Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Every super corporation has its own security department, and Balance Technology’s security department is called the ’Throne Department,’ a name that sounds rather juvenile.

At this moment, one of the captains of the Throne Department, Han Tong, received orders from above to pick up a new colleague.

”A new colleague, and a newbie with mechanical transformation, joining our department?”

Han Tong’s thick brows twitched as he slammed the list onto the face of the person opposite, sneering:

”Is this a connected hire?”

Zhang Yu’s secretary held back his anger and said, ”This is a normal company transfer, with signatures from all the responsible parties—”

”Don’t try to fool me with that!”

Han Tong suddenly stood up, his three-meter-tall body densely packed with muscles. Even more terrifyingly, he had four arms, and as he stood up, substantial biological energy condensed into frightening patterns on his skin, resembling the mythological War Ghost Asura.

Han Tong, a member of the Throne Bureau Headquarters, a biological cell Transformer, a battle fanatic, level... 60.

He is a corporate strongman on par with the strong of the Mother City.

In fact, every corporate branch office has a super Transformer like this one stationed there.

Although the capabilities of the Cyber Test Field can handle ninety percent of enemies, if an opposing corporation sends in a specially equipped espionage team targeting the Field, someone has to take them down.

That person is Han Tong.

And as a super combatant of Balance Technology Headquarters, Han Tong can completely disregard Zhang Yu’s authority—even if they both belong to the ’Armed Faction’ grand faction.

The secretary knew this muscle-bound monster was unruly, but did not expect him to disregard even the face of a branch manager. After some thought, he decided to switch tactics.

”Captain Han, the Super Samurai developed jointly with Marubeni is nearly complete. Wouldn’t it be better to include you in the development list?”

Han Tong narrowed his eyes, glaring at his opponent for a moment, then suddenly grinned, ”Why didn’t you say so earlier? Of course, I have to give the manager some face.”

Just as the secretary breathed a sigh of relief, Han Tong added coldly:

”But let me make it clear, my subordinates don’t have good temperaments, especially towards mechanical trash. You can insert people, but they better behave, otherwise, any conflict would be embarrassing for both sides.”

…

Half an hour later, a car stopped in front of the information desk, the door opened, and the secretary poked his head out, gesturing to Gao Gong.

Gao Gong had anticipated this and expressionlessly got into the car—considering his current skull-faced appearance, making facial expressions was indeed difficult.

”This is your profile. Download it, and it will be your identity within the corporation,” the secretary handed over an identification chip.

Gao Gong took the chip and inserted it into the port.

In an instant, a large amount of fabricated data flashed by, tracing each step from birth to transformation, then to 100% mechanical transformation into mechanical life, every step traceable.

”Efficient enough,” a hoarse electronic voice emitted from Gao Gong’s throat.

Still a bit uneasy, the secretary advised, ”The Throne Department is different from other departments; it’s a super department directly under headquarters. Stay low-key for a while. Manager Sunx said they would transfer you to our department after some time.”

”Understood.”

Gao Gong’s hollow right eye socket turned towards the secretary, making him shiver. He wondered why this guy got a prosthetic eye—was he playing pirate?

The ride was silent, and soon, the car entered the heavily fortified Balance Branch.

’Large energy defense net, biological radar, electronic tracking cannons, oh, and some special presences. This branch feels like a fortress; I have to say, it’s worthy of super corporation-level defense. Compared to this, Illusionary Union doesn’t stand a chance.’

In Liangzhou City, Balance Technology had become a nation within a nation; a super fortress built with 4D technology stood before his eyes, towering mechanical city walls rose up, and behind the walls, over a hundred skyscrapers interconnected, forming a steel jungle, with countless people in suits or work clothes bustling by.

Through the window, Gao Gong saw numerous signal towers, evenly distributed behind the walls, even more than the buildings; a massive flow of biological signals circulated here, creating various illusions due to the excessive number of signals, such as gigantic neural networks and vast bone jungles. But the people here seemed used to it.

Within these biological signals, Gao Gong sensed a familiar presence.

It was his own presence.

Now, his task was to reboot the ’biological computer’ integrated into the test field.

Once rebooted, he would effectively control this part of the Cyber Test Field.

”Here we are, be careful.”

The secretary warned briefly before hastily leaving, clearly not wanting to stay in this place any longer.

Nearby, the Throne Department’s training base resembled a prison for holding felons, with thick metal walls layered upon each other, and the biological signals there were exceptionally dense, perhaps excessively so.

To Gao Gong, it felt like an enormous organism.

Nobody came to greet him.

Gao Gong didn’t mind, hanging the prepared work badge around his neck and walking straight into this branch of the Throne Department.

The first impression upon entering was like stepping into a high-tech slaughterhouse.

There weren’t many people here, only about a dozen, male or female, all muscular. Some leaned against the walls, others lifted several-ton dumbbells high, while still others studied new weaponry.

Hands, feet, and heads covered the walls, and countless needle-like tuners were modifying the specific parameters of these organs.

A muscular man with tattooed arms widened his large eyes at Gao Gong, tore his arm off with a massive hand, grabbed a new arm at will, and attached it. Numerous buds connected, piecing together, testing with several movements, and then slammed the ground, creating a massive pit.

’Assembly line biological exoskeletons, a product of synthetic biology.’

Industrialization of species and assembly line biological exoskeletons are weapons of Biological Civilization against Carbon-Based Civilization. On the battlefield, their effects are even more pronounced—regardless of which part of the body is damaged, it can be immediately restored by being reattached.

’I must get my side a technology like this!’

”Mechanical trash!”

”Industrial waste!”

”Useless!”

Gao Gong paid no mind to the insults around him, even finding them amusing—who would have thought there’d come a day when he’d be discriminated against, just because he had no little guy now.

However, Balance Technology’s biotechnology is undeniable; what meets the eye are Tier 2 biological exoskeletons, and though these corporate warriors are few in number, each is at least level 40, elite even if not fully made of memory metal or colliders, they are only one level inferior.

Equipped with some top-tier second-tier equipment, they even have the capability to carry out a tactical beheading of the mechanical main brain.
