Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 461: Chapter 3: Tier 2 Factions and Mission Interactions

The difficulty of system missions is clear: simple, ordinary, difficult, nightmare, and hell, followed by civilization-level missions, such as civilization rescue, civilization catastrophe, civilization rectification, and civilization ascension.

But along this line, there’s a small interlude, which is the paradise task, or rather, the hell task’s branch — paradise (hell).

In terms of difficulty, the two are quite similar, both being missions from which one cannot survive, unless a dimensional strike is conducted.

But what makes the paradise task special is that it’s not about destroying anything or killing anything, but about rescuing life and saving the world, so players often jokingly call it the ’Holy Mother Task.’

Obviously, bringing tens of millions of species into the sea directly triggered the mission conditions.

The key is that this is still a chain task, even though the chain task evenly distributes the mission difficulty across each segment, which seems to be ’weaker’ compared to the normal difficulty.

The problem lies in the fact that when the difficulty level of heaven is evenly distributed, it might divide into dozens or even hundreds of task segments.

The kind where you could explode from overwork in one place!

’Ding~’

[Player triggered the ’Heaven-Level’ chain task ’Rise of Radiation Species’]

[Task First Segment: Evolution of Ocean Organs]

Difficulty: Heaven

Task Brief: The brain-in-a-vat has been troubled by one thing recently. For terrestrial species wanting to enter the ocean, the first step is to evolve ocean species’ organs; however, the inoperability of evolution has caused its plan to be slow to realize, please help it complete the first step of evolution.

Task Objective: Complete the ’organ evolution’ of radiation species

Task Rewards: Experience +400,000, five random blueprints, Mechanical System Fragment *1, Ancient Gene *1

The task rewards are quite decent, especially the ’Mechanical System’ reward. He already has eight ’Mechanical System Fragments,’ and getting two more will allow him to bet on two large blueprints.

Even though they are only Level 1 Civilization large blueprints, even lighting up a ’High-speed Ballistic System,’ ’Large Nuclear Power Plant,’ or ’8G Network’ would still be profitable.

Gao Gong pondered for a while and said, ”How many types of radiation species do you have under your control now?”

’Little Woman’ didn’t waste any words, gently wiped her palm, and the next moment, tens of thousands of images appeared, each containing a type of Mechanical Beast, among which one-third were already Radiation Beasts.

It was evident that during the time Gao Gong was away, the other party had spread like cancer cells.

Even expanding their biological domain to radiation species.

Mechanical Bio-Beasts, Radiation Beasts, those are two completely different evolution paths.

Looking at these mutant species with various postures, any biologist coming by would only feel exasperated.

Transforming one species is reasonable, but transforming ten thousand? That kind of workload would require the full force of the Biological Mutation Association to make sense.

Gao Gong squinted his eyes and suddenly laughed:

”So, what’s your clue? I don’t believe you don’t have any ideas.”

”I found an intelligent species,” ’Little Woman’ nodded, and the next moment, two species appeared before the two of them.

There was a blue-skinned person and a blue-skinned winged beast.

The blue-skinned person stood about two meters tall, with flippers on their hands and feet, large blue eyes, and most intriguingly, their hair was neural strands.

The perception of this species must be extremely high.

However, Gao Gong’s attention was drawn to the few ’abdominal muscles’ on the opponent’s abdomen. As a seasoned driver, he could tell at a glance that these weren’t muscle lines formed through exercise but were genetic imprints created after ’genetic adjustments.’

In other words, they are modified humans, or at least the first generation is modified humans.

And that blue-skinned winged beast is probably some form of Radiation Beast, with obvious signs of human taming. Gao Gong glanced at the opponent’s wings and exclaimed.

”Amphibious?”

The wings clearly adhered to the ’flying power’ structure, indicating the opponent can fly.

”This Cloud Wing Beast was originally an ordinary marine Radiation Beast, but under the ocean people’s domestication, it gradually mutated.”

Gao Gong mused:

”So, you mean that this Ocean Person possesses some kind of bloodline power that can cause biological mutations or, rather, directional mutations?”

’Little Woman’ nodded but then shook her head, puzzled:

”This should be the case, but when I secretly investigated, I found that the other party doesn’t seem to fully grasp this power. Their source of power seems to be some A-level Radiation Beast posing as a deity, yet that Radiation Beast also doesn’t possess this power. It’s very peculiar.”

”So what you need me to do is to extract this bloodline power through biological transformation?”

”Yes.”

”I see,” Gao Gong thoughtfully stared at the ’Ocean Person projection.’

The saying goes that the rich rely on technology while the poor rely on mutations, so are you a technological product or a mutation crystal?

...

The Trilobite and the hybrid girl were in the midst of an intense escape.

In the dark sea, hidden hunters occasionally revealed their claws and teeth, and the Trilobite grabbed the girl, pulling her behind.

The next moment, a submarine-like B-level Mechanical Beast emerged from the darkness, its mouth slowly opening, and with immense suction, drew the surrounding half-metalized fish into its mouth.

In terms of physique, marine Mechanical Beasts are completely different from terrestrial Mechanical Beasts.

The mechanical organs, parts, and plugins of terrestrial Mechanical Beasts are mostly external, facilitating timely replacement.
