 8 dragon here. The others are rank 7 and rank 6. I will hold off the dragon king while you guys deal with the others.”

Blood Sword finally relaxed when she heard this. She even cheered up and said, ”In that case, this mission will surely be a success.”

Money Body only chuckled and said, ”As long as you do your part, we have nothing to worry about.”

By this time, they reached the island. The island was full of plants and trees, and some small animals. All in all, it was unremarkable.

But Money Body was satisfied with it. He nodded in satisfaction after inspecting it one last time and said, ”This will do nicely.”

Then he said to Loki, ”Set up the outpost core.”

Loki thought about refusing the order, but he didn’t want a fallout with Money Body just yet. So he went ahead to plant the outpost core at the center of the island.

The outpost core was a large metal cube engraved with runes. When Loki dropped it to the ground and activated it with his life energy, cracks appeared on its metallic surface.

The cracks spread throughout the metal cube and began to widen. As the cracks on the surface of the metal cube widened, the metal cube was forced to unfurl.

The metal cube unfurled like a flower spreading its petals. And just like an ordinary flower, buzzing bees came out of it.

However, the bees were anything but normal. First of all, the buzzing sound that the wings of the bees made was different from what normal bees made.

The bees sounded like the static of radios and televisions. The buzzing bees were also made out of metal.

The outpost core produced tens of thousands of bees. Loki counted them and discovered that they were exactly 91 thousand bees.

The bees surged out of the metal flower into their surroundings, revealing the crystal gem at the center of the outpost core. This crystal gem was white, and it was opaque like stone.

The metal bees first went around surveying the surroundings. Whenever they found a material that they found useful, they would settle down on the material to eat it.

They would eat anything they found useful, no matter how hard it was. They would also call other bees to join them in harvesting the useful material.

This way, whenever a bee found a useful material, the material would soon be covered in bees gnawing at it. The number of bees eating the useful material would only increase over time.

The bees wouldn’t stop coming to eat the useful material until the material had been completely eaten. This turned out to be less than a minute in most cases.

After they were done eating the useful material, the metal bees would return to the outpost core. Then the bees would regurgitate what they had eaten onto the white gem.

The white crystal gemstone would absorb everything that was regurgitated. It would use the absorbed materials as nutrients to grow bigger. As more bees fed it, the white crystal became bigger and bigger.

While this was happening, the will of the world wasn’t idle. The will of the world didn’t know what they were doing on the island or had any clue what they hoped to achieve with the metal flower, but whatever it was that they were up to, the will of the world wasn’t about to let them succeed unopposed.
