Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 532: Chapter 65: Digital Life

What is ”the Master”? For the various forces of the Divine Land, it has completely different definitions.

Some forces believe the Master is the God of Technology, the ultimate explanation of all physical rules.

Some forces believe the Master is an Advanced Civilization, the only existence comparable to the Mother City.

Some forces believe the Master is the Sea of Consciousness, the source of Intelligence, the origin of all Knowledge.

But regardless of the interpretation, one must admit a fact: the Master provided strong assistance in the construction of the Divine Land. Without its knowledge, these major forces would have taken countless detours.

For David Hilbert, the Master is likely a super powerful Digital Life.

From the information left by the Master, the most involved and complete ’dark signals’ are all related to higher-level Virtual Civilizations.

The Earth Net Group has a large amount of experimental data to support this.

After worshiping the Master, he sat on the old boat he came with. The boat slowly sank into the Sea of Numbers, and his thoughts also merged into the endless digital transformations, during which his mind was exceptionally agile.

Accelerate!

No time to wait, if you want to create a complete Virtual Realm, not this half-baked Cyber Space, you need to evolve Digital Life faster.

And the project at hand is crucial to this.

By giving Digital Life both AI and Virus traits, they can take over and become the top of the Cyber Space food chain.

This plan needs to accelerate!

...

Meanwhile, Gao Gong was watching the birth process of a Digital Life with great interest.

This wasn’t some H-project, but it was very much like a tadpole looking for its mother. In a ’digital pond,’ a large number of digital symbols changed, and under the operation of the digital modeler, rapidly generated a ’Digital Life Model.’

”From the perspective of species propagation, the efficiency of sperm and egg combination is not high. Like some ancient cockroaches, which reproduce every 7-10 days, can produce nearly ten thousand offspring a year. From the standpoint of a civilization, the reproduction of a large number of Intelligent Species benefits the iteration of civilization.”

”Cockroaches?” Dida felt a chill.

”Yes, considering Digital Life is a new form of life, we not only referred to the Reproductive Systems of ancient cockroaches but also maggots, centipedes, sea horses, horned frogs...”

Dida almost gagged upon hearing this. He had heard from other AIs that in reality, there are a large number of bionic factories continuously producing new models of Bionic Men. Artificial Intelligence also has its ’body customization service,’ where it can choose to customize its hands, feet, head, features.

This is already amazing and cyber, but it pales in comparison to Digital Life by several levels.

The former is at least ’human’ or at least developing in the direction of ’human’.

But this ’cockroach’ ’maggot’ has completely denied ’human’ from another perspective and even doesn’t take the concept of ’human’ seriously at all.

But from another perspective, being able to nurture life from base mathematical logic means the other party must grasp at least five or more Professional Knowledge and likely possess a Professional Knowledge Chain.

Seeing Dida’s strange expression, Tuu Xiaoyu thought he didn’t believe her and explained: ”With our current technology, the breeding rate from generation one to five is indeed low, only 1%. But that’s because the hardware in reality is lagging. Once the hardware catches up, the propagation speed will be very fast.”

As she spoke, a large number of digital human forms scrambled to crawl out of the pond, but most collapsed after a few steps. Only a few digital human forms did not completely collapse, but were missing arms and legs, belonging to the ’tadpoles’ that couldn’t run.

These incomplete digital human forms did not continue to evolve but were uploaded to a hard disk.

Gao Gong watched thoughtfully. Tuu Xiaoyu said the success rate was only 1%, which should not be a lie, but how will the Earth Net Group handle these 10%~20% failures?

In his memory of the previous life, there was no major plot like ’Rise of Digital Life.’ He had heard of the Earth Net Group as one of the suppliers of ’Brain Plugins,’ but after the Corporate War, it basically disappeared.

So, did the Earth Net Group’s plan fail? And how did it fail?

The ’propagation’ of Digital Life did not stop for Gao Gong’s pondering. After hundreds of ’digital human forms’ collapsed, three Digital Human Forms were finally born. As the ’modeler’s’ model matured, the various changing numbers on the surface of the three digital human forms gradually shrank into their skin, and a light called ’Wisdom’ emerged in their eyes.

”Number 12453531311, Number 12453531312 as second-generation Digital Life, Number 12453531313 as third-generation Digital Life.”

The third generation was a female character, with skin more human-like compared to the other two, like a ’Shamate style’ young lady with various numbers etched on her body.

”Unexpectedly, a third generation was born, not bad,” Tuu Xiaoyu nodded with satisfaction and further explained: ”Compared to the second generation, the ’Digital Wisdom’ of the third generation is higher, equivalent to an adult human, and five times more in learning ability.”

As pure Virtual Life, Digital Life does not have a CPU, that is, no hardware processing system. Their Intelligence is reflected in ’Digital Wisdom,’ and this ’Digital Wisdom’ is akin to an intelligent version of chatGPT.

”What about their personalities?” Gao Gong asked with interest.

Bionic Men, Artificial Intelligence all have personality templates, and Digital Life should too. This ’individuality’ is also a hallmark of intelligent life.

After all, Tuu Xiaoyu right before him was a typical Digital Life with a personality template.

”When Digital Life iterates to the fifth generation, a Digital Personality will naturally evolve. The more iterations, the more complete the personality. Now, what they need is to infuse knowledge.”

The three Digital Life were quickly led away. With intelligence five times that of an adult, it was approximately equivalent to a Modified Human installed with a ’Basic Learning Chip,’ whose market price was about 10,000. If a player were to reincarnate as a Digital Life, they’d be overjoyed. Of course, if they knew this couldn’t be changed once chosen, it might be a different expression.

Gao Gong nodded, signaling that he had no issues. As Tuu Xiaoyu was about to say something, she suddenly received some information. First, her eyebrows furrowed, then slowly relaxed, and she flatly said:

”Mr. Prototype, according to Dr. David’s instructions, we need to launch our plan ahead of schedule. Please prepare, soon we will enter Cyber Space and anchor the position of the No. 0 Virus Library.”

”This is faster than I expected,” Gao Gong said meaningfully.

”Also faster than I imagined.”
