Not Being a Trainer This Time

Because according to its observations over the past few months, this World Tree was cultivated by the human in front of it.

Nature has chosen him.

It was the first time Naoki heard a Legendary Pokemon thank him for something like this.

He couldn’t help but take another couple of looks at Z2, is this the Ecological Supervisor?

Its thinking is indeed different from other Pokemon.

”Are you staying here?” Naoki asked.

Just like Groudon and the others, living on the World Tree from now on.

However, Z2 refused.

”No, I still have more important things to do.” It shook its head and said, ”The ecosystem has only been temporarily restored, but as long as there are humans, one day the ecological order will be disrupted again. I must continue to fulfill my duty.”

Naoki: ”... Isn’t that a bit exaggerated?”

According to Z2, wouldn’t humans become the source of all evil in this world?

”Humans are complex and diverse.” Z2 shook its head and said, ”You won’t disrupt the ecological order, but there are always some humans who will destroy the existing order, causing the birth of negative energy cores.”

Hearing this, Naoki was momentarily speechless.

What Zygarde said was right; some people protect the ecosystem while others destroy it.

The most serious among them is the antagonist Lysandre from the Kalos Region.

Lysandre is quite a complex person.

In his youth, he often led Team Flare to aid the poor in the Kalos Region.

But after receiving help, those people took their actions for granted and even demanded more charity from Lysandre.

Because of this, Lysandre’s ideas shifted, and he attempted to use the power of Legendary Pokemon to destroy the current world to create a beautiful utopian world.

However, these are all future matters.

At this time, the Kalos Region’s storyline hasn’t yet occurred.

Z2 did not linger long on the World Tree.

After understanding the source of that Natural Energy and the current state of this land, it left the World Tree and returned to the land.

However, Z2 did not leave the ranch.

Because now the order of the Paldea Region is supervised by it.

Watching beams of green light fly from Z2’s body into the distance, Naoki couldn’t help but ask:

”To you, do these cells function like monitors?”

”Monitors?” Z2, having turned back into a blue core form, looked over puzzled.

”That is, being able to observe situations in other places through them.” Naoki explained.

Z2 nodded: ”That’s right.”

”Then is your main part left in the Kalos Region?” Naoki asked curiously.

This kind of Pokemon Zygarde is different from other Pokemon; it is composed of countless cells and cores assembled together.

And it changes into different forms depending on the number of cells.

The 10% form of Zygarde is like a Doberman, adept in close combat, attacking with sharp teeth.

The 50% form is generally Zygarde’s main body.

It lives deep in the cave, monitoring if there are abnormalities in the Pokemon ecosystem through scattered cells and cores, taking on the guardianship role.

And when all cells and cores gather, Zygarde will transform into its complete 100% form.

This form of Zygarde resembles a Gundam, possessing overwhelming terrifying power, and it fully harnesses this power for its mission of defending the ecosystem, meant for battle.

Hearing Naoki’s words, Z2 nodded: ”That’s right, it was the main body that sent me and the other cells to this place.”

The main body is now deep in a cave, monitoring changes in the ecosystem.

Upon hearing this, Naoki thought to himself indeed.

He recalled the anime plot where Team Flare went to Terminus Cave to capture Zygarde, and he couldn’t help but advise:

”I think you should warn the main body to act cautiously or relocate to another cave. I have a hunch that humans are planning to capture it.”

Z2 was slightly stunned.

”How do you know this?” It asked.

”Because I used Future Sight.”

Z2: ”...”

And at this moment, Naoki stood up: ”Alright, let’s end it here! I need to get busy with my own things. If you wish to stay on the ranch, feel free to stay! Koraidon, it’s time for us to set off!”

”Kaaa-sha!” Koraidon, waiting on the side, immediately responded.

It glanced at Z2, then at Naoki, who was turning to leave, and promptly chased after Naoki.

Leaving only Z2, a lone Pokemon, standing on a rock.

It tried to sense its main body, but the distance was too far, making contact impossible.

*

This time, Naoki brought with him six Pokemon: Koraidon, Cyclizar, Dragonite, Pawmot, Flutter Mane, and Ogerpon.

The distance between Groundblight Shrine and the ranch wasn’t too far.

First, they crossed the vast Casseroya Lake, then climbed over a mountain, which led them to Koubari Path.

Under the guidance of the Rotom Phone’s navigation and the location provided by Raifort, Naoki found the location of Groundblight Shrine in just twenty minutes.

It was situated deep within a small island in a pond, flanked by waterfalls cascading down, with gentle streams forming a river that surrounded the island.

The island’s terrain was complex, with valleys indented and protruding everywhere as far as the eye could see.

The shrine’s location was extremely remote, nestled in a mountain hollow, with steep cliffs on either side, and four massive iron chains securely sealing the entrance to the shrine.

”I didn’t expect Raifort’s coordinates to be so accurate.”

Naoki stepped forward and tugged at the chains, but the thick chains didn’t budge.

Naoki stopped his actions and used the Rotom Phone to take a picture and send it to Raifort.

Raifort quickly replied.

[Raifort: You found the place?! Great, it seems my investigative direction wasn’t wrong!]

[King Wings: So next, we need to find the stakes to pull out, right?]

[Raifort: That’s right! If I’m not mistaken, those stakes are scattered on that mountain, with a total of eight. Once all are pulled out, the seal will automatically be lifted!]

[Raifort: Also, be sure not to use brute force to destroy the seal, or the power of the seal might cause a landslide on that mountain!]

Naoki: ”...”

He looked at the shrine in front of him, emitting a faint green light, thinking how there’s so much ancient black technology in the Pokemon World.

The shrine in front was obviously not a regular shrine. If Naoki remembered correctly, those stakes were also created using special powers.

In the game, once pulled out, the stakes would turn into fragments and disappear, and immediately, the corresponding chains would unlock automatically.

[King Wings: Alright, got it, I’ll go look for the sealing stakes now.]

[Raifort: Good luck! Groundblight Shrine, the Ruinous Pokemon Ting-Lu should be sealed there. According to ancient records, Ting-Lu has the ability to cause earthquakes, so be careful! It’s been sealed for so many years, its temper is sure to be awful.]

Putting away the phone, Naoki mounted Koraidon’s back and said to it: ”Let’s fly around this mountain first for a look!”

The mountain looked so large, finding those eight small stakes wouldn’t be easy.

”Kaaa-sha!”

Koraidon responded and then spread its wings, flying around the mountain.

Naoki’s gaze was carefully observing the mountain below.

Below the mountain was Koubari Path, and the small road leading to the top was flanked by a lush pine forest, home to many wild Pokemon.

Deerling, Sawsbuck, Forretress, Heracross...

To the north was the Northern Paldea Sea, and to the south was Casseroya Lake, with no nearby towns, making it seem sparsely populated.

At this moment, Koraidon beneath him suddenly let out a warning growl.

”Kaaa-sha!”

Naoki focused and spotted a faintly glowing blue stake beside a large rock.

He patted Koraidon’s shoulder, and Koraidon understandingly landed beside it.

Naoki curiously observed the stake, took out his Rotom Phone to snap a photo, and then reached out to pull it out forcefully.

The next second, the stake disintegrated into fragments and vanished.

”Seven more to go.”

But relying solely on his own strength, who knows when he’d find them all.

So, Naoki decisively took out three Poke Balls.

With three flashes of white light, the figures of Pawmot, Dragonite, and Flutter Mane appeared in front of him.

Naoki showed them the photo he just took:

”Everyone, help me look for this thing nearby!”

The Pokemon began to act one after another.
