Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Within the range of the electromagnetic field, the attacked will have five states applied: ’Paralysis -10%’, ’Resistance -10%’, ’Armor Weakening +10%’, ’Impact Damage +10%’, ’Ranged Attack +10%’. For every 10,000 increase in Biological Energy, species state +5%.

Note: The hero’s landing begins with the destruction of the enemy.

This is a rare Tier 2 gem, adding area-based negative states. With Gao Gong’s Biological Energy, these five negative states can increase to about 40%. In other words, when Gao Gong descends from above, the enemy’s resistance, armor, and other states are directly cut in half.

And this Biological Lander looks very much like one’s own faction’s ’Biological Chip’, even smaller, looking like a ’coin’-sized meatball.

On its surface, Gao Gong did see the words ’Balance Technology’.

”Purchase now, and it comes with free implantation. Just 2 million Liangzhou Coin, or 200,000 Mother City Coin, and you can take it home.”

The Bionic Man salesperson eagerly promoted.

Gao Gong smiled, put down the Biological Chip, and left directly.

On the way, Ah Q couldn’t help but ask, ”You seem very interested in that Exoskeleton, is it because you have no money?”

”Why spend money on something you can steal.”

”Of course, if you intend to gift it to me, that’s another matter.”

Ah Q shrank his head and immediately acted submissively.

...

On the other side, Zhang Yu, the Logistics Manager of the Liangzhou Branch of Balance Technology, walked down the corridor with a grim face. The surrounding employees quickly avoided him, fearing they might provoke his ire.

Balance Technology is a giant corporation with various research bases globally and close cooperation with major military giants.

This is both its advantage and the reason for its internal conflict.

As is well known, the reason for a company’s internal strife is largely due to differences in development philosophy, aside from poor management.

More accurately, it’s due to different directions in their technology tree.

Early on, Balance Technology, with its solid Biotechnology foundation, became a partner of major military giants, providing these military contractors with custom Biological Technologies, such as Artificial Warriors, Bio-Beasts, Biological Viruses, etc. Over the years, it naturally developed several, or even dozens of Biotechnology routes.

These are roughly divided into two major factions: the Weapon Faction and the Armed Faction.

The former, naturally, specializes in manufacturing massive destructive weapons, like detergent.

The latter is much more complex, researching drugs that stimulate soldiers’ potential on the battlefield, allowing an ordinary soldier to temporarily have the strength comparable to a Transformer, or modifying weapons with biological structures to even achieve race transformation.

Due to the complex tech route of the ’Armed Faction,’ they are in fierce competition with the ’Biological Weapons Faction,’ and various sub-factions within them are also in constant conflict.

Zhang Yu belongs to the ’Program Robot Faction,’ a sub-faction of the ’Armed Faction.’ His sour expression is because headquarters reduced the budget for the Liangzhou City experiment again.

Besides, he has a hidden worry, having prepared for the Knight Order’s pieces without any word from them.

That’s more troubling.

His rise to a top position is largely due to the Knight Order, which also holds much of his dark past. If exposed, he would be doomed.

’Could General Dongg be planning to replace me?’

’Impossible, unless there’s internal Knight Order conflict or General Dongg is removed, since I belonged to his faction.’

’Or, General Dongg received a temporary mission?’

’What mission could be more important than me?’

All the way, Zhang Yu’s thoughts were chaotic until he reached the office, where he breathed out long, massaged his scalp, feeling head pain.

Since undergoing the Brain Beam modification, ’Accelerated Thinking’ occasionally went awry, showing this technology still had significant issues.

However, once he completed the ’Final Experiment,’ his faction would rise as an important faction in the ’Biological Armament Faction,’ and he might even transfer to headquarters.

By then, he wouldn’t be under the Knight Order’s control anymore.

At this thought, his headache eased.

At this moment, a Neural Editor came to report.

”Chief Steward Zhang, an Advanced Organism has been detected in the city. How should we handle it?”

”Advanced Organism?” Zhang Yu took the report handed over without raising his head: ”Is it from one of our competitors?”

”It doesn’t seem so; it’s not a known figure in the global mercenary market.”

”Then, is it on the list?”

”It’s not.”

Hearing this, Zhang Yu sighed. The so-called list is the personnel roster of the six core departments of the Mother City.

Once Mother City’s personnel appear, any company must cooperate unconditionally.

While this represents the authority of Mother City, it’s undeniably a very unpleasant policy.

Especially the ones from the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, exploiting the list’s power, issued numerous hefty fines, which are absolutely sickening.

”Since it’s neither a competitor nor a person from Mother City, just handle it directly.”

Zhang Yu handed back the photo with a smirk.

”There are always some ignorant ants wanting to challenge a giant corporation’s authority.”

The person in the photo was Gao Gong.

...

In a tailor shop, Gao Gong was picking various styles of suits under the enthusiastic service of a female Bionic Man.

Ah Q watched this scene, bored, thinking this NPC was just looking without buying, dawdling like a woman.

And what’s with this guy? Really dragging me around shopping?

Surprisingly, when the other emerged from the fitting room, he said to the salesperson, ”This one, but I need a size smaller.”

The salesperson hesitated, ”But sir, the size you’re wearing fits perfectly.”

”That’s not your concern; just have it tailored.”

”You’re actually buying it,” Ah Q exclaimed.

Gao Gong smiled slightly, not answering.

What’s with this guy? But he is quite handsome; is he a male escort?

Sitting in the waiting area, Gao Gong tapped the armrest, letting his thoughts fly.

The best way to gauge a Mechanical City’s technological level is by looking at what it can sell.

In Liangzhou City, he could buy Tier 2 Biological Exoskeletons, Tier 2 Biological Potions, and even some Tier 2 weapons.

In terms of Tier 2 products, Liangzhou City had much more than Nightless City.

This shows Balance Technology is truly a giant, as even a branch can elevate the Mechanical City’s market to that of Level 2 Civilization standard.

Even some prosthetic body plugins tempted Gao Gong, given his 20~30 Biological Transformation Rate was maxed, while the Mechanical Transformation Rate still had 30% space.

’Moreover, this Cyber Test Field’s foundation is deeper than Nightless City’s, worthy of an old Biotechnology giant, leading this Cyber Experiment without relying on a Mechanical Main Brain through a corporate branch’s power.’

The so-called ’foundation’ naturally refers to the 4D building covering the entire ’Liangzhou City.’ This type of building material is very special; according to Gao Gong’s Perception, it has both Biological and Information Attributes.

And the function of this material, well, he’d soon find out.

”Oh, I got you a gift.”

To Ah Q’s amazement, Gao Gong’s finger slowly melted, turning into a liquid form, then shot towards him, penetrating his skin.

”It should be about ready.”

Muttering to himself, Gao Gong’s eyes reflected the fluctuation of data streams.

The entire Liangzhou City, more than two million 4D buildings simultaneously became Biological Signal Towers. The flow rate of Biological Signals soared, tenfold, hundredfold, thousandfold, ten thousandfold, hundred thousandfold.

With the aid of the enterprise-level supercomputer, the entire Liangzhou City seemed to transform into a digestive system, digesting various biological signals.

And its ’stomach’ was precisely where Gao Gong was.

Gao Gong’s body visibly dissolved until only a mechanical skeleton was left, toppling backwards.

The organism was gone.

”Processing complete.”

Seeing the target’s Biological Signal absorbed on the display, the Neural Editor nodded and decisively switched pages.

”Wha-wha, holy cow!”

Ah Q was utterly shocked.
