Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 12: Chapter 6: Prosthetic Doctor Little Finger

’Data rebooting’

’Prosthetic body data matching’

’Internal skeleton system resuming operation.’

’Eye chip activated, eyeball implant functioning normally’

’Mechanical heart charging’

Gao Gong seemed to have a bizarre dream, where neon streams spanned across star systems, and he transformed into a virtual sovereign, wandering in various realms of civilization. Behind him were countless adaptable templates of intelligent races, and wherever he passed, numerous old sp personalities bowed and worshiped.

Suddenly, someone jumped out, angrily shouting, to buy your paper dolls, I even sold my kidney, an eye for an eye, you must face the same fate.

He hadn’t had the chance to sell him the ’Enhanced Reproduction Gift Pack’ before virtual divas, electronic idols, experienced empresses, and mature models swarmed from behind, engulfing him.

’Kidney, kidney, kidney, give me back my kidney—’

Gao Gong sat up suddenly, drenched in sweat, gasping for air.

So terrifying, the virtual units he developed actually charged him, draining his account so much that he couldn’t even enter the Mechanical City, forcing him to sell his body and kneel in front of rich ladies begging for sponsorship.

The experiences of the previous life merged into the original owner’s memories, piecing together this strange dream realm.

However, the body of that rich lady in a black skin-tight clothing was really hot, just that the whip was a bit thick...

”You look like you’re suffering from kidney deficiency,” Little Finger mocked while operating the surgery table.

”Do you want a bionic kidney, or should I install ’Mr. Oak: Type Three’ for you?”

Gao Gong touched his right eye, the blurry vision became clear due to focusing, finally freezing on the balding middle-aged man in front of him.

The Iron Sand Desert is not the Nightless City; it’s rare for prosthetic doctors to choose to settle in this radiation zone.

After all, given their skills, they could live comfortably in the Nightless City too.

And among all prosthetic doctors in the Oasis, Little Finger ranks in the top three in terms of skill level.

However, Gao Gong was not polite to him.

”My kidney deficiency is due to overuse, what’s your reason for balding, using your mechanical hand to fly planes every day?”

Little Finger’s face darkened; he glared at Gao Gong indignantly, wishing to stab him in the chest with a scalpel.

”Stop talking nonsense, pay up! With the prosthetic eye and internal skeleton repair, it’s a total of five thousand six hundred Mechanical Coins, plus the three bullets in you, at a hundred each, we’ll round it up to a nice even six thousand Mechanical Coins. Are you paying by card or cash?”

”You charge for bullet extraction too! Why don’t you just rob people?”

”With my skills, do I need to resort to robbery?”

”I have no money, won’t give up my life, and won’t sell my dignity either.”

”Screw it, don’t get cocky, kid, or I’ll pull out your prosthetic implant and turn you into a vegetable!”

Gao Gong decisively flipped a middle finger, pulling off the infusion tubes from a few interfaces — the surgery was already done, whom are you trying to fool?

”Where are you going?” Seeing the other staggering towards the door, Little Finger couldn’t help but ask.

”To the bathroom, do you want to eat my shit?”

In the washroom, Gao Gong switched on the mirror, and water cascade from above washed the mirror clean, revealing a face both strange and familiar.

It was a handsome face tinged with a hint of wildness, around twenty-five or six years old, resembling the first version of the ’Girl Slayer’ he developed. Unfortunately, this version of the ’Virtual Companion’ didn’t sell well, to be exact, it was all praise but no sales.

Ironically, even in the universe, a girl’s wallet is still just as flat as her chest, not as full as a rich lady’s.

Fortunately, after introspection, he quickly changed course and developed the second type of ’Rich Lady Love,’ finally turning the losses into profits and even making a considerable surplus.

This also strengthened his resolve to rely on rich ladies.

The metallic piece in his palm was removed during the surgery, and judging by the skin tone, bionic skin has been replanted.

Such ornamental metal implants, besides increasing the useless transformation rate, serve no real purpose.

The path Gao Gong intends to take in the future is very difficult, the transformation rate has to be spent wisely, and cosmetic transformations are completely unnecessary.

After all, he’s already so handsome.

Overall, Gao Gong is quite satisfied with this new body.

If not looked closely, one might think he’s a bionic male model from Nightless City.

