Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 534: Chapter 67: Cyber Abyss

Just as the Great Wall protected certain nations, the coverage of the Divine Wall almost enveloped the majority of the Divine Land, a dark mass stretching beyond the eye could see.

Without a doubt, this is a Tier 3 Civilization Architecture, and the largest barrier in the Digital Realm.

And now, a group of controlled low-level mechanical beings is attempting to break into the most dangerous place in this underwater world.

In the reflection of a mechanical being’s eyes, a figure flashes by, David Hilbert, one of the 13 Wise Men of the Earth Net Group.

Before they could approach the Divine Wall, a multitude of black shadows blocked the mechanical beings.

David’s eyes flashed with data radiance, stemming from the highest authority of the Earth Net Group, causing the outer protective forces to gradually retreat.

Soon, the group of mechanical beings approached the Divine Wall.

To enter the Divine Wall, the authority of the Earth Net Group alone was clearly insufficient.

Quickly, David revealed the Killing Weapon, deriving from the ultimate knowledge of the ’Master’.

Countless garbled codes, ancient runes, energy fluctuations, signals, and alien texts flashed madly; this ’Master’s’ power was enough to obscure all technological means on this planet. Soon, one shield after another shut down, mechanical gates opened, and a massive amount of cold air caused the surrounding seawater to cool rapidly, freeze, and even cold vapors erupted onto the sea surface.

Inside the Divine Wall were countless freezing chambers, spanning back 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, and even tracing back to the Civilization Era. It is said that the first position ’Brain Lord’ among the 13 Wise Men was a scientist from the Civilization Era.

As nearly impenetrable defenses were unlocked, the group of low-level underwater beings finally reached the last layer, which housed what was said to be an unbreakable ’defense’, the ’Data Lock’ of the Mother City.

To David, this Data Lock extended into Cyber Space, covering every living being on this planet down to their cells, genes, and chromosomes.

It seemed non-existent, yet it was like a mountain pressing down on every ’World Reformer’, leaving them breathless.

”Let me see if I can snap your leash this time.”

With David’s self-talk, the ultimate knowledge imparted by the ’Master’ finally collided with the Data Lock of the Mother City.

It is indescribable what he ’saw’, as if billions of data streams flickered before his eyes, traversing time and space, resonating back and forth, and seemingly squeezing strange code worms out of various Mechanical Bodies.

There was no pinpoint confrontation nor a particularly extravagant collision; the confrontation ended in just a moment.

With a ’click’, the Data Lock of the Mother City opened, and the last defense of the Divine Wall was breached.

David seemed to grasp something, pondering with a frown:

’Could the ultimate knowledge be used to create a special weapon that locks technological evolution on a micro level?’

The group of low-level mechanical beings infiltrated the gate, and soon, a freezing chamber was dragged out, interrupting David’s scientific thoughts.

Inside the freezing chamber, a ’Living Dead’, temporarily transformed into Digital Life, lay—it was the physical carcass of a Super Hacker.

David knew that every Cyber Hacker had at least double-digit temporary carcasses and various survival methods, including but not limited to ’Personality Replication’, ’Brain Disc’, and ’Data Sub-Body’.

However, the new technology of the Earth Net Group could penetrate the surface of a ’Hacker’ and modify it on the source code level long ago.

This means that with just one physical body, he could transform the counterpart into ’Digital Life’ under the radar, permanently instead of temporarily.

And once transformed into Digital Life, it goes without saying, naturally, they would be on our side, even if they harbored ulterior motives, there would be no other choice.

This is David’s goal.

A Super Hacker accidentally brought to the doorstep, suited perfectly for the Earth Net Group’s future plans—provided he became one of them.

And within the freezing chamber, already connected, Gao Gong, who should have been without Consciousness, curled the corners of his mouth into a subtle smile.

...

”What are you smiling about?”

Once again uploaded to Cyber Space, the two stood at a modern city-style data node when Mr. G suddenly displayed a peculiar expression, prompting Dida to inquire.

”Nothing, um, lady number 12453531313, can you hear me?” Gao Gong knocked on the headset and asked.

”Hello, Mr. Prototype, Ms. Dida, currently confirming the data node you are located at. Once completed and the Hyperlink Protocol’s calibration is done, migration will commence.”

”You have too many identification numbers, do you have another name?” Gao Gong clicked his tongue and said.

”As a third-generation Digital Life, my data personality is not complete, according to Earth Net Group’s regulations, I shouldn’t have a name,” the other party said calmly.

”Who set the Group’s regulations?”

”The council composed of the 13 Wise Men.”

”Oh.”

Dida couldn’t help but interject, ”As a Digital Life, what do you think of the Divine Land?”

”The Divine Land is our home, and the goal of Digital Life is to extend our home across the entire planet.”

”You—”

”The agreement has been successfully signed; proceeding with data migration. Please maintain data integrity, 3, 2, 1, migration begins.”

With the operator’s words, the entire city began to collapse centered on where the two stood, matter transformed into data, data collapsed into source code, and the source code decomposed into the most basic 0, 1, 0, with the two continually sinking, sinking, until the red alert echoed in their ears.

The two had reached the deepest level of the Deep Net, where the fundamental infrastructure of Cyber Space exists; here, vision, hearing, smell, all simulation perceptions vanished, replaced by an extreme tearing sensation, as if pulling a person infinitely long from head to toe.

This phenomenon was created by the communication link covering the entire planet.

For a moment, Dida seemed to feel ’light-speed.’

Incidentally, the initial mastery of light-speed technology is a marker of Level 3 Civilization.

At this speed, all logical thinking is rendered useless; not to mention intermediate AI, even advanced AI would instantly crumble.

This is why very few people can delve into the deepest level of Cyber Space.

Fortunately, this feeling was also momentary. In the next instant, Dida came back to her senses, and at some point, her simulated senses fully restored themselves. She instinctively touched her body, feeling a protective suit resembling a ’space suit’ on her body.
