Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 7: Chapter 2: Mr. G

Before the release of ”Cyber Realm”, this epoch-making holographic online game, players were immensely excited, and no matter what type of gamer, there were high expectations for this game.

’Master Cyber’ is here, and the sky will clear! ’Master Cyber’ is here, and Blue Star will be at peace!

As it turns out, ”Cyber Realm”, as an epoch-making masterpiece, indeed did not disappoint players. Its excellent quality, outstanding combat system, diverse civilization systems, and grand worldview immersed countless players, even maintaining an extraordinary level of excitement into the later stages of the game.

How could they not be excited, being turned into tin cans, injected with synthetic dopamine daily, generating bioelectricity; it’s hard not to be excited.

But Gao Gong didn’t end up as a tin can. As an emerging Leader of Level 6 Civilization, he even infiltrated various NPC factions, participating in the final plot against the three great Celestial Calamities.

If it wasn’t for a mysterious crossing over, he’d still be taking the road of subterfuge, secretly guiding like a pathfinder.

Such a cunning fellow must first introduce himself a bit.

Gao Gong, originally named Gao Gongg, an unemployed young man at home, a hardcore otaku, a master-level manga artist, his exceptional human anatomy skills in NSFW scenes surpass most original authors; his nickname among many manga enthusiasts is the Desired Tentacle Monster, Housewife Enthusiast, Hottest Milf Hunter, a highly regarded sp icon in the community.

To seek inspiration and keep up with the times, he resolutely decided to join this game, looking for new directions among the diverse intelligent species.

As the saying goes, the mountain doesn’t have to be high to have spirits if it has a chest, the water doesn’t have to be deep if it’s not human.

Only with universal love can Gao Gong excel!

With such a great dream in mind, Gao Gong, under the game name ’Mr. G’, entered the Cyber Realm as an ordinary manga player.

”Cyber Realm” has tens of thousands of species, professions, belonging to different civilization technology trees, scattered like stars across the universe’s corners, according to different civilization types, divided into four categories.

Mechanical Realm, Carbon-Based Sequence, Energy Realm, Information Ocean

These are the four civilization systems of Mechanical System, Carbon-Based System, Energy System, Information System.

And Mechanical Split Star belongs to a Mechanical Civilization’s sphere of influence, inhabited by Carbon-Based Humans on a post-apocalyptic-style planet, with foundational professions in mechanical, carbon-based, and information systems.

Among them, Mechanical Transformer, Prosthetic Body Security, Body Knight belong to the Mechanical System.

Bionic Man (basic template), Reproductive Soldier, Beastification Soldier, belong to the Carbon-Based System.

Neural Encoder belongs to the Information System.

With noble ideals, Gao Gong, naturally unlike ordinary players, did not choose the always godly Mechanical System or the consistently powered Carbon-Based System but rather the relatively niche Neural Encoder, a cyberpunk version of a hacker.

What followed were a series of large and small plot events, completing the main quest and obtaining a ticket to an extraterrestrial colony in the split second before Mechanical Split Star was consumed by a Star-Destroying Weapon, then completed a Tier 2 transformation, completely abandoning the physical body to self-program and transformed into a central AI.

If the first stage’s experiences vaguely resemble those of other players, the subsequent paths of Gao Gong went completely off the rails.

While others upgraded and fought monsters, he was customizing avatars.

While others traversed the stars, he developed the ’Rich Lady’s Maintenance’ Type I Virtual Companion.

While others ascended mechanically, he studied custom-made Beautiful Girl figures.

While others engaged in various interstellar wars, Starships flew alongside missiles, he developed a large-scale cross-species virtual romance platform.

While others were on the wanted list of advanced civilizations, he successfully broke the reproductive isolation between ’Carbon-Based Species’ and ’Informational Organisms’, enabling end-to-end services for virtual girlfriends, electronic wives, and data offspring. (2D wives can also have children)

While others became interstellar catastrophes, he already created a Fantasy Land for countless interstellar otakus.

When players, as ’Special Races’, were classified as interstellar disasters, wanted across the universe, he was already a guest at the Six Great Nine-level Civilizations.

In the game’s later stages, he was revered by believers on various planets as—

Master of Handicrafts, Manga Wholesaler, Advanced Haptic Vendor, Reproductive System Transformer, Heart’s Guide, Lifelong Ally of the Universe’s LSP, Virtual Experience Sovereign.

Equally recognized by the Civilization Council as the Leader of Level 6 Virtual Civilization, the Master of Super Connection in the Super Experience Realm—Mr. G!

But even as strong as he is, with only ten drops of blood left, he can’t go on a seed burst!

His limbs grew colder, consciousness increasingly blurred, the sound of tires rolling seemingly getting further away.

Gao Gong was racking his brains for a way out!

Beeping——

[Task: Life-taking Sprint]

Difficulty: Normal

Task Brief: As an outstanding Mechanical Hunter, you encountered a sudden battle, ending with your death. Was it really an accident? The urgent matter now is how to save your skin.

Task Objective: Return alive to the Black Rose Petrol Bar or find Black Rose

Task Reward: Experience +1500 A dog’s life

The game interface flashed with a task, Gao Gong glanced at it, couldn’t help but twitch his lip.