Internal Skeleton Enhancement: (Sports System): Your internal skeleton has been replaced by a titanium alloy mechanical bone. Although it’s factory mass-produced, it still endows you with sufficient mechanical power, Power +5 Endurance +2 Agility -2

Bionic Joint (Sports System): Joints that exert force in conjunction with the mechanical internal skeleton, built-in micro motor, needs timely charging Agility +2

Universal Prosthetic Eye*1: Simple visual imaging, visual range: 300 meters (non-adjustable)

Mechanical Heart Lite (Circulatory System): A regular mechanical body, backup energy source for the body, needs charging every 12 hours

Little Finger, the bald man, didn’t secretly tamper. The reinforced internal skeleton only lost a bit of endurance, while the burst bionic joint was perfectly repaired.

This indicates his skill is quite exquisite.

Sub-Profession transfer, attribute points +3, apparent strength seems to have increased, but——

”Universal Prosthetic Eye, Mechanical Heart Lite, bald one, is your heart black!”

As he squeezed the fifth tube of Nutrition Paste into his mouth like squeezing toothpaste (he had been unconscious for three days, during which he also underwent surgery), Gao Gong slapped the table, turning hostile.

Little Finger was first taken aback, then became embarrassed and angry: ”Kid, your goods are all from the Mechanical Legion, where am I supposed to get you the original version? Rob the legion’s base?”

”Apart from me, where else in the Oasis can you find a Prosthetic Doctor who installs military equipment for you?”

Gao Gong pouted, realizing he spoke the truth, but this way, his actual strength was reduced by at least 30%.

Gao Gong glanced around and suddenly brightened up upon seeing that besides moving the mobile surgery table, the old guy also placed many of the Prosthetic Doctor’s reference books on it.

He reached out to grab them.

Little Finger was quick to react, grabbing him with his mechanically transformed left hand, coldly saying: ”What are you trying to do.”

”Just a look,” Gao Gong chuckled: ”Learning from you.”

”I remember you weren’t this thick-skinned before.”

”Does being thick-skinned allow you to look?”

”You wish!”

”Only good-looking people can wish for good things.”

”You...get lost!”

Among all sub-professions, Prosthetic Doctor ranks in the top three in terms of potential, and players wanting to enter the field must complete a complex chain of tasks to get their handwritten copy and officially switch professions.

Of course, there’s another way, which is to directly kill a Prosthetic Doctor and seize his legacy.

However, Prosthetic Doctors are standard faction NPCs, each cunning like a rabbit with multiple nests, either backed by gangster groups or employed by large corporations, boasting strong defense forces.

Even stranded in the Iron Sand Desert, Little Finger is still backed by Black Rose, a well-connected Assassin Broker.

In fact, if not for Black Rose’s request, Little Finger wouldn’t even bother to deal with him.

There aren’t too many Mechanical Hunters willing to treat him like an ancestor.

”What are you two arguing about?”

With a series of explosive engine roars, a heavy motorcycle that looks exactly like Catwoman’s Batcycle from Batman 3 sped up without slowing down, pulling its handbrake sharply three centimeters in front of the two, its rear wheel, comparable to a truck’s wheel, lifted aggressively, and then slammed onto the ground.

The strong gust of wind blew up Little Finger’s already sparse hair, scaring him pale.

In the blue smoke, Catwoman - no, Black Rose in black leather with long legs - casually stood, exuding a supermodel’s demeanor.

Little Finger eagerly licked up.

”The latest model Kusinagi Blade 430, Fire Engine, 9500cc displacement, 2.3 seconds acceleration to 350 km/h, suits you perfectly, Rose, sitting on it, you’re simply valiant, a motorcycle goddess, perfect, truly perfect!”

Black Rose ignored him, securing the chain on the motorcycle to the lathe, then walked straight to Gao Gong, grasping his jaw with her smooth and slippery right hand, bowing to study him seriously.

Gao Gong felt her alcohol-tinged breath on his face, along with the envy and jealousy in Little Finger’s eyes behind.

”You seem to have recovered well,” Black Rose inspected Gao Gong’s physical condition as if checking a beloved toy.

”Mmm, not bad.”

Gao Gong’s mouth was pinched, producing vague sounds, his gaze catching her white wrist, incredibly smooth, the veins under the skin like blue circuits.

Aesthetic-level bionic transformation? Combat-type prosthetics are generally not this beautiful.

Black Rose suddenly withdrew her hand, calmly saying: ”Were you two arguing just now?”

”He wants to take my prosthetic transformation notes!” Little Finger burst with anger.

”If he wants to see, just let him. Or are you worried he’ll steal your skills?”

”Him!? If he understands, I’ll jump off the building directly!”

”Since he can’t understand, why don’t you let him see it.”

Little Finger was immediately struck dumb, while Gao Gong left feeling satisfied.

Black clothing, chain, whip.

Gao Gong’s expression changed, the Rich Lady is right beside me!
