Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 25: Chapter 19: Head Hunting

In his two lifetimes, oh no, he wasn’t very human in the previous one.

Reincarnated as a human, this was the first time Gao Gong engaged in such a brutal blade combat.

Gao Gong’s right eye had completely turned crimson; it was in infrared mode, and in this mode, two humanoid heat sources were moving at high speed.

The glint of the blade swung fiercely, clashing heavily against the opponent’s scythe. With a swift step forward with his left foot and a nimble twist of his wrist, the Red Unicorn slashed fiercely across the breastplate of another Reaper, forcing it back three steps.

[You dealt 76 points of damage to the D-Level Reaper]

Alertness kicked in, a shadow flashed in the corner of his eye, a black shadow stabbed in from his flank. Gao Gong twisted his body abruptly, narrowly avoiding a vital point, as a bloody streak emerged from his waist, blood spurting.

[You received 19 points of damage, entering a bleeding state]

The high-speed Microcomputer Tiger on Gao Gong’s left hand instantly activated the chainsaw mode, as four high-speed rotating circular saws viciously engraved into the opponent’s faceplate.

The opponent’s cheek visibly caved in, blood mixed with eye pulp ruptured in a thick goo was stirred out together.

’Ahhh~~’ a ghastly scream emanated from the opponent, as the oral apparatus behind the armor opened to reveal four sharp fangs.

[You dealt 123 points of damage to the D-Level Reaper and caused a blinding effect]

A foul wind rushed from behind, Gao Gong barely had time to dodge. With a nimble twist of his right hand, the nearly two-meter heavy long knife blocked his back in a ’Su Qin Back Sword’ pose.

However, the opponent’s downward strike had transformed; before the thick biological scythe descended, it suddenly divided into nine sections, turning from blade to whip, fiercely lashing at Gao Gong’s back.

Gao Gong could even feel the metallic clashing sound produced by his titanium alloy bones colliding with the opponent’s biological knife whip.

[You received 39 points of damage, entering a bleeding state]

If he were an ordinary person, this lash would have left him dead or half-disabled, but Gao Gong was half a Mechanical Man, and the intense pain made his consciousness exceptionally clear; he was even pondering whether to replace himself with bio-muscle when he returned.

Steel bones, only with steel bones can greater power be unleashed.

Gao Gong did not retreat but advanced, enduring the pain as electronic beams spread from his palm to five fingertips. His right wrist rotated once more, the sizable blade body once again flexibly swung around.

Grasping the knife single-handedly, his other hand viciously grabbed the neck of the Reaper in front. Amidst the ’sizzle’ of friction, the sawtooth blade tip pierced through the abdomen, then exited the opponent’s back, seemingly hitting something along the way—it was the opponent’s spine.

One hand inserted the blade, the other pulled it out, slitting the opponent’s belly open simultaneously.

Instantly, green pus, bizarre organs, and undigested human flesh spewed out together.

[You dealt 235 points of damage to the D-Level Reaper]

[You have killed a developing Reaper, Experience Value +480]

The Reaper behind, witnessing such a vicious opponent and its almost bisected kin, hesitated momentarily with its scythe, a feeling named ’fear’ surfaced for the first time.

Gao Gong lunged forward once more.

Blade light clashed with scythe, the speed so fast it was hard for the naked eye to catch.

If in the several blueprints Gao Gong had drawn before, any were most useful, it wouldn’t be the ferocious Microcomputer Tiger or the explosive Mechanical Knife Sheath, but rather the most inconspicuous Tactile Nerve Flow Enhancer.

This small hand nerve modification brought more variations to Gao Gong’s close combat abilities, blending the hand and knife into one to some extent.

This is where a Prosthetic Body surpasses a weapon; it is not a tool, but part of the person.

After exchanging over a dozen blows, infrared vision finally locked onto the opponent’s energy source, taking a cut to the arm. Gao Gong charged directly into the opponent’s embrace with the blade, embedding the sawtooth blade tip into a spot beneath the throat, at the center of the shoulder blades.

That was the Reaper’s energy source.

[You dealt a ’One-Hit Kill’ to the target]

[You have killed a developing Reaper, Experience Value +480]

Though it was one against four, perilous situations abounded, but the martial engagement was not long-lasting, from start to finish, just over ten seconds.

The aftermath, however, was one injured and four dead. Gao Gong lost a third of his Blood Volume, and four D-Level Reapers ended up with their bodies separated.

This combat record would be considered an impressive achievement even among the strongest Mechanical Hunters.

Yet the battle wasn’t over. Gao Gong sheathed his blade, picked up his Sniper Rifle, and tucked into the bushes, moments later, mist after mist rose from various spots.

The remaining Reapers didn’t dare to split into separate operations anymore, teaming up in pairs cautiously probing into the mist.

Soon, they found what they sought, a booby trap tied with steel wires, three Hand Grenade Fruits connected together.

’Boom!!’

Gao Gong obliterated six out of thirteen Reapers in an instant and injured two more, leaving no forces for the remaining Reapers to pursue him.

