Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 460: Chapter 2: Rise of the Mutant Species

Originally, this great serpent was a good choice for completing the ’massage,’ but unfortunately, Gao Gong, lost in the excitement of battle, ended up finishing it off with a single blow.

By the time he realized, it was too late to complete the massage therapist’s task.

”Damn it!”

Gao Gong clicked his tongue, and his figure transformed once again into the previous ’pure water form,’ or rather, the carbon-based fluid form.

The bloodline of a Level 3 Civilization, no matter how inferior, is still Level 3, not to mention that the strongest aspect of carbon-based fluid creatures is their survival ability.

’Cosmic Slime’ is not just an empty name.

In the deep sea, especially in the territory of A-level and S-level marine species, even Gao Gong would constantly accumulate negative states.

However, once transformed into the ’carbon-based fluid form,’ it’s no longer a problem at all.

The transplantation of two Tier 3 bloodlines, carbon-based fluid life and Blue Blood People, consumed a full 20% of the transformation rate.

At levels 20 to 30, with a biological transformation rate as high as 50%, it’s now somewhat insufficient.

’Trash bloodline? Watch me transform them into the most badass bloodline with biological transformation.’

Glancing at his personal system, Gao Gong closed the panel, his brow furrowed, feeling a bit frustrated.

Without advancing to the ’Radiation Massage Therapist,’ transformation was not possible.

Suddenly, Gao Gong raised his brows and shot straight out from the deep sea. The water’s pressure had no impact on him, and he surfaced thousands of meters away in just a few breaths.

At this moment, the sea surface was surging with giant waves. The white crests crashed down with a thunderous roar.

Not far away, a few massive storms raged, undoubtedly caused by his butterfly-like flapping of tiny wings.

After killing three A-level Radiation Beasts, Gao Gong had gauged his own power level.

In a normal state, he was akin to a boss-level 40 or 50.

In complete form, equivalent to a top-level expert of a Level 2 Civilization, roughly equal to an S-Level Radiation Beast, or the normal state of Yagami Suuji, or a Mechanical Legion Leader in individual mode.

Why specify normal state, and individual mode? Because both Yagami Suuji and the Mechanical Leader possess ’Destruction Mode,’ allowing them to call various celestial-based weapons, large energy weapons, or even satellite orbital bombardments by utilizing the authority of the Mother City.

As they say, one person is equivalent to a legion.

If Gao Gong completed a thorough ’fusion transformation,’ he would be almost at that level.

Therefore, after three encounters with A-level Radiation Beasts, Gao Gong finally determined his own level—half-step innate.

Upon flying out from the seabed, looking around, apart from the storm, giant waves, and the school of fish killed by the waves, there was nothing else.

Yet Gao Gong’s expression grew increasingly peculiar.

Transparent tentacles began to protrude from within his body, and rows of blue dots lit up on each tentacle.

A total of over a hundred tentacles grew, each 20 to 30 meters long. At this moment, Gao Gong resembled an A-level Radiation Beast with a name full of letters.

Rich Lady’s happy hand waved wildly, each swing causing a massive blue halo to flash. The light blurred areas resonated with the surrounding space.

The space began to unravel, with countless biological information running like codes. Each of Gao Gong’s tentacles penetrated a type of biological pheromone.

This was the only means to enter the ’biological local area network,’ or rather, the complete form of the ’Brain-in-a-Vat.’

In ’reality,’ instead of the ’Cyber Network,’ Gao Gong transformed into the Rich Lady Love form for the first time.

Of course, within the ’Brain-in-a-Vat,’ reality was hardly the right term.

Domesticated ’Brains-in-a-Vat’ create a super-modern metropolis.

However, the wild ones create a biological city, where skyscrapers become biological nests, highways transform into the blood vessels of giant beasts, and vehicles become various Mechanical Beasts. Radiation Beasts become power sources, entering and leaving major biological companies as corporate employees, conversing about overtime, missed year-end bonuses, and complaining about the boss being an idiot.

This was a unique biological ecosystem, rarely encountered even within Carbon-Based Civilization.

Gao Gong took a glance and stepped onto the top of the tallest building, or rather, the head of the A-level Radiation Beast ’Mechanical Fortress.’

There, a little woman-like Brain-in-a-Vat seemed to have been waiting for a long time.

In front of her was the vast ocean, and this biological city floated on the sea.

”So this is your appearance,” the ’little woman’ said calmly.

In front of the Brain-in-a-Vat, the charm of the Rich Lady Love form seemed ineffective.

After all, strictly speaking, this being did not even have a gender.

”Well, this is my youthful mode,” Gao Gong nodded, unfazed, and stood beside her, looking at the sea.

”Meeting three A-level Radiation Beasts in three days, I thought even with so many sea monsters, it couldn’t just be luck.”

”Therefore, the only possibility was that someone was secretly guiding me, and I guessed that this person was likely you.”

”The dimensions you perceive are becoming increasingly high. Perhaps soon, you’ll be in the same horizon as I am,” the little woman said softly.

”Perhaps,” Gao Gong smiled, not denying. With an existence like a Brain-in-a-Vat, such words were not a boast but a genuine compliment.

To say nothing of it, his perception was approaching two hundred, while the other party’s perception was likely over ten thousand.

This was the absolute advantage of informational organisms.

”Then, do you understand why I’m here?”

”I understand. ’War’ gave me a very bad feeling. I will help you deal with it.”

”From your tone, you’ve met him?” Gao Gong asked in surprise.

”It recruited me, but I refused,” the ’little woman’ did not hide it. ”From it, I felt a disregard for life and a strong destructiveness.”

”Destructive? Are you referring to this?”

Gao Gong extended his palm, and the black energy of ’destructive energy’ began tearing the surrounding space.

In reality, destructive energy had not reached 100%, so it could not be wielded, but within the biological space, Gao Gong could perform it.

The ’little woman’ and Gao Gong were both surprised, though perhaps at different points.

After the initial surprise, the ’little woman’ nodded and said, ”Indeed, it is the same kind of energy, but I can sense that the energy ’war’ possesses has become different from yours, more domineering, more ancient.”

”Ancient?”

Gao Gong frowned, feeling a sense of unease. Domineering suggested that the other party possessed a deeper mastery of ’destructive energy,’ but ancient implied they had acquired the means to ’revive ancient creatures’?

”Alright, enough about it. You called me specifically for a reason. What is it you need me to do?”

Given the Brain-in-a-Vat’s style, their reason for helping must be due to needing something.

The ’little woman’ nodded, showing no embarrassment. She lightly tapped the ’railing,’ or rather, the corner of the ’Mechanical Fortress.’ Instantly, the sound of thousands of train whistles blared simultaneously, and amidst the earth-shaking resonance, the entire biological city began to sink slowly.

During the descent, the fleshy streets visibly transformed into an algae-like existence, buildings on both sides grew underwater breathing organs, resembling gills like glass windows. More intriguingly, the ’mechanical vehicles’ all transformed into ’submarine’ forms.

Unfortunately, this large-scale transformation only lasted halfway. When the biological city sank halfway, it gave a vehement thud and came to a halt.

Gao Gong finally understood what the other party intended.

He was surprised as he looked at her.

”You want to evolve all of the terrestrial species under your control, millions of Radiation Beasts, into marine species?”

In reality, the last time this was attempted was 370 million years ago when lobe-finned fish began their venture ashore, leading to everything after, including the birth of vertebrates.

”There is no habitat on land; only the ocean remains the paradise of the future!”

As the ’little woman’ spoke, with a ’ding,’ Gao Gong received a massive chain mission titled ’The Rise of Radiation Species.’

This mission was at Heaven-Level.
