The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 248: What’s the Point?

”Raysig!”

”Raysig!”

When they saw Raysig getting sent flying by Shienʼs kick, everyone following Farbin yelled out in shock.

”He attacked!”

”Oh gods!”

The adventurers around all also started shouting, turning the scene chaotic.

”What are you doing!?”

”You dare!”

Jifgause and Katarine were enraged. Both of them lowered their hands down to their waist and drew their swords.

The knights surrounding them also reacted. They too were all enraged and were about to pull out their weapons. Just as they were about to surround Shien though, Farbin shouted out.

”All of you, stop!”

Farbin stopped everyone, making all the knights freeze there on the spot, not daring to move.

Farbin then focused on Shien with a dark look as he spoke while holding back his anger.

”Whatʼs the meaning of this?” Farbin accused in a low tone.

”Shouldnʼt I be the one asking that?” Shien however was unshaken as he smirked, ”The one who drew his sword was your vice captain, you know? But now youʼre blaming me? In that case, I have no choice but to report this matter to her highness and allow her to make the judgment.”

Farbin froze at that and immediately changed his stance.

”No, thereʼs no need for that.” Although Farbin was angry still, he had no choice but to supress his anger, ”This time, itʼs our fault. We-”

Unfortunately for him, Farbin wasnʼt able to finish his sentence.

Itʼs because the person involved from the start exploded first.

”Dame it! You bastard!”

Raysig got back up from where he landed. He was completely enraged, making him roar out in anger.

”You dared to kick me? A mere adventurer! You dare!”

Those works in anger not only failed to make Shien mad, it instead only made Shien look down on Raysig even more.

After all, this brainless guy had already forgotten that it wasnʼt just Shien here as the only adventurer.

Not unexpectedly, the adventurers around them started sporting ugly looks of their own.

”Raysig!”

”Shut up!”

Seeing that, Jifgause and Katarine were both alarmed and hurriedly rebuked him.

Raysig also realized the problem with his words just now, having noticed the angry glares of the adventurers around them. His eyes thus twitched uncontrollably, and the anger on his face only became more pronounced.

Seeing the change in atmosphere and how his own group seems to have become the enemies of the adventurers, Farbin was forced to speak up again while angrily glaring at Raysig.

”Alright, enough. This is all a misunderstanding.”

Farbin hurriedly spoke out.

”Since Sir Shien is obstinate in his wish to enter the canyon, we of course cannot possibly stop you. Thus, we can only wish you success in your goals.”

With those words, Farbin acted as if he didnʼt want to stay any longer and instead turned to Raysig and started whispering angrily at him.

”Come with me!”

With that, Farbin walked off while noticeably high-strung and headed back to the knightsʼ camps.

”Letʼs go.”

”Weʼre going back.”

Jifgause and Katarine also have their own quiet warnings with a disappointed tone before also leaving.

”Gasp, gasp.”

Raysig violently gasped with unreleased rage. He glared hatefully at Shien as if trying to kill him with just his eyes.

When Shien saw Raysig act like that, he instead broke out in a wide smile.

That smile was a very taunting one.

Raysig really wanted to charge right in and cut Shien to pieces.

However, he also knew that if he tried to attack again right now, it definitely wonʼt go well for him.

”Remember this!”

Then, Raysig let out a growl of anger before turning about and leaving in a huff.

Leaving just Lana, who gave Shien a long stare before also turning and leaving.

The leaders of the National Knight Order ended up with egg on their face, and they all left the area with terrible expressions.

This made all the knights look at Shien with unkindly yet fearful expressions. In the end, none of them dared to do anything, so all of them could only scurry off.

Those adventurers on the other hand found the whole matter quite enjoyable.

”Those arrogant National Knights finally got some of whatʼs coming to them.”

”That was great.”

”Putting aside how they were before, but the National Knight Order has really been no good during the recent years. Even someone like Raysig Garibaldi was able to reach vice captain after all.”

”It canʼt be helped. Heʼs a genius prodigy after all.”

”He has the ability. Plus heʼs someone of the Garibaldi family. So he could get up there even without any brains to speak of.”

”Thatʼs why I didnʼt want to join the National Knight Order.”

The crowd of adventurers all stared chatting among themselves.

Shien on the other hand just looked at those people of the Garibaldi family as he muttered to himself in his mind.

”With how theyʼre acting, if the wasnʼt something suspicious going on, Iʼll eat shit while upside down.”

To have so easily let others notice that something was wrong, those guys really are kind of unqualified as villians.

Airi on the other hand, having personally witnessed all of this from the side, seems to have gotten a bit more interested.

”As a Hero, youʼre definitely unlike the others.” Airi gave Shien a glance as she spoke, ”This is the first time that Iʼve seen a hero as coarse as you. To actually kick someone the moment you end up in a conflict like that.”

”What else was I supposed to do? Just like that obviously side character like guy just keep on sarcastically taunting me?” Shien grimaced, ”You think Iʼm the kind of guy who could just take all that in stride, who wouldnʼt get mad even when others are acting disgustingly toward me?”

Sorry about that. Iʼm just that simple and rough kind of guy, who has no compunctions against turning to violence if things donʼt go my way.

Besides that, ever since his time dealing with Markray, Shien had discovered that when dealing with those arrogant and prideful young noblemen, it feels absolutely the best to just sent them flying with a kick.

He has the royal token after all, so he could just use the princess as a shield. Since he has the princess covering him, then why not simply do as he like?

If he didnʼt do that, then isnʼt holding onto the royal token something thatʼs nothing but trouble then?

Shienʼs nowhere near that dumb.

Thus, since he has someone strong backing him, why not just be direct and forceful.

”Thatʼs why I said that youʼre unlike the rest.” Airi rolled her eyes at Shien, but she didnʼt act like she disliked it. In fact she even spoke with an appreciative tone, ”However, I do rather like your attitude. Itʼs not at all like those previous Heroes, who keep on rambling about saving the world and bringing peace. Who wouldnʼt hold back at all against demons, but only knows to turn the other cheek among the mortals. Seriously hypocritical.”

As one of the demon race who bows to strength, Airi seriously doesnʼt care for all those fake and insincere so called manners that humans are so attached to.

Somethingʼs up?

Why not just resolve it with a fight?

A problem?

Why not just resolve it with a fight?

The one who wins gets the right to speak. Isnʼt that the basic rule of the world?

They bother with all those useless things, but in the end, they canʼt even take a little punch from her. Whatʼs the point?

Airi, who thinks in such ways, was not only not put off by Shienʼs actions, but her opinion of him actually rose.

Shien then spoke to Airi, annoyed.

”Alright, letʼs head into the canyon already.”

Rather than those people, Shien just wants to confirm the safety of Vivian and her group.

Thus, Shien brought Airi along with him and entered the canyon.

When the adventurers saw this, they hurriedly tried to follow after, but was once again blocked by the knights.

A new round of arguments ensued.
