Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 40: Chapter 34: Health Is a Blessing

An armored vehicle was speeding along the abandoned highway.

Iron Hide wore an excited expression.

”Fat Xiang, I didn’t expect you to be so amazing and such a good fighter, not to mention that transformation! Wow, I always thought you were just a big fool before.”

”Hehe.”

Fat Xiang scratched his head and let out a silly laugh.

The battlefield is the best training ground. For Iron Hide, it only meant that his driving skills became more fierce, but Fat Xiang was completely transformed.

Uh, only during his transformation though. When not transformed, he’s still that fool.

Gao Gong glanced at the other, thinking to himself that this guy’s skill levels were really high. He wondered how Aunt Xiang trained him, or was he just born this way?

In the ”Cyber Realm,” skill levels are divided into Common, Advanced, Elite, Expert, and Master, with civilization as a prerequisite.

Gao Gong’s two highest skills are only ’Advanced,’ while this silly kid’s transformation is ’Elite.’

This made Gao Gong suspect whether this kid started practicing passively from the womb, since it’s not like he can gain experience by hunting like a Mechanical Bio-Beast.

But this is undoubtedly a good thing. As long as he can fully adapt to the battlefield, he’ll become a complete monster.

”Boss, why are we heading back so early today?”

Ever since experiencing the battlefield and witnessing Gao Gong’s methods, Iron Hide was completely convinced and regarded him as his second boss. He just wondered when he would be official enough to get a raise or some insurance.

A healthy organization provides the best benefits for each member.

This was part of a speech given by his previous boss, an excellent gang leader, during a gang meeting.

Although after the speech, he got fired.

Gao Gong naturally didn’t know Iron Hide’s thoughts. He was just pondering how to spend the 80,000 experience points he’d earned over the past ten days.

Thanks to the high intensity of the hunting war, his gains in less than ten days equaled those of the previous month.

Well, upgrading was undoubtedly the first step.

[You have upgraded Mechanical Transformer to lv10 max, Strength +1, Agility +1, Perception +1]

[You have reached the max level for the profession and cannot upgrade further]

[You meet the requirements to change professions, would you like to change?]

Of course ’No,’ Biological Transformation has only grafted some skin, and the Classical Stream Mechanical Hunter’s mission chain isn’t complete yet; switching professions now would be brainless.

Instead, the sub-profession could be worth a try.

[You have upgraded [Electronic Neurology] to Lv5]

[You have upgraded [Human Biology] to Lv5]

[You have upgraded [Human Body Mechanics] to Lv5]

[Electronic Neurology]Lv5: Conducting in-depth research on brain and body, modifying nerve fibers, simulating neural signals with electronic circuits

[Human Biology]Lv5: Organ, structure, function of various human levels, and their biological interactions with the surrounding environment

[Human Body Mechanics] Lv5: Design principles of artificial implants

[You have upgraded Prosthetic Doctor to lv5 max, Perception +1]

[Total Level increased to lv19]

[You have triggered the profession change mission, Senior Prosthetic Doctor]

[Profession Change Mission: The Dark Medicine of the Old Doctor]

Mission content:

1. Successfully complete three prosthetic transformation surgeries

2. Create two transformation components unique to your own approach

3. Conduct a prosthetic experiment

’Tsk, this small switch is harder than my previous life.’

Gao Gong remembered that a normal Prosthetic Doctor’s Level 5 small switch only required completing one prosthetic surgery, one transformation component, and one prosthetic experiment.

This was likely due to the additional level 5 boosts in the three professional knowledges.

But this isn’t an issue.

With the extra difficulty, there must be extra rewards.

After some thought, Gao Gong decisively upgraded [Invasive Neural Modification Technology] to lv5.

[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]lv5: The principles of neural signal transmission enhancement

The three professional knowledges provided by the Prosthetic Doctor were all related to prosthetic implantation and crafting; however, the function of [Invasive Neural Modification Technology] was about linking prosthetic bodies and modifying mechanical species.

Then came the much-anticipated gambling blueprint phase.

As a wealthy man with nearly 60,000 experience points on hand.

Naturally, Gao Gong opted to inject to the max. All kinds of tech strategies or hidden missions couldn’t compare to the glee of spending big.

With enough spending, I am the wish itself.

lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]+lv5[Electronic Neurology]

[Fusion successful, you have researched Level 1 Neural Blueprint [Advanced Neural Massage Chair]]

What the heck, a black start. Level 5 knowledge yields a Level 1 blueprint, what kind of nonsense is that, an old-age massage chair?

lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]+lv5[Electronic Neurology]

[Fusion successful, you have researched Level 2 Neural Blueprint [Happy Shaking Stick]]

This Happy Shaking Stick... is its happiness legitimate?

lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]+lv5[Electronic Neurology]

[Fusion successful, you have researched ...]

Five straight junk blueprints came out, and the black veil on Gao Gong’s forehead pulsed as his eye twitched, and his mouth trembled, making Iron Hide beside him tense up with a thudding heart — oh no, has the boss found out about my salary raise wish?

