Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 431: Chapter 177: Dayless and Nightless (Part 1)

”Kid, what the hell are you doing!”

When the biological bat army of Hong Bing infiltrated a defense node, it was once again disrupted by the sudden intrusion of a counterfeit G. The middle-aged president could no longer hold back. He took off his gloves, revealing decayed hands, from which gray gas wafted out.

The counterfeit G let out a slight ”hmm,” instinctively sensing an intense threat.

However, in the next moment, this replica of Mr. G burst into wild laughter.

”Great, I’ve always found you displeasing. If I take you out, I will be the number two of the Powerful Gang!”

The next moment, terrifying gravity came from two directions, almost becoming tangible. Steel plates tore apart as two unmanned military machines shot up from the ground, one on each side, charging towards Hong Bing.

The previously indifferent expression of an unnamed young man showed a flicker of surprise.

Yet amidst the terrifying impact, two water-barrel-thick arms slowly pushed away the fists of the military machines. Where the decayed hands pressed, the metal surface of the military machines visibly corroded, quickly becoming mostly decayed.

A deformed humanoid monster now appeared in front of the counterfeit G.

Its arms were as thick as water barrels, yet its legs were as slender as bamboo poles. Especially from the shoulder blades, a pair of large bat wings gradually extended, almost covering the entire body. One of Hong Bing’s eyes was normal, but the other was completely bulged, filled with blood vessels.

Carbon fusion, and a mutated version of carbon fusion.

”Oh no, we’ve really pissed him off. A large-scale biological virus body,” Old Pawa scratched his head full of white hair and sighed, ”It’s time to retreat, if we don’t leave now, we’re in trouble too.”

”We’re just going to leave the newbie?” Don was astonished.

”First rule of the Powerful Gang, take care of your own mess.”

”Isn’t it supposed to be that you are responsible for your own experiment?” Don muttered.

”Now that both sides are genuinely fighting, let’s wait until they’ve decided the winner before coming back to clean up the mess,” Old Pawa’s voice drifted, ”But I have a feeling that the final outcome of this turmoil might be beyond your and my expectations.”

The next moment, three beams of traction light fell from thin air, a spatial traction technology unique to the Celtic Star System. The three of them disappeared instantly from the scene, and amidst the radioactive clouds, the silhouette of an alien spaceship flickered away.

”The old thing saw things going south and left, it seems you really are an expendable piece.”

Hong Bing’s voice became hoarse and unpleasant. Under the double gravity of the two military machines, he slowly began flapping his wings to take flight.

”Why can’t the expendable piece be you?” the counterfeit G pouted, with the typical defiant expression of a web novel protagonist.

Hong Bing began to laugh slowly, his mouth full of sharp teeth all equipped with barbs.

”As the head of a biological company, it seems you still don’t understand the implications.”

”This means all the latest models of biotechnology are implanted into me first, and all advanced drugs that enhance status are given to me first. A super organism built on an entire company’s resources, you completely don’t understand its true power.”

”So what? The meaning of my existence is to suppress all enemies in the world!” The counterfeit G had a thought, and the military machines directly merged with him, assuming a classic combat pose.

”Come, challenge me!”

”You idiot, you think this is some street brawl?”

At the same time, on Hong Bing’s implanted chip, the voice of artificial intelligence sounded.

’Chairman, the biological virus concentration has reached the standard.’

”So, rot! Everything!”

Hong Bing laughed maniacally and with a fierce swipe of his claws, in the next moment, the virus, invisible to the naked eye, rapidly spread with him at the center. Everywhere it passed, whether mechanical life or organism, all began to rot. The metal surface erupted with numerous bubbles, while the flesh directly began to wither.

Such a large-scale biological weapon, if converted into a blueprint, would at least be an 8-level biological blueprint, more terrifying than the ”Black Winter.”

Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands.

The biological weapon engulfed everything.

And the counterfeit G looked incredulously at his own skin, which began to rot crazily, as if his entire body were being immersed in sulfuric acid.

...

Meanwhile, at the birthplace of the ’Pale Angel,’ Dr. Murray was frowning at various secretive data.

The ’sensory data’ provided by the moral chip was abundant, leading to the creation of numerous data processing centers.

These ’data hubs’ were far more important than the Illusion Mansion.

However, at this moment, half of these ’nodes’ scattered throughout the city were under siege.

”Things aren’t looking good, if the computational power continues to dissipate like this, the plan is likely to fail.”

Dr. Murray looked up, only to see the original location of the ’Pale Angel’ replaced by a black box magnified a hundred times.

On each face of the black box, more than half had been covered by white light, yet the speed of the white light’s consumption was far below expectations.

This was half due to the resistance of the Mechanic, and the other half due to the actions of mercenaries from the Sub-human Continent, the interference of players, and the actions of advanced NPCs.

Even more strangely, not only was the white light weakening, the black light of the Mechanic was also diminishing.

...

