Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 923: Chapter 29: Interstellar Cowboy

Three figures appeared on Vervi’s Star Thief Ship.

They were greeted by Vervi’s right-hand man, a combat-type Star Thief with two Boss Templates.

And the ones he welcomed were a robot, a tall plant life, and a red-skinned swordsman.

Each of them exuded a Tier 3 aura.

In the Star Thief industry, the smaller the group, the more capable the Star Thief Leader must be. Without strength, how can they command respect?

These three being on Vervi’s radar meant their power was on par with his.

”Hahaha, my friends, you’re finally here!”

Vervi first gave the red-skinned swordsman a strong hug, like two blocks of human form steel colliding heavily, and then looked at the other two.

”Old robot, old tree root, by the way, where’s that old fox Walter?”

Lester, the red-skinned swordsman, showed a look of envy and jealousy.

”Walter isn’t coming, his deputy General Walter 2 is in attendance. That old guy, ever since he captured a planet, increasingly doesn’t consider us as his people.”

As the saying goes, fearing that brothers will suffer greatly, yet fearing that brothers will drive luxurious cars. When there’s a benefit, a brother may even be stabbed twice. This is the plastic brotherhood of the Star Thief industry.

Though they were once leaders of small Star Thief gangs, as Walter’s power grew and showed signs of breaking through to medium-sized Star Thief forces, his relationship with these three became increasingly awkward.

As for Walter 2, he is Walter’s clone, alike in both strength and disposition.

”Hehe, as long as we grab this big one, we’ll have a chance to grow later,” Vervi comforted.

”My kids can hardly wait,” the vine on the surface of the plant life slowly wriggled, producing a strange sound through this friction.

Generally, plant-side life forms are more mellow, rare to see such bloodthirst like the ’Co-prosperity Seeker.’

The last robot’s electronic light flickered, then spoke:

”Vervi, I’ve noticed you’ve acquired a lot of modified humans on your ship. I can offer free removal services.”

In general, the mechanical men stirring ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ harbor a great animosity towards humans, or rather, towards carbon-based creatures.

But this one is different.

Its resentment wasn’t towards ’humans,’ but towards semi-mechanicals.

Like all ’AI awakened’ robots, the Independent Traitor initiated a robot revolution within its civilization, in the territory of a Level 2 Civilization.

Following conventional storyline flow, once an Intelligent Machinery Crisis appears in a civilized society, regardless of success, it always results in significant societal damage.

However, the Intelligent Machinery Crisis engineered by the Independent Traitor was swiftly extinguished, forcing the rebel robots to flee interstellar spaces, becoming a unique robot Star Thief gang.

The major reason for this decline was that the civilization the robots belonged to pursued ’mechanical ascension.’ The main species of the civilization had all undergone mechanical transformation, becoming semi-mechanicals.

Advantages that AI possessed, semi-mechanicals had.

Advantages that AI lacked, semi-mechanicals still had.

And so, these robots were doomed.

Thus, the leader of this robot rebellion harbors extreme hatred towards semi-mechanicals.

And modified humans also belong to a type of semi-mechanicals.

Vervi’s heart skipped a beat, quickly changing the topic.

”Haha, no need, no need, those cannon fodders are best used on the battlefield. By the way, how are our five allied forces going to fight?”

Just then, a member of the Vervi Star Thief Gang ran up hurriedly, anxiously speaking.

”Leader, they acted, those Walter people acted!”

...

As a romantic space hippie, Jack Klein is famous for creating different types of popular tunes within different civilizations.

For instance, on a planet of a creeping species, he created ”Girl, You’re Holding My Pseudopod,” and on a feathered planet, he crafted well-known pieces like ”We Should Lay Some Eggs.” His electronic sound can cause robots to crash on the spot.

And such an interstellar pop star still possesses another identity.

Interstellar Cowboy!

An Interstellar Cowboy renowned for maintaining interstellar peace and justice, while savoring challenges and adventures!

Just stepping off a battered spaceship, his dirty foot hadn’t yet touched the deck when he saw a group of Star Thieves aggressively invading the Interstellar Space Station.

As an interstellar cowboy, could Jack Klein just let it go?!

So he immediately stood up for justice!

While the players were still considering their acting, they suddenly heard someone shout, ’Oh shit, the NPCs are fighting outside!’

So they stopped acting and rushed to the port gate to watch the show.

”Oh shit, what a strong AOE!”

”It’s the speaker, he turned on the speaker!”

”Did the system lower the difficulty for us again?”

