One-Eyed Monster

Igor and Kadi exchanged glances; Coban Kangen’s explanation seemed quite reasonable.

But they still felt a bit uncertain.

This uncertainty seemed to stem from within themselves; at this moment, they realized they knew very little about the world.

Igor and Kadi looked at Coban Kangen; they had no arguments to counter him now.

Coban Kangen’s example of freedom was so realistic, happening right in front of them, its impact so strong that it plunged Igor and Kadi into endless imagination.

Coban Kangen hadn’t expected to persuade Igor and Kadi so easily; he initially thought he would have to face a prolonged battle.

Well, that worked out; these two youngsters aren’t tangled up anymore...

In fact, Igor and Kadi were still tangled, but they stopped pestering Coban Kangen. They were now wrestling with their own thoughts.

They never expected to be in such a predicament, but now none of this mattered because they realized the entire question wasn’t formed by this place itself, but by their own lack of understanding.

Everything would become incredibly complicated due to their own shortcomings. Igor and Kadi simply realized this simple truth a bit late.

Igor scratched his head; he now felt his earlier self was really foolish for being deceived by appearances.

”Alas, we’re too young, so easily tricked by appearances.”

Igor’s lament made Kadi nod repeatedly; he felt the same.

Coban Kangen didn’t think Igor and Kadi were deceived by appearances; he thought it was due to Igor and Kadi’s unfamiliarity with Xinbal.

This unfamiliarity led to a misunderstanding of Xinbal by Igor and Kadi, thus leading to a misunderstanding of Bayes Avenue, and this misunderstanding perpetuated until it became like this.

But this truth needed Igor and Kadi to realize themselves; no matter how much Coban Kangen explained now, it would only have negative effects, better to stay silent.

After a moment of silence, the three seemed to have agreed not to acknowledge each other.

The silence didn’t last long; the sound of Kadi slapping his forehead interrupted it, pulling everyone back to reality.

”Why are you slapping your head?”

”I’m thinking about a tricky issue.”

”What issue? Tell me.”

At this moment, only Igor dared to continue the conversation; Coban Kangen didn’t dare casually pick up on it, fearing he wouldn’t be able to answer, having just gotten through a tricky situation himself, he couldn’t fall into another pit.

Igor looked at Kadi’s enlightened face with curiosity: ”What tricky issue are you pondering?”

”Well, if you think about it, you’ll know. What was the place we were heading to? Do you remember?” Kadi tried to ask Igor.

”Bayes Avenue No. 52, of course, I remember that,” Igor said, confident about his memory.

”And where are we now?” Kadi continued to ask.

”We’re now at Bayes Avenue No. 28...” Igor fell silent after finishing, realizing there was still quite a long way between No. 28 and No. 52.

The carriage had traveled quite a distance upon entering Bayes Avenue, and now, without the carriage, how far could they travel just relying on their legs?

This truly was a tricky issue!

Igor couldn’t help but furrow his brows: ”Our situation is quite awkward now; without the carriage or a guide, it’s very hard to move around here!”

Kadi naturally agreed with Igor’s sentiment; every word Igor said came from his own heart. He had been contemplating these issues for a long time but couldn’t find a good solution. Now, with Igor thinking alongside him, he felt somewhat relieved.

Coban Kangen remained silent on the side; he didn’t dare say anything for now, knowing that interrupting Igor and Kadi’s thoughts at this moment would only put him in a dilemma. He wasn’t that foolish and didn’t want to return to a situation of despair so quickly.

The smart move now was to wait, to wait for Igor and Kadi to seek his help, even if it was just a glance; it would resolve many of the crises he had.

Coban Kangen’s judgment was clearly correct; Igor and Kadi were helpless at this moment, feeling unfamiliar and puzzled with everything around them in a foreign place. They looked around, seeing nothing familiar except Coban Kangen.

Coban Kangen felt Igor and Kadi’s gaze, a plea for help that seemed to say, ”Quickly conjure up a solution for us!”

Finally, the passive shifted to the active, and Coban Kangen was inwardly thrilled!

But he managed to keep calm and didn’t react immediately.

”Kangen, come up with a plan!” Igor and Kadi couldn’t remain calm anymore, worrying about the upcoming events.

Coban Kangen smiled calmly: ”Now let me show you the free-spirited Bayes Avenue!”

With that, Coban Kangen strode forward with a light gait, as if there were no challenges ahead.

Igor and Kadi watched this scene in stunned amazement; they found it a bit incredible!

Doesn’t Coban Kangen fear someone might stop him ahead, or worry about that long journey...

But regardless, Coban Kangen had already moved forward; they had to keep up, or else the only familiar thing on Bayes Avenue would disappear...

Igor and Kadi quickly caught up with Coban Kangen, watching him confidently knock on a door.

”What is he doing?” Kadi asked Igor in disbelief.

”Not sure, maybe seeking help from strangers?” Igor attempted to guess Coban Kangen’s intention.

It wasn’t long before Coban Kangen knocked open the door and walked straight in.

Igor and Kadi were stunned; this guy had just left them here, clearly messing with them!

No way, they had to go in too!

So Igor and Kadi eagerly ran to the door and started knocking.

The door opened once more, but this time, two skilled Fighters stood there, looking at Igor and Kadi with sharp eyes, mixed with some confusion.

”Who are you?”

This question really stumped Igor and Kadi; how should they answer this?

”We... should count as strangers!” Kadi hesitantly replied.

”Strangers? How... what are you doing here, you’re not welcome!”

With a bang, the door was harshly shut, leaving Kadi and Igor outside, bewildered and speechless, not expecting to be turned away like this.
