The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 247: “Go Off and Play With Bananas.”

At that moment, Shien saw pretty much the same thing from the eyes of those Garibaldi family members.

And that was surprise, shock and a certain amount of caution that came after.

Yes. It was caution.

Adding in the abnormalities that he detected earlier, Shienʼs smile turned knowing.

Airi on the other hand just yawned while keping by Shienʼs side, seemingly bored. Itʼs unknown just what kind of magic she used, but no one in the area had noticed her existence.

Otherwise, with how cute she is, thereʼs no way the people around here wouldnʼt have noticed her.

In this situation, Farbinʼs face sank. After a moment of silence, he came before Shien.

”I didnʼt think that it would be you sir. Please forgive me for not noticing.”

Farbin greeted Shien respectfully.

He didnʼt dare to look down on Shien at all.

Farbin was present during the previous audience after all. He personally experienced Shienʼs crushing presence, so he knew that although this person is young, his strength is unbelievable, and that he is someone that the royalty considers important.

Thus, Farbin is cautious and guarded, not daring to relax even a little.

It was Raysig by Farbins side on the other hand who spoke up sarcastically though.

”Whatʼs the popular guy by her highness doing in such an out of the way place like this? Youʼre not here to pick some didi flowers are you?”

The didi flowers that this arrogant looking vice captain speaks of is a kind of very beautiful magical flower that emits a sweet, charming scent.

This kind of flower can be used to produce potions that can heal injuries as well as certain kinds of strange potions. Itʼs base value is decent, but its beauty and scent makes it greatly sought after by women, including quite a few daughter of nobility who are obsessed with it. Thus, it has become a highly valuable gift, and is used very commonly as a present for women as a courting gift.

Raysig spoke of Shien being here to pick didi flowers, and the meaning behind that is that heʼs insulting Shien, calling him a man who is trying to climb socially by flattering the princess.

Shien immediately raised an eyebrow before speaking back with a smirk.

”I donʼt particularly have any desires to pick didi flowers, but if I manage to find some yiyi flowers, Iʼll definitely pick one for sir knight here.”

Raysigʼs expressions froze at those words.

The yiyi flowers Shien spoke of are another kind of magical flower. Itʼs completely opposite of the didi flowers. Not only is it extremely ugly, it also emits a terrible stench. It even has a poisonous factor to is, making anyone that smells its stench hallucinate scenes of themselves being tormented.

Thanks to that, this kind of flower is often used as a sneaky way of attacking people that one disliked. Itʼs been of quite some use among certain nobles.

Shien spoke of picking one for Raysig, which obviously meant that he disliked Raysig.

”You…!”

Raysig was obviously a hot blooded young nobleman. Having be insulted by Shien, he immediately blew his top with the intent to start fighting.

”Donʼt be impulsive!”

Jifgause immediately stopped Raysig.

”What are you thinking?”

Katarine even gave Raysig a glare.

Lana alone was just watching the proceedings without letting on what sheʼs thinking.

Farbin then proceeded onward.

”What might Sir be here for?”

Farbin asked with a serious tone.

”Captain Farbin should have heard your subordinatesʼ report, right?” Shien smiled slightly as he spoke ever so casually, ”Iʼm here to investigate the canyon under her highnessʼs request. Would sir captain care to let me past?”

”That…” Farbin showed a difficult expression. One could even call the expression on his face ugly.

Never mind Farbin, even the other four vice captainsʼ expressions also sank, all of them showing some abnormality.

The hotheaded Raysig even spoke up again.

”Whatʼs there to investigate about?” Raysig glared at Shien like heʼs an enemy as he yelled, ”This place is already sealed off. One one will enter, nor will anyone meet any dangers, so what need is there to investigate?”

In response to that, Shien ended up laughing out loud.

”Those words really are interesting.” Shien spoke like itʼs obvious, ”Putting aside the fact that of course the Kingdom needs to investigate any abnormality here for now, the fact is that this canyon is a treasure cove for adventuring. Many merchants and products of the Capital depends on the demonic beast materials and natural resources produced here to create their wares. If this place continues to be sealed off and the abnormalities remain unsolved, then wouldnʼt it cause all kinds problems for businesses in the Capital due to material shortages?”

”At that point, the Capital as a whole will probably end up affected by no small amount due to the chain reactions from its prided enterprises and economy, no?”

”And yet you claim that this situation doesnʼt require investigation. This young master. Do you really have a brain in that head of yours?”

Shien words without any semblance of politeness made Raysigʼs face twitch, and rage once again showed on his face.

If not for the fact that Jifgause and Katatrine were holding him back the whole time, he would definitely have already charged forward unthinkingly, right?

And someone like that is the vice captain of the National Knight Order?

Is the Kingdom really alright?

Shien started harboring a feeling of disdain in his mind.

Farbin on the other hand, after thinking it over with a frown, spoke thus.

”Since its her highnessʼs request, we, as National Knights, will of course cooperate.” Farbin spoke in a low tone, ”However, the demonic beasts within the Ataru Canyon has become extremely aggressive and dangerous. It may be rather imprudent to investigate on your own.”

That person had actually started being obstructive as well.

”Oh?” Shien spoke in a weird tone, ”Does this mean that sir captain is planning on ignoring her highnessʼs will then?”

”You misunderstand me.” Farbin spoke calmly, ”Iʼm merely concerned for Sirʼs safety.”

”Indeed.” Jifgauseʼs eyes went shifty and joined in from the side, ”Those demonic beasts really have become too dangerous now. I think itʼs better if Sir doesnʼt go in.”

”I believe so as well.” Katarine nodded in agreement from the side.

In response to that, Shien only had one thing to say.

”Are those demonic beasts more dangerous then, or are the Old Demon Faction more dangerous?”

That simple rebuttal instantly rendered Farbin and his group speachless.

But that sentence really was simple in its directness.

No matter how dangerous the demonic beasts of the Ataru Canyon are, thereʼs no way that theyʼd be more dangerous than the Old Demon Faction, right?

Theyʼve just become more aggressive, thatʼs all. Itʼs not like theyʼve become scarier.

”Demonic beasts are the enemy of humanity from the start. Theyʼll attack on sight. In that case, is there any difference between if theyʼre aggressive and dangerous or not?”

Farbin and his group had no way of refutting Shienʼs utterly calm words.

Seeing that, Raysig was once again unable to restrain himself.

”Iʼm telling you…”

Before Raysig could even finish that sentence, Shien instead interrupted with his own words.

”Shut up!” Shien shot at Raysig, ”The adults are talking here. A brainless monkey should go off to the side and play with his bananas, got it?”

Such rude words made everyone widen their eyes. Even Raysig stopped for a moment.

Then, Raysig exploded in anger.

”Shink!”

With a metallic sound, Raysid drew the sword at his waist.

However, at the same moment, a foot shot forth in a kick and landed heavily upon Raysigʼs body.

”Bang!”

The sound of an impact rang out.

”Gah!”

Raysig screamed out before he was sent flying.

Shien had sent that idiot flying with a single kick.