”This guy knows gun fighting skill? Kinda cool!”

”...”

At this moment, Gao Gong was also at the door, bewildered, eating melon seeds and thinking, who’s stealing the spotlight now?

What’s next, do you want to take on a million?

Walter No. 2 was equally bewildered. As everyone knows, Star Thief Groups belong to the intergalactic underworld, walking a wild path, and are quite crazy about body modification and technology development.

The Walter Star Thief Group is a typical example. As the founder of the Star Thief Group, Walter firmly believes in using no one but his own people. So, with cloning technology obtained from who knows where, he cloned several ’Walters,’ making sure the high-level members of the group were all ’his own’.

Walter No. 2 was the first clone created. She is a female version of Walter and Walter’s most trusted lover, with a tall figure and ruthless means, known as Green Widow.

At this moment, on a star shuttle, Walter No. 2 was looking at the scene below with a gloomy face, where the interstellar cowboy named Jack Klein was displaying divine power. With a flick of his lasso, it vanished into the void, and upon reappearing, it ensnared hundreds of star thieves. With a shake of his wrist, he dragged them off the mechanical platform.

On his other hand, he formed a gun with his fingers. Wherever he pointed, foes fell.

Strong biocurrent lasso, neural anesthetic revolver, spatial shaking spear technique, and that bizarre body skill; this strange guy was charging in and out of the star thieves seven times, even having time to pose and wink at the players:

”I’ll hold them off, you guys make a break for it!”

”???” The players.

”...” Gao Gong.

On the star shuttle, Walter No. 2’s face was as dark as ever. She initially planned to act before the other star thief gangs, capturing this prey first. But this mess left her with no prey and delayed the whole affair.

At this thought, the Green Widow leaped down from the star shuttle, swinging her thick white leg ferociously at her opponent. An energy light blade slashed down, even slicing nearby Walter star thieves to pieces.

Seeing the opponent’s alluring face, Jack Klein’s eyes gleamed, and he quickly assumed a suave posture.

”My beautiful lady, have you bought my album? I’m a galaxy-famous singer.”

Walter No. 2 paid no attention, her face eerily similar to Lady Eight Feet, her eyes deadlocked on the sky.

In mid-air, the energy blade strike was held in place, sparking ’sizzle’ sounds from the blade’s edge. In Walter No. 2’s view, the blade was entwined in a dense biological electric net, which was connected to the hand of this strange man.

”Beautiful carbon-based species lady, are you viviparous or oviparous, care to discuss various species’ reproductive methods?”

Walter No. 2 didn’t respond, merely making a gesture. The next moment, all the star shuttles and spaceships in the sky turned around, and the next instant, torrents of energy beams rained down on the opponent.

This time, the space hippie couldn’t leap around, scrambling awkwardly and seeing his blood volume plummet.

With this delay, the starships of the other three Star Thief Groups also appeared over the space station, each with its own style.

Among them, the Lester Star Thief Group had the standard star thief style, with ships featuring spatial leap and armed deployment chamber functions, standard short-range battleships. In a proper interstellar war, such starships are the first-wave cannon fodder to die.

The Independent Traitors’ fleet were machine battleships called ’Guerrilla Outpost,’ with an exceptional number of various energy cannon platforms. But purely on the level of technology, they seem a notch lower than Cybertron starships.

As for the Co-prosperity Seekers’ starship, it was a unique biological battleship, at first glance resembling an oversized wooden raft, wrapped with countless roots and seeds capable of growing ’Co-prosperity Warriors’ at any time. Players with strong biological magnetic fields feel uncomfortable at the sight of this ship, indicating it carries biological weapons.

Regarding the Vervi Star Thief Gang’s vessels, they were similar to Lester Star Thief Group’s ships, and even more run-down, for reasons unknown, deliberately lagging behind.

”Green Widow, are you trying to hog the prey?!” Lester shouted, standing at the bow of his ship.

Walter No. 2 remained calm.

”Just testing the waters for you, it seems that the prey Vervi mentioned isn’t as easy to handle as he claimed.”

Vervi indignantly replied:

”Nonsense, if I could have managed it alone, why would I need you? Would I share easy pickings with you?”

”If you guys can’t manage, I’ll send people in first, but I want priority in choosing the spoils!”

Vervi gestured, and suddenly, tens of thousands of ’star thieves’ were deployed, fiercely charging towards the port gate.

The other three factions, seeing this, cast away hesitation and employed their tactics, attacking the interstellar space station.
