Not Being a Trainer This Time

Zapdos nodded its head, its eyes flashing with light.

It’s decided! It would go back and steal the feathers from those two Pokemon!

Naoki had no idea of Zapdos’ thoughts.

After resting, the Heroic Expedition Team and Jirachi went excitedly to the World Tree to see their future home.

After several months, the World Tree had undergone tremendous changes.

The bustling Explorer Team Guild, Tatsugiri’s restaurant, Spinda’s café, Vileplume’s item shop, the orchard diligently cared for by Treecko and Arboliva...

Looking at these scenes, the Pokemon of the Heroic Expedition Team had eyes filled with light,

”This is exactly the Explorer Team Guild of its dreams!”

”Miu...”

Mew gazed blankly at the scene in front of it until Mewtwo sensed its presence and teleported over, bringing Mew back to its senses.

”Mew.” Mewtwo nodded calmly towards Mew.

”Miu!” Mew cheerfully greeted Mewtwo.

Though they were traveling outside, they often used the Rotom Phone to chat with Mewtwo.

Under Mewtwo’s lead, the Pokemon began to tour the current World Tree. Along the way, Mewtwo occasionally introduced everything to them.

Guild headquarters, farmland, mill, orchard, practice area, item shop, Pokemon Hospital...

After visiting every place.

The group of Pokemon went to the tavern run by Meowth and Pikachu to drink beverages.

Teddiursa and Mew surveyed the surroundings, feeling as though something was missing here.

”Hmm...”

After Teddiursa mentioned it, Mew also realized that it wasn’t just it having this thought.

So the question arises, what exactly is missing?

”Hmm! It’s Naoki!”

Without Naoki, it doesn’t feel like home here...

If only Naoki could come to the World Tree and live with them.

Mew and Teddiursa exchanged a look.

Then they used the Rotom Phone to call Naoki.

Soon, the call connected, and Naoki’s voice came from the other end.

”Hello? What’s up? Did something happen at the World Tree?”

”Hmm hmm!” Teddiursa shook its head repeatedly, indicating nothing happened, and then asked expectantly, ”Hmm hmm?” (Will Naoki come to the World Tree to live with everyone?)

Naoki didn’t expect Teddiursa to ask this question.

He thought for a moment and then replied, ”Of course I will, but not now.”

”Miu?” (Then when will it be?) Mew asked.

Naoki: ”Probably several decades from now!”

By then, they would all have grown old, and familiar people in the world would gradually pass away.

At that time, if he had children, he would pass the ranch to them, and then, together with Lono, would bring Koraidon and Bellibolt to live at the World Tree.

Even if the body ages, it doesn’t matter; they can exist forever in the form of spirits.

In that sense, wouldn’t they be considered alternative ”Ghost-type Pokemon”?

As long as they don’t participate in the cycle in the Spirit Realm, they can live forever at the World Tree.

This is Naoki’s current plan for the future.

In doing so, he wouldn’t have to worry about the issue of time limits and could always be by Koraidon’s side.

Meanwhile, in Levincia City.

Inside a mansion.

Lono’s parents curiously looked at their daughter across from them.

”Our daughter even changed her hairstyle; it seems like she’s really grown up this time!” said the man holding a newspaper, sighing.

However, the woman noticed something: ”Are you in love?”

”Huh?!” The man beside her was surprised.

Lono laughed foolishly: ”He’s a really good person!”

The woman squinted her eyes: ”Is it that person from last time?”

Lono didn’t hide it from her parents and nodded in acknowledgment.

Seeing this, the couple didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Thinking about how this was her daughter’s first love, the woman couldn’t help but say:

”I don’t have much experience to share, but I do want to say something—a word from a famous person once said.”

Lono looked at her mother.

Woman: ”Love is a two-way street, requiring both sides to move towards each other for a lasting relationship. If one person only wants to stay in place while expecting the other to come to them, it’s destined that they aren’t a good match.”

Lono was slightly stunned: ”What do you mean?”

Woman: ”It means that feelings are mutual. If you want a long-lasting relationship, your lives need to gradually intertwine, and sometimes you have to make changes for each other.”

Lono: ”...It doesn’t seem that exaggerated, does it?”

At that moment, her Rotom Phone suddenly rang.

Upon opening it, she saw that Naoki had sent her a message.

[Naoki: Quickly bring your Pokemon to the ranch; I have a gift for you!]

A gift?

Lono’s eyes lit up, and she immediately ran back to her room to chat over the phone.

In the living room, her parents looked at their daughter’s back, full of helplessness.

At this moment, the man suddenly remembered something.

The daughter had once asked them to buy something from a small shop.

He took out his phone to search, and sure enough, he saw [Naoki Ranch] written.

”That shop should be opened by that guy, right?” the man said, glaring.

”...What do you want to do?”

”Of course, I want to see what kind of person he is. It’s our daughter’s first love, and it wouldn’t be good if she was cheated by a bad person,” the man said confidently.

He decided to visit the ranch pretending to be a passerby.

The woman looked at her husband helplessly: ”How do you plan on understanding him?”

The man replied naturally: ”By using the Trainer’s method!”

He would observe the opponent’s character and personality through Pokemon battles.

Sometimes, Pokemon battles are indeed the best way to see a person’s true nature.

Although the opponent is now a rancher, seeing Lono’s attitude suggests that he must have also been a Trainer once.

If that person doesn’t even have the courage to battle him, it proves he’s a coward!

If he wants his approval, he must defeat him head-on!

Recalling his journey challenging gyms to collect badges, his Pokemon partners had already reached Gym Leader level in strength.

Now, he presumed his skills were still robust.

Next, let that guy witness the power of his Gym Leader level skills!
