Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 950: Chapter 56: Meeting

Gao Gong once again returned to Du Gao Technology, or rather, the starship dock of the Cybertron Corps, to find that his equipment had been completely upgraded.

The star thief ships initially adorned with various graffiti, weapon turrets, and skeletal marks were all sold off, replaced by Yasuo Type III Troop Transport ships, Colt Research ships, and Abyssal Explorer Type-19 Exploration ships.

There are three of each type of ship.

The sale of nearly a hundred star thief ships ultimately traded for these nine professional ships.

This was even after a discount from ’Pai Daxing’.

These days, busy with registering the Mercenary Corps and running the procedures, Gao Gong had his first opportunity to admire his own ships.

Among them, the Yasuo Type III uses Subspace Carrying Technology, with an internal storage chamber ten times the surface area.

The Colt Research ship is dedicated to commemorating the first-generation weapon development master of the Galen Republic, Colt. While a standard research ship typically has a maximum of 30 large weapon laboratories, this ship boasts 50 such labs, and these advanced weapon laboratories can research Tier 3 Weapons.

As for the Abyssal Explorer, it is a standard exploration ship, measuring a hundred meters in length, with a hull between a conical and needle-like shape. Although the Type-19 is not the most advanced exploration ship — as it’s said that Mirta has developed the Abyssal Explorer to triple-digit versions — the Type-19 is still quite advanced military equipment in the Black Market, capable of navigating most perilous cosmic environments, such as chaotic vacuum fields, outer reaches of supernova explosions, and cosmic turbulences.

Don’t underestimate this ’come and go’.

The standard for measuring the technological level of an exploration ship has only two criteria: one is recyclability, the ability to enter and exit dangerous cosmic environments is paramount; the second standard emphasizes exploration depth, those with no return are generally not discussed as mainstream exploration ships.

Whether it’s the Yasuo Type Transport ship, the Colt Research ship, or the Abyssal Explorer type, they’re all foundational ship types of the Galen Republic.

At first glance, Gao Gong’s current fleet might even be believed to be a second-line interstellar exploration unit of the Galen Republic.

Gao Gong flew to the hatch area, and the transport ship’s door automatically opened.

While most of the foolish players were wandering around the Black Market Planet, a small group was more interested in their own faction’s new ships. Seeing Gao Gong approaching, each smiled slyly and gathered around him.

”Boss, have we switched to a Land Rover?”

”Boss, is there a mission?”

”General, is the new profession worth grinding, I want to lessen my burden.”

”Boss, many traitors have scooted off carrying their buckets, but I’m different; when I scoot, I resolutely do not carry a bucket!”

”Give me a task, o Boss, I don’t want to go out but I want to earn experience, fulfill my desires!”

...

Gao Gong waved his hand calmly, and a faction-mandated mission ’Clean the Deck’ refreshed, leaving amidst the players’ wails.

Gao Gong made a tour on the troop transport, focusing on the Subspace Carrying Technology of the Yasuo Type III, which, compared to the deployment chamber of a Level 2 technology, is more akin to teleportation, and its performance in stable conditions is like a glass classroom, except its internal area is ten times what is visible from the outside.

Gao Gong also visited the Colt Research ship and Abyssal Explorer to familiarize himself with the performance of these starships.

It only goes to show, they are worth the praise of civilization-manufactured ships, as their performance reaches the top level for ships of the same class.

After a round of touring, Gao Gong looked thoughtfully at the sky, where Director Du’s Great Curved Saber was located, and his own Star Destroyer, neither in the spaceport, especially the latter, which might shock many eyes upon appearance.

”It’s been a long time since we’ve had a meeting; it’s time to gather everyone together and arrange the next stage of tasks.”

Gao Gong stroked his chin, making up his mind.

Soon, in a conference room aboard the research ship, Gao Gong sat at the head seat, quietly waiting.