Fortunately, the sixth blueprint finally changed from black to red.

lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]+lv5[Electronic Neurology]

[Fusion successful, you have researched Level 3 Neural Blueprint [Central Nervous System Direct Control Circle]]

Gao Gong glanced at the note on this blueprint.

Note: Can perform restrictive transformation on the neural system of medium and small mechanical species, suitable for radiation values below 10000.

That is, Mechanical Bio-Beasts below Grade C.

As for ’Restrictive Modification’, this thing—

Tightening Ring!

Gao Gong’s eyes lit up. After [Desert Skin], he had pulled out another hit.

Compared to [Desert Skin], this blueprint is more accessible; it doesn’t even require transforming into a Mechanical Hunter, just having a Perception over 5 to use.

The higher the Perception, the more Mechanical Bio-Beasts you can control.

This can completely be made into an ’Alliance Specialty’!

Gao Gong immediately decided that he wouldn’t cooperate with Little Finger on this blueprint.

Being pampered by a Rich Lady is enjoyable, but owning the wealth to pamper a Rich Lady is even more delightful.

Change professional knowledge, change your luck.

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Mechanical Blueprint [Human Pleasure Manipulator]]

This pleasure... is it legitimate?

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 VR Blueprint [Open Virtual Projection]]

According to the note, this virtual projection is no longer fixed VR equipment with a fixed storyline but can be somewhat controlled by the creator’s intent.

In short, this thing is a ’Special Effects Generator’.

Add to it some adult-themed hand-drawn books, tsk tsk.

Unfortunately, I’ve already retired, Gao Gong shook his head, suddenly moved in thought.

If this thing is modified, it seems it can be used as ’Assistive Combat Equipment’.

Imagine pairing your assassin-style sword skill with it; you could generate Sword Qi whenever you want, create clones at will, summon the sound system whenever desired.

Qiao Feng: Dad no longer has to worry about my speaker being smashed.

It’s kind of interesting, oh.

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Neural Blueprint [Neural Frequency Amplifier]]

This small gadget is also pretty good; it can strengthen the connection of neural devices.

Then there were three more junk blueprints.

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Invasive Neural Modification Technology]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 3 Neural Blueprint [Manual Nerve Disruptor]]

Gao Gong was delighted inside, he had indeed pulled it out.

In his past life, this thing was also called the Monster-Opening Divine Artifact, its function was to form a super noise field of 300*300 meters.

Within this range, its effect is equivalent to ten times construction site noise—for monsters.

They’ll try their hardest to smash this thing.

And this blueprint, for Gao Gong, is equally a fish-blasting divine artifact.

In the future, when hunting Desert Worms, he won’t have to patiently wait for them to emerge like a simp.

I will use noise to disturb the monsters!

[Central Nervous System Direct Control Circle], [Open Virtual Projection], [Manual Nerve Disruptor]

With these three blueprints, Gao Gong won’t need any other ’Neural Connection Devices’ for a while.

So he switched direction.

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Human Body Mechanics]+lv4[Mechanical Transformation]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Mechanical Blueprint [Giant Grip Magnetic Sensing Gloves]]

The gloves can increase grip strength by 9%, improve heavy damage from blunt weapons by 12%, and come with the ’Magnetic Sense Call’ skill.

This skill is equivalent to a weakened version of the ’Electromagnetic Exciter’. With these gloves, as long as you adjust the suction, you can draw the weapon to you; the heavier the weapon, the stronger the suction.

It’s very suitable for heavy weapon users.

However, the image of these Magnetic Sensing Gloves gave Gao Gong a strong sense of déjà vu.

Aren’t these just Thanos’ Gauntlet without the gems?

If Thanos had an extra pair of these gloves back then, he wouldn’t have been snapped.

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Human Body Mechanics]+lv4[Mechanical Transformation]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Mechanical Blueprint [High-Temperature Metal Boots]]

This is a wearable assistive device, weighing 5.7kg, adjustable in size, with attributes of Power+2, +15% ground grip, and reduces the chance of a stun effect.

Gao Gong gave Fat Xiang a strange look, could the Luck God really be in front of me?

These two pieces of equipment are obviously suitable for large profile players, prepared specifically for the MT.

Gao Gong, disbelieving, opened two more blueprints.

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 1 Mechanical Blueprint [Torque Belt]]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Mechanical Blueprint [Violent Headband]]

One is a fine little whiteboard with Endurance +4, and the other has an auxiliary skill ’Bloodthirst’, adding 15% critical strike rate in ’Bloodthirst’ state.

”Brother Gao, why are you touching me?” Fat Xiang asked dumbly.

”Nothing, just feeling your fullness, and also touching some luck.”

lv5[Human Biology]+lv5[Human Body Mechanics]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Technology Blueprint [Blood Coagulator]]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Technology Blueprint [Polymer Scalpel]]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 2 Pharmaceutical Blueprint [Metal Calming Pill]]

[Fusion Successful, you researched Level 1 Prosthetic Blueprint [Immune Appendix]]

...

After opening more than twenty blueprints, only seven were legitimate ones, and they were all related to surgery.

Well, what can you say, good health is a blessing?
