Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 908: Chapter 14: Spark Rekindled

Regarding this acquisition of professional knowledge, the Worm Emville remembers it deeply, not because the knowledge is extremely important, but because it has a profound memory of all its memories.

It was at an interstellar transfer station when it encountered a planetary civilization wandering due to the explosion of the star system’s fixed star, forcing them to choose a wandering planet.

That civilization’s status happened to be above Level 2, yet not quite reaching Level 3.

At that time, a senior official of this wandering civilization wished to confirm the navigation route and sought an expert in the field upon recommendation and found it.

Following the principle of equivalent exchange of knowledge, it exchanged a star map and acquired ’interstellar space station manufacturing technology’.

In fact, it was more interested in obtaining the planetary engine technology from them, as every wandering-type civilization is extremely adept in ’cosmic navigation’.

Unfortunately, this was core technology, and Emville did not get its hands on it.

It even suspected that even this ’interstellar space station manufacturing technology’ might not be the civilization technology of the other party, possibly acquired through exchange or dug out from a revoked interstellar fortress.

Wandering planetary civilizations have always been adept at scavenging.

Emville was relieved to see the other party only took away this professional knowledge; this starship captain was not as greedy as it had anticipated.

Once Gao Gong arranged the alien worm’s accommodation, he returned to his captain’s room, revealing a strange smile, gently tapping his foot, and suddenly, the whole room seemed to revolve 180 degrees. Gao Gong once again appeared in the world composed of dimensions and boxes.

Cosmic Relic - Civilization Modifier

Gao Gong moved his thoughts, and the next moment, the professional knowledge ’interstellar space station manufacturing technology’ entered one of the boxes.

In an instant, countless interstellar space station phantoms appeared, each representing different technological directions or different models of the same technological direction.

The strongest aspect of this cosmic relic is not combat power but the evolution of civilization knowledge.

Stimulated by this technology branch, soon, two more dimensional boxes rose on both sides, in one box appeared countless battleships, one of which very closely resembled the Cybertronian model of a starship; in the other box, appeared an object akin to the Mother City’s body but a hundred times smaller, a ’virtual beehive’.

Tier 3 Professional Knowledge: Battleship System

Tier 3 Professional Knowledge: Hive-type Command AI

The former is clear at a glance, technology for constructing Tier 3 ships, while the latter is a branch of AI technology, generally used in organizing and communicating in large-scale fleets.

In interstellar wars, the distance scale is incredibly large, often several light-years or even dozens of light-years, and there is no network in outer space, making signal transmission difficult.

At this time, the emergence of a ’large command AI’ can play a critical role in interstellar warfare.

Interstellar space station manufacturing technology, battleship systems, hive-type command AI, these three professional knowledge all belong to a Tier 3 professional knowledge chain.

This professional knowledge chain is called ’Starship Engineering’.

And this Tier 3 professional knowledge chain belongs to a Level 3 civilization ’Mechanician Civilization’.

It is a mechanical civilization very adept at manufacturing, with civilization specialties including space warships, interstellar fortresses, planet weapons, and even civilization monuments, although successful instances are rare.

But this is what Gao Gong values most.

And this Tier 3 mechanical civilization is precisely Gao Gong’s future civilization evolution goal.

At this moment, with dimensional evolution, two numbers appeared beneath the ’battleship systems’ and ’hive-type command AI’, one was 35 days, and the other was 20 days.

In other words, through the ’civilization modifier’ to evolve professional knowledge, it requires 35 and 20 cosmic days respectively.

And as these two professional knowledge items successfully complete evolution, other professional knowledge within this whole professional knowledge chain will also subsequently be evolved.

Finally, synthesizing a complete professional knowledge chain.

That is why Gao Gong is certain, even the Level 9 civilization, upon knowing the function of this cosmic relic, would be very interested.

This is a bug, and a civilization-level bug.

Even the Civilization Sovereign of the Level 7 civilization behind the Mother City probably doesn’t understand it.

Because cosmic relic synthesis has always been a superstition concept rather than a scientific concept.

If not for memory worm interference, perhaps it wouldn’t be in its current state.

The Worm Emville only knew it contributed a regular Tier 3 professional knowledge, completely unaware that the other party could gain an entire knowledge chain.

This is information disparity.

And for the player, this large alien worm resembling a cockroach was also quite eye-catching, after all, for most players, this was their first time seeing an alien, with many attempting to strike up a conversation, trying to connect to ’alien missions’.

In fact, Emville was quite interested in these planet natives as well.