This infuriated the leading Reaper Leader even more, compared to the relatively human-like developing Reaper, it had fully transcended human form.

Standing nearly three meters tall, with its arched thick back, and not just one pair of scythes, but two, and on its back, three pairs of oversized cicada wings vibrated the air, indicating its ability to fly, at least glide at high altitude for short periods.

Its attributes were more than double those of developing Reapers.

Effect 2: Has an intimidating effect on non-humans, Perception -5, adds Fear status

This Reaper Leader is even stronger than the one the original owner dealt with before, it has a boss template!

And there are a total of two Reapers with a leader template!

Not to mention, if even one Reaper Leader gets into the fray, the people of the Cable Tribe definitely wouldn’t be alive now.

The reason they are still alive, and even became more stable in defense after Gao Gong drew some fire, is because of the mysterious Professor Han.

Every time this pair of male and female Reapers is about to attack, they inexplicably change direction.

The Reaper Leader also found it strange, clearly the prey was right in front, but when it pounced, they would suddenly disappear.

It’s that old prey’s gaze that’s the problem!

A C-class monster’s intelligence is not much worse than an average human’s, and when its offspring’s pheromones disappeared one after another, it finally became furious.

As it went berserk, countless light spots scattered from beneath its three pairs of cicada wings, each spot turning into a wave of scorching wind upon landing, a fierce radiation storm started brewing around it.

”Professor!”

Blood suddenly flowed from Professor Han’s ears, mouth, and nose, his already pale face turning even paler, his body swaying.

The girl in the animal hide’s face changed drastically, if the professor fell, they would all die here.

”Calm down, calm down,” Professor Han’s voice still had a reassuring aura.

”This might be an opportunity.”

”What opportunity?”

”This is them wasting their power, nice shot!”

Meanwhile, on another highland, Gao Gong grinned, his right eyelid blinking rapidly, switching to sniper mode.

The gunfire echoed consecutively, for him, the Reaper Leader that had unleashed its power was just a target.

[You dealt 23 damage to the Reaper Leader]

[You dealt 15 damage to the Reaper Leader]

[You dealt 35 damage to the Reaper Leader]

[You dealt 27 damage to the Reaper Leader]

...

The attack power of the sniper rifle Nekomata was as high as 78 points, with added kinetic damage, yet when the rifle’s bullets hit the opponent, they were reduced to only half or a third of their power.

Nevertheless, in less than half a minute, Gao Gong had fired more than sixty bullets, depleting nearly half of the opponent’s blood volume.

The Reaper Leader’s ultimate move also had a strong effect, for example, many people of the Cable Tribe fell to the ground with eyes rolled back and foaming at the mouth, like Huang Yuanli earlier, and the uncontrolled Metal Sparrow and several other small Mechanical Bio-Beasts began to flee under the leader-level pressure.

’It would be great to have something powerful at this moment.’

Gao Gong started to feel anxious, if he had his customized Beast Hunting Device, he could directly strike at the soul.

If not, an RPG would do.

His gaze fell on another female beast, which, though still flying like a headless fly, was flying faster and getting closer to the Cable Tribe’s direction.

This indicated that it was starting to break free from Professor Han’s control.

Professor Han couldn’t control it, and he could only run.

Two leader template C-class Reapers, it’s not that they can’t be fought, it’s just that he really can’t win.

Gao Gong was not someone who lacked decisiveness, it’s either retreat, or take one down while there’s still a chance!

Almost immediately, he made up his mind.

The micro motors in both knee joints roared again.

Gao Gong rushed into the radiation storm at full speed.

[You are swept by radiation wind, all attributes -20%, duration: three days]

[You enter ’skin damage’ status]

[You enter ’mild mutation’ status]

[You enter ’stomach cramp’ status]

Gao Gong sharply swung the Steel Rope Claw, catching onto a branch of a large tree, climbing up in a few quick moves.

The deformity has its benefits, as the thick branches formed almost a platform.

Gao Gong gripped the knife handle tightly, his five fingers’ veins bulging, even small electric currents visible in his palm, with a faint smell of protein paste wafting out.

The Tactile Nerve Flow Enhancer also reached a state of overload.

As for the Electromagnetic Exciter, it was needless to say, the entire Mechanical Knife Sheath was trembling madly, if it weren’t for Gao Gong’s strength being 16 points, equivalent to the grip of three adult men, the blade would shoot out before being drawn.

Finally, through jumping between trees, Gao Gong finally arrived at the Reaper Leader’s back, at a height equivalent to nearly three floors.

His left eye was blown closed by the wind, while his right eye fixedly stared at the source of radiation in mid-air.

His thigh muscles tensed to the extreme, as he jumped, he violently released the Knife Sheath, a strong force following the blade erupted, carrying his body across three meters.

The crimson blade light once again broke through the sound barrier, slashing across the opponent’s thigh-thick neck, the red line forming a line with the blade light.

The next moment, a waterfall of blood gushed out.

[You dealt 1549 damage to the Reaper Leader]