Naturally, the first to arrive were the scientists on the research ship—Dr. Yuu, Dr. Rong, Dong Gang, etc., the brains behind various scientific projects, tasked either with biological directions or mechanical transformation directions.

The moment these fervent scientists saw Gao Gong, they unanimously did one thing.

They requested funds, resources, approvals.

Among them, Dr. Yuu delivered a straightforward sheet of data, listing the precious biological materials she had investigated in this planet’s Black Market, many indeed being gems one couldn’t buy on other planets, though the price...

”Ahem, there will be bread, there will be milk, everything will be there,” Gao Gong remarked, eyes twitching as he set down the list; he didn’t have a second batch of star thief ships to sell.

In these times, no one has empathy for their boss brother, the landlord’s family doesn’t have surplus grain either.

Soon, the second batch of members arrived, consisting of standard martial arts faction leaders like Xiao Yu, Daisila, General Quel, and those advanced spark lives, Lord Celestis, Venus, Blood Spider, Decepticons, etc., mechanical lives.

Upon their arrival, the scene immediately became lively, with Decepticons clamoring to clear out all carbon-based species from the faction, while Blood Spider sinisterly suggested clearing out the spark mechanism’s dregs.

Once the heads of other departments arrived, Gao Gong tapped the table, and the scene immediately quieted down.

This is the benefit of pure mechanical bodies—always in loyalty max mode to superiors.

As for the others, whether it’s the archaeologist Emville, space hippie Jack Klein, or star thief leader Vervi, they temporarily didn’t qualify to join this meeting.

Gao Gong didn’t mince words, getting straight to the point:

”After completing adjustments at this Black Market, we need to head to these three locations to recover the artificial data from these three Cyber Test Fields.”

As the star map unfolded, a storm of magnificent proportions appeared before everyone’s eyes.

After magnifying it a billion times over, all present quickly confirmed their position, at the bottom of the Stellar Vortex Storm, on a tiny point on a colossal cross-section.

This is where they are located, at the ’Mechanical Serpent Constellation’ of the 5th Stellar Vortex.

Regarding this star system-level star map, it was a bonus with the Star Destroyer.

Soon, beyond the ’small light point’ of the 5th Stellar Vortex, a small light point lit up on the 10th Stellar Vortex, the 21st Stellar Vortex, and the 45th Stellar Vortex.

These few light points sparked interest among all the higher-ups.

”Is this the same experimental planet as our Mechanical Split Star?”

”It’s so far away, the furthest planet is eight star zones away?!”

Stellar Vortexes form one star zone, and a distance of eight star zones would take tens of thousands of years for mere light-speed flight.

”Is this the will of Lord Dominator?” Lord Celestis, who had been silent, suddenly noted seriously.

”Uh, yes.” Gao Gong confirmed.

Those words instantly changed the expression of the mechanical life forms, as the reputation of the Purple Giant Star was akin to the ultimate leader among them, a machine among machines.

The entire Mechanical Lineage of the Spark was created by them, not unsuitable to call them the Mechanical Ancestor.

Their command, naturally, was to be completely carried out.

Several old employees exchanged glances, wondering if their boss was really General Cybertron after all. Impossible, right? Can mechanical men network with rich ladies too? How did he even hook up the connection?

Gao Gong ignored the strange looks from others, paused, and said: ”Interstellar journey reserves need to be prepared quickly, in this regard, the Collector will provide us with some help, and also—”

Gao Gong snapped his fingers towards the door, the mechanical gate slowly opened, and a seemingly harmless green-skinned old man walked in, nodding and bowing to everyone present, adopting the demeanor of an honest person.

”We need a resource planet to meet all future mechanical production and biological evolution research of the Cybertron Corps; this kind of resource planet is either occupied by civilizations or lies in the unknown domains. In this aspect, our choices are limited.”

Gao Gong paused, sternly declaring:

”Thus combating large Star Thieves is our unshirkable duty!”
