The First Store System

Chapter 142: More Battles

With every passing moment, the range of the black hole grew wider while the energy ball started getting smaller.

It looked like Lenna was going to win when suddenly, the energy ball condensed itself into a shape of marble, and the next moment before Lenna could understand what happened.

”BOOM!”

The energy ball expanded and exploded with a sound even louder than the clash of Chaotic Thunder.

The force of the explosion knocked Lenna backward. She fell down on the ground with a thud sound after the wall of the floor stopped her.

”Ugh!” She groaned in pain as she felt her spine crack into several pieces after the rough landing.

She tried to sit straight using the help of her bow when she found a shadow engulfing her. She looked up and saw the wyrm flying at her.

”Whoosh!”

The next moment, she shot an arrow using everything she had and then fell down on the ground. She now didnʼt even have enough energy to sit straight.

The arrow flew at the wyrm tearing through the air. While in the air, a blue fire engulfed the arrow and its speed increased even more.

It was Agneyastra, one of the arrows related to the fire element. The fire released by it was unextinguishable.

The arrow and the wyrm clashed midair, and the sound of a scream echoed in the area. The blue fire that had engulfed the arrow had now overwhelmed the wyrm.

With each passing moment, the wyrmʼs skin looked as though it were melting. The wyrm still didnʼt stop and continued flying towards Lenna. The next moment, it reached her.

Its eyes had unquenchable hate due to the fire not extinguishing and hurting it. Lenna didnʼt even have enough energy to look up into the eyes of the wyrm.

The next moment, the wyrm roared in pain and anger at Lennaʼs face and bit her head off, killing her and ending her journey in the event.

The next moment, Lenna appeared on the platform and touched her head. She then heaved a sigh of relief, finding herself alive since, in the last moments, she had forgotten that she was participating in an event and couldnʼt die.

Looking at the screen, she counted that more than half of the 480 sections were still playing, so the event was still far from over. She couldnʼt help but feel disappointed after coming out this early, but when she saw most of the participantʼs floors, she understood that she hadnʼt exited early, but instead, she had won her fights faster in comparison to most of the participants.

She then focused on the screen her grandmother was on. Elasha was currently only on the thirty-first floor(late Tao Seed). Her opponent was also an Elf.

It was one of the species of the Dark Elf. It was a female Elf. she had black skin, black hair, and black eyes. Since it belonged to the race Five-eyed Dark Elf, it had five eyes, with two layers of two eyes and the fifth eye on the top.

Of all the eyes, her fifth eye was closed. It would only open when the Elf is at their last moments of life. After its opening, the Elf would become the same as before, while the eye would turn grey. So Five-eyed Dark Elf is also known as beings with two lives.

A dumbfounded expression appeared on Lennaʼs face when she looked at the screen where Elasha was. Instead of fighting her opponent, Elasha was sitting on a throne made out of leaves while her opponent was kneeling in front of her.

”So tell me, why do you want to kill me?” Elasha asked, looking at her opponent.

She had just defeated her a moment earlier. It was the first race she had come across whose language she could understand, so she decided not to kill her right away and instead ask some questions.

”Because you want to kill us,” The Dark Elf responded while her face was down, looking at the ground. She had no choice in what she was doing. It was as if a will was forcing her to kneel and answer truthfully, and she wasnʼt able to defeat that will.

”If I let you go. Would you stop trying to kill me?” Elasha asked. A smile had appeared on her face hearing the Elfʼs answer, but since she had worn a mask, no one could see it.

”No, I would still kill you,” The Elf honestly responded.

”Why?” Elasha asked.

”Because you want to kill us,” The Elf responded with the same answer.

Elasha couldnʼt help but shake her head disappointedly, hearing the same answer. ”I thought the store owner has granted you a perfect mind to think and act, but it seems I was wrong,” She mumbled to herself.

”But, itʼs also a lot to expect from the store owner. The tower is already an Immortal level treasure, and any participant could win it only after paying a paltry sum of 100 ordinary Primal stones as the participation fee. Whoever wins the tower would already have a great advantage by having the opponents speak,” She mumbled further.

She then looked at the Elf kneeling in front of her and snapped her fingers. The next moment, the Elf disintegrated into ashes.

[Congratulations, youʼve successfully defeated the opponent on the thirty-first floor. Please proceed to the next floor.]

The next moment, the winning announcement rang inside her head, and the portal for the next floor appeared where the ashes of the Elf were.

She then stood from the throne made up of leaves, and the next moment, the leaves flew away after a gust of wind touched it.

Elasha stepped into the portal and appeared on the next floor.

Lenna then focused on her motherʼs screen. She was currently fighting on the fortieth floor(Peak Tao Palace). Her opponent was a daitya.

Shalia was fighting against a male daitya who was on the verge of a breakthrough to the complete Maharathi warrior.

Daityas were usually stronger in one-on-one combat when it came to the majority of the races, but Shalia was a late Heavenly Monarch, so the power gap between them was too wider to compete.

But still, the daitya didnʼt let Shalia win the battle as easily as she had expected. Every arrow she shot, the daitya destroyed it with a punch since the daitya specialized in hand combat.
