Chapter 143: More and More Battles

Shalia and the daitya continued to exchange blows. She continuously shot arrows, and the daitya destroyed them without stopping.

The daitya was able to destroy every arrow shot by Shalia, but it didnʼt come without a cost.

With every arrow, injuries on the daityas hand accumulated. Finally, the hands gave up, and they got destroyed to a paste due to an explosion caused by the arrow despite having a regeneration rate that could be considered almost divine.

Shalia, seeing the daitya losing both his hands, didnʼt stop and instead shot another arrow as the daityaʼs hands started healing right away.

The arrow, right before it could touch the daitya, exploded and engulfed the daitya. The next moment, the daitya disintegrated into ashes, and then ashes vanished into nothingness.

She did this because daityas had the ability to revive themselves from even a single drop of blood irrespective of their level due to them having the blood of the clan of Asura. So the only way to kill a daitya was to completely erase them from existence.

[Congratulations, youʼve successfully defeated your opponent on the fortieth floor. Please proceed to the next floor.]

The next moment, the familiar winning announcement rang inside her head, and the portal to the following floor emerged as well.

She expressionlessly took a step forward and entered the portal.

The next moment, she appeared on the next floor. It had a completely different appearance from the previous floor.

Even for someone like her, the area looked endless, and she couldnʼt find any stairs to climb to reach the top no matter how far she looked. Instead, the floor looked like a flat world made up of concrete.

She had taken a step forward when suddenly she heard an announcement inside her head.

[Welcome to the floor of Immortals, Participant!]

Shalia ignored it and took a step forward since there were no stairs and she couldnʼt see her opponent.

When she took her 108th step, a blue light suddenly appeared in the endless area. The next moment, the light disappeared, and her opponent appeared.

It was a Human male. Shalia took out her bow from her pocket space and shot an arrow, aiming at the head of the man.

The man blankly looked at the arrow approaching him. Right when it was in front of him, there was a sudden movement from him, and the next moment, it got deflected.

The crowd outside couldnʼt see what had happened. Even Lenna didnʼt know what had happened, but inside the floor, Shalia knew. At the last possible minute, the man pulled out his sword and softly brushed the arrowhead with the back of his weapon, deflecting the arrow.

The next moment, the man disappeared from his place. He had intended to reach Shalia swiftly and end the conflict, but an arrow approached him just as he was about to arrive. He had no choice but to stop and move out of the way since the arrow gave a dangerous sensation to him.

Shalia didnʼt stop and shot one arrow after another. The man decided to let go of the plan to engage her in close combat since she would never let him.

The next moment, the air on the endless floor reversed its direction as the man started moving randomly.

It may have looked random to the crowd, but Shalia could see the man was following a pattern. He would move right, then forward, then left, then backward. He would then move forward, then left, then backward, and then right.

Shalia knew an attack was coming and she didnʼt think giving a chance to attack to an Immortal was a good idea, so she shot arrows.

It may have looked like a lot of time had passed, but it has only been three seconds since the battle on the floor began.

When they got close to the man, all of Shaliaʼs arrows came to a sudden halt and froze in the air.

Suddenly the air started moving as it should have while all the arrows that had gotten stuck a moment earlier fell down the ground.

Shalia knew an attack was coming at her, and she was ready. She chanted some mantra and shot an arrow aiming at the unseeable ceiling of the floor.

He ignored the arrow and released the skill he had been working on.

The next moment, flashes of seven colors appeared from the manʼs sword and tried to engulf Shalia, but before it could, a transparent energy field suddenly emerged to stop the strike.

The seven flashes first tried to break the shield, but nothing happened. The next moment, as if the strikes were sentient, they combined and created a white strike.

The white flash was able to break the energy field, but Shalia was nowhere to be seen.

The man got taken aback by the sudden turn of events. He looked all around to see where she was, but he didnʼt find her.

He was only thinking of releasing his strongest attack to force her out. He stopped in his tracks as he heard a gentle cold voice that looked like it had come from the deepest part of hell.

”Looking for me?” Shalia coldly said as she appeared right behind the man.

Before the man could think anything, he suddenly found himself sinking. He looked down and found every body part below his head was gone, and the next moment, the million tiny symmetrical pieces of his head joined his countless symmetrical body pieces on the ground.

”An initial Heavenly Monarch forced me to use the sword,” She mumbled while shaking her head disappointedly. She then glanced at the pieces lying down on the ground in a pool of blood. A red fire appeared on the tip of her finger, and she lighted the body parts the next moment. In no time, it turned into ashes.

She was better at using swords than bows, and she had never expected to use the sword until she had reached the forty-third floor.

The next moment, the winning announcement rang inside her head, and also, the portal for the next floor appeared.

Lenna couldnʼt help but shake her head, seeing her motherʼs actions on the forty-one floor.

While her mother always appeared gentle, she turned into a cruel demon whenever she picked up the sword.

Time flew by.. Only ten out of four hundred and eighty participants remained in the tower, competing for the top and the tower.