In a part of the Business District, the Collider was sweeping through like a giant of steel, with its target being a series of ’main brain wells.’

Each time a node was closed, the mechanical eyeliner inside would fall asleep.

These nodes were known only to those within the Mother City.

The Collider handled the violent openings, Chapai handled hacking, and Pupil provided assistance.

This was a standard Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division action team.

Although they acted the latest, their efficiency was the highest. Up to this point, they had already closed seven nodes, putting at least thirty thousand mechanical eyeliners to sleep.

Mechanical eyeliners in the underground ’Mechanical Hub’ were being continuously mass-produced; destroy one, and another was produced.

This is the truly terrifying aspect of the Mechanical Main Brain.

However, through this action, it can directly reduce the ’quota’ produced by Mechanical Eyeliner.

”Ghost in the Shell Mobile, conquer all things!”

The Collider laughed out loud and uttered this classic quote.

...

As the black light faded, the progress of the white light seemed to gain momentum again.

However, before Dr. Murray could rejoice for long, suddenly, the number of ’Data Hubs’ began to decrease at an alarming rate.

A large number of white dots disappeared.

”What is happening?!”

The holographic recording of the Data Hub opened, only vaguely capturing the fleeting figure of a girl.

The next moment, the entire building exploded.

Replaying the footage, it showed a standard hundred-man security squad, barely putting up any resistance, a flash of blade, and they were all decapitated.

Scenes like this would occur every one or two minutes.

”Where did this monster come from?!”

Dr. Murray’s eyes widened, as the image zoomed in and finally froze on the girl’s face. She seemed like an angel, with energy lines on her body, even the energy wings on her back and her shoulder-length hair seemed to be ablaze.

”How much defensive power do we have left now?”

”It’s all been deployed!”

Dr. Murray was silent for a moment, then made a firm decision.

”Activate the last defense system!”

...

Violent energy filled every part of the body, and all the gears of the Dragon Scale Greatsword turned in unison. In the moment of control, it truly resembled a golden dragon.

Note on Dragon Scale Greatsword: When the blade dances in encrypted nonary ring encoding, you will become the strongest guardian of the Emperor.

When the Emperor’s Might fused with the blade body, Xiao Yu realized what ’encrypted nonary’ meant. The real world in her eyes turned into a ’Grid World’ composed of Destructive Energy, and as long as she followed the grid to slay, everything in front of her would be annihilated instantly.

Level 30 Mechanical Claw People, Level 35 large Robots, high-level Peacekeepers, none of them were exceptions.

And as the hilt, Gao Gong could be said to ’empathize deeply’, he could vaguely feel that this was destruction on the level of life itself, akin to the process of the first life’s annihilation, creating through destruction.

The girl seemed to be entering a state of sudden enlightenment, and if she completed it, she would fully master the Destructive Energy.

Gao Gong was also very curious, the skills completed through comprehension, to which level would they belong, Tier 3? Tier 4?

Monsters emerging from the Cyber Test Field were no exaggeration.

”Huh?”

The head on the hilt suddenly turned towards a direction, towards the ’Illusion Mansion’, the center of the storm, the Arasaka Tower of Nightless City.

At this moment, the building began to crumble visibly, the outer wall started to wither, then the steel structures, and then the supporting columns.

Finally, an enormous internal structure began to emerge.

Armstrong Rotary Acceleration Jet Armstrong Cannon?

The term unexpectedly popped into Gao Gong’s head.

No way, it really looked like it. The metal column was over a hundred meters, and it had a piling machine-like appearance.

”There’s really such a thing!?”

Gao Gong knew what this thing was called.

Continent Plate Impact Device, also known as the Ruyi Golden Cudgel!

This thing is a strategic weapon of a Level 3 Civilization, a Civilization Weapon that can only be crafted by merging Professional Knowledge Chains.

As for its function, as its name suggests, it’s an existence that can alter continental plates.

Ordinary Level 3 Civilizations modify planetary surfaces using this thing.

It’s much more civilized than using space-based weapons.

Moreover, it has a characteristic of tearing apart all energy through a super vibration.

There’s only one thought in Gao Gong’s mind, is this thing actually for sale?

Where to buy it? Can you send me a link?

The next moment, the Continent Plate Impact Device activated.

Centered on the Illusion Mansion, the surrounding hundred-meter buildings were all shattered, and the next moment, a violent shockwave engulfed everything.

Wherever the shockwave passed, all mechanical systems collapsed, and the reverberations even spread from the Business District to the Main Brain Area, then extended from the surface to the Earth’s core.

The Mechanical Hub in operation experienced a noticeable downtime.

The high-speed was collapsing, buildings were crumbling, various piloting tools were directly lifted into the air, this alone was equivalent to an eight-magnitude earthquake, with unmeasurable casualties.

Xiao Yu was shocked awake, looking around to find herself suspended in mid-air, the world she saw with her naked eyes crumbling and drifting away.

”This——”