A dog’s life, this new system is quite cheeky.

However, this task trigger doesn’t help Gao Gong’s current state in the slightest.

Even with an added 1500 experience, it’s still impossible for the main profession ’Mechanical Transformer’ to level up.

Wait a minute!

Gao Gong’s gaze suddenly fixed on one attribute bar.

Sub-Profession: Factory Worker lv4 (You were once a child laborer in a body transformation factory, ambition drove you to another path)

In ”Cyber Realm”, players have two professional systems: main profession and sub-profession, wherein the main profession can only be one, while theoretically, sub-professions can be countless; in Planet Civilization, the main profession’s level cap is level 30, and sub-professions are level 20.

But don’t underestimate sub-professions or view them simply as life skills in typical games.

The main profession transforms every ten levels, not only does the professional level have to reach max, but the body must also undergo deep transformation, and as different transformation directions occur, the profession’s development path also differs.

If the transformation is successful, potential skyrockets, transformation failure, worse than dogs.

The direction of the main profession’s transformation is determined by the sub-profession.

Unlike the main profession, which undergoes a transformation at Level 10, the sub-profession transforms at Level 5. Gao Gong’s sub-profession as a Factory Worker has just reached the threshold for transformation.

An NPC without a system template can only close their eyes and await death, while an NPC with a system template can showcase their prowess!

With a single thought, Gao Gong allocated all the experience accumulated by the original owner (excluding mission rewards) into the sub-profession.

[Factory Worker upgraded to lv5, repair success rate +3%]

[Factory Worker upgraded to No. 4 Factory Junior Worker, Power +1, Endurance +1, and gained 1 attribute point]

[’Basic Maintenance’ upgraded to ’Basic Mechanical Repair’]

Basic Mechanical Repair: Able to perform certain adjustments and upgrades to low-level machinery, and replace components.

[You activated knowledge on [Industrial Materials Science]]

[You activated knowledge on [Mechanical Transformation]]

During the job transition, a massive amount of mechanical knowledge and prosthetic body transformation imagery flooded into his mind like a sudden enlightenment.

The five main attributes—Power, Agility, Endurance, Intelligence, and Perception—each increase Life by 5 points per point, but they focus on different aspects.

Power reflects muscle explosiveness and density.

Agility focuses on aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.

Endurance reflects the strength of the respiratory system. Intelligence is the information processing efficiency of brain organs.

And Perception is the length and breadth of the neural system.

Gao Gong, without hesitation, allocated the only attribute point to Perception.

Instantly, his once-unclear consciousness became incredibly clear, while a warm current surged through his body from all directions.

Negative states such as nausea, excruciating pain, fatigue, and itching rushed towards him. Gao Gong gritted his teeth hard, his jaws tensed, suppressing the scream that was about to escape his lips.

But at the same time, sensory information such as sound, visual signals, taste, temperature, and vibration poured in like a flood breaking loose.

Life Value: 25/115 (Serious Physical Injury) (Severe Mechanical Body)

The physical body returned from ’near-death’ to ’serious injury’ status.

Gao Gong still ’played dead,’ hanging his head and fixed to the backrest of the chair, but there was a cold light in the corners of his eyes.

Meanwhile, his hand quietly reached for the military knife, slowly, inch by inch, drawing the knife out.

Then—inserted again!

[You lost 2 Life points]

[You lost 3 Life points]

[You lost 1 Life point]

[You lost 3 Life points]

[You entered a bleeding state, Power -2, all received damage increased by 10%]

[You are performing mechanical repair on yourself]

The blade tip, from another angle, once again entered the wound, with crimson flesh turning outward like two intersecting smiles.

Gao Gong, drenched in sweat, arduously and carefully manipulated the knife handle, as if stirring something.

He was performing a temporary version of mechanical repair on himself.

The mortal body cannot burst, but the motor can go into overdrive.

’Buzz’ ’Buzz’

The sound of the micro motor inside began to accelerate.

Trucks transporting minerals were driven away one after another. Injured bodies lying on the ground were killed continuously, while a few bodies were noticed and dragged away by soldiers.

The fate of these individuals was to be turned into vegetative states, submerged in low-grade nutrient solutions. Once an artificial soldier’s body suffered irreparable injury, it would be extracted, the head severed for electronic brain transplantation surgery.

The number of remaining artificial soldiers was dwindling.

Only four were left, one by the vehicle, one to the west, and two to the north. The one by the vehicle leaned against the doorway, smoking, the two to the north stood in elevated positions watching with guns, and the one to the west was speaking into a walkie-talkie.

”Number 201, not leaving yet?” the northern artificial soldier called out.

”Let me finish this cigarette. I found a nice implant body.”

”Oh? Really, man or woman.”

”Does it matter?”

”True.”

”Hope the next time I see you, you’ll become a beautiful woman.”

The laughter was rough and dry, like metal friction, causing goosebumps.

The cigarette butt dropped to the ground, and the half-destroyed car door was yanked open.

An adult man’s five main attributes were all 5, whereas an artificial soldier’s attributes were 9. Without modification, the cloned body of an artificial soldier already reached the human’s normal limit.

However—

”Where is he?”