It could see that these planet natives were leaving their respective planets for the first time, based on logical analysis, this is a relatively low-level Level 2 civilization, as a mature Level 2 civilization would be able to expand at least throughout the entire stellar system, conducting planetary colonization.

Could it be that this starship captain recruited natives from some low-level civilization planet?

However, it soon overturned its own judgment because the modification plugins and weaponry on these planetary natives all indicated that this was equipment befitting interstellar warriors of a mature Level 2 Civilization.

’Half-modified civilization?’

’Strange, this type of civilization is best known for progressing through war. How could they have developed so quickly without experiencing interstellar wars and colonization?’

As this alien insect pondered in secret, some ’biomechanical armor’ shifted from the mining area to the exploration area, and the sight of these super mechas was so shocking that Emville’s eyeballs almost popped out.

It was certain that these super mechas, with 10 million mechanical energy and 10 million biological energy, surpassed even the elite soldier species of a Level 3 Civilization, let alone a Level 2 Civilization.

Where did this captain buy these ’super mecha soldiers’?!

These soldier species, in interstellar warfare, could even participate in advanced combat missions, such as conquering interstellar fortresses or destroying planetary control hubs.

In Emville’s understanding, it didn’t believe that a Starship Captain had the technology to manufacture these ’super mechas.’

”You guys go this way.”

Emville opened a star map, which was far more reliable than the 3 billion-year-old antique that Gao Gong had.

Under its command, the speed of breaking through the meteorite belt would at least double.

And these biomechanical armors came over to follow the command of this giant insect.

It’s said by some that every interstellar archaeologist is the best interstellar guide and interstellar engineer.

Gao Gong had no reason to leave such a prime resource unused.

Dig a tunnel for me!

Emville did not mind this, after all, it knew that only by breaking through the meteorite belt could the interstellar route be restored, and it could return home sooner.

Besides, commanding players was a lot of fun.

It rarely saw the crew so ’vigorous’ on an interstellar journey lasting several centuries or millennia.

They worked as if their lives depended on it when there was a task.

Without a task, they created tasks to do.

Could it be that they’ve all been marked with a ’thought steel seal’?

Emville muttered to itself while assigning tasks to the players. Although the ’translator’ Gao Gong had temporarily made for them wasn’t as good as a universal translator, it sufficed for simple communication.

Additionally, the players were pleasantly surprised to discover that when they handed in tasks to this alien insect, they would receive extra rewards, whether it be skills or breakthrough experience. Though small, something was better than nothing.

Could it be that aliens have a tipping culture?

Great job!

In fact, Emville couldn’t bear to see these ’liver emperors’ working themselves to death as if they could collapse at any moment. Even slave-type civilizations leave time for slaves to replenish their nutrition, yet these crew members had no intention of resting, and their subjective initiative was far stronger than that of slaves.

Maybe I should discuss with the captain to trade for his brainwashing technology sometime?

...

Meanwhile, at the center of the starship formation, on the industrial ship, powerful energy waves surged one after another.

The energy wave was so strong that it emitted a visible blue light.

At the core of these energy waves was the core area of the industrial ship, where the Spark Storage was located.

The primary reason for such a large wave was the high-level energy ore—’Isotopic Polymer’—that players collected from exploration zone number two.

Generally speaking, as long as there was a cosmic sailing force nearby, energy ore of this purity would not be overlooked.

However, the asteroid belt was quite special, being close to the Cyber Test Field, preventing civilization forces from penetrating. Common star thieves wouldn’t think of mining here, so this small high-level energy ore deposit surprisingly remained until now, until discovered by players.

In the interstellar world, high-level energy ore has standards; its energy intensity must exceed that of a Level 2 Civilization’s large energy reactor.

A palm-sized piece of energy stone, when developed, could power a tech city for a year.

At this moment, the exterior of the Spark Storage was covered with these high-level energy stones.

Their chain reactions even triggered a local energy tide.

As a tester, Dida had long entered the form of an Energy Mushroom, diving into the energy tide, continuously reporting to the peripheral testing personnel to adjust the density of the energy stones to facilitate absorption by the Spark Storage.

Only a few players who could enter the energy state could perform this task, while other players could not even if they wanted to.

Under the action of the energy tide, more and more Cybertronian Machines were awakened, with countless mechanical parts autonomously assembling into humanoid figures tens to hundreds of meters tall.

Moreover, out of the fourteen largest Spark Storages, fire-shaped silhouettes emerged from three of them.
