Chapter 248: Demon slayer

The next day,

”Brother, you are such a genius. You can remember everything I teach you instantly. With this, we can finish your lesson in 10 days.” Erina said cheerfully.

”But we don’t have 10 days, we will have to admit tomorrow. I saw a poster out there saying the admission will be tomorrow.” Ethan replied softly.

”Oh, no. What should we do now?”

”Don’t worry. Even after admission, we can still study together.”

Anna heard this from outside. She didn’t know that the admission would be tomorrow.

”Okay, I need to keep my calm.”

This was the first time her daughter was going to meet with normal, non-cultivator people, except Ethan, but he was probably a chosen one. So that didn’t count.

Anna went to find Albert, who was working in the field.

He had plowed 100 acres of land by himself, with no use of machinery.

Anna went to him and told him that tomorrow they would have to go to the school to get Erina and Ethan admitted.

Ethan stood up and asked, ”Erina, let’s go outside to see around.”

Erina instantly started jumping. She was a child who was always kept in safety so that no one could harm her. That was the reason Erina couldn’t meet anyone else.

Now she felt Ethan was her only best friend and she could go outside with him to see around.

Ethan and Erina went out.

They didn’t tell their parents.

The village was not very large. Only some villagers remained.

There was a small jungle near the village, and a river was also present.

Ethan took Erina to the bank of the river. They were watching the beautiful scenery.

But then they saw a young boy playing near the river. He had his parents behind him.

There were 4 people in that family. It seemed they came here for a picnic. But Ethan could clearly see through their disguise.

They were werewolves in human form.

”This village is used by supernaturals for hiding or what? Then isn’t it a hot spot for them to find us? Or is this just a coincidence?”

Ethan wrapped the village with his mental domain. But there weren’t other supernaturals present here.

So it was probably a coincidence.

That family also had a young girl at Erina’s age.

They saw Ethan and Erina and called them.

”Brother, let’s go. Let’s see what they want to tell us.”

”Sure.”

Erina spoke first, ”Hello.”

The older woman smiled, ”Hello child. What’s your name?”

Erina told her name.

From this conversation, Ethan learned they were from the city, here for a vacation.

They were talking about something, but then someone else appeared there.

He had a sword on his waist, a katana to be precise, and was wearing a yukata.

The man’s eyes were cold.

The moment that family saw the man, their eyes changed into something sinister.

They tried to catch Erina to take her as hostage, but Ethan didn’t allow that. They missed slightly, and Ethan took her into his embrace.

”Earth Breathing: 3rd Form - Landslide.”

Boom!

The man shot toward that family like a cannonball and the elder man of that family turned into a grey werewolf. He also struck at the man!

Those two started a powerful battle, whereas the other three were trying to help their father and husband.

Ethan felt amused.

”Demon Slayer? So there are other forms of power. Probably magic, god pantheons of different mythology also exist here. Damn! An exciting time is ahead of me. I can feel them.”

Ethan and Erina ran away from the battlefield. Not because of fear of them, but because of fear of Anna. If she found out that they sneaked out and were exposed to danger, no one could save poor Ethan and his sister.

Ethan looked at Erina who still had that lingering fear.

”Brother, how did you do that?”

Ethan placed his finger on her lips.

”This is our secret. Okay? Don’t tell mother.”

”Okay.” She replied happily.

Ethan looked at the battle one last time. The Demon Slayer was a very high-ranking one. He had already cut off that werewolf and was now battling the mother werewolf, whereas the two children were running away.

Then he left with Erina.

After they went home, Anna was looking at them with her fierce eyes.

”Where have you gone without permission?”

Ethan replied, ”We are sorry mother. We went to see the beautiful scenery.”

Anna’s face softened a bit.

”Don’t do this. Okay? Our enemies are very powerful and cunning.”

Both of them said sorry and went to their room. But Ethan was thinking that this planet had more than cultivators. There were other forms of power systems, and not only that, they should be very developed.

On the other hand, in the field, Albert asked, ”Father, what happened there? Can you feel it? I think a Demon Slayer is slaying a demon. We should not interfere in their matter, just be sure that children don’t come out of home.”

After killing both father and mother werewolves, Ryo didn’t go after those children werewolves. But he remembered something. When he just arrived, there was a young man and a little girl also there, and that werewolf tried to catch the little girl for a hostage, but that young man saved the girl somehow.

If he could find that young man and include him in the Demon Slayer Association, he might become a powerful Demon Slayer one day. It was the instinct of a Hashira.

Yes, he was the Earth Hashira of Japan.

He started walking toward the direction he saw those two run away.

Ethan was watching the movements of the Demon Slayer.

That man was now walking toward their direction.

He felt amused just thinking that the old man out there would face off against that Demon Slayer and the situation which might occur.

As the Demon Slayer was also at a similar level to his grandfather.

Soon Ryo walked into the area of the New Hunt family.

And as soon as he entered there, he saw two people working in a field.

Albert was looking at him and asked his father, ”Father, why has this man come here? Does he know something?”

Earl shook his head.

”I don’t think so. Let’s see what he wants.”

Ryo went to them and asked, ”Friends, I am Ryo, a passerby. Earlier I met a wonderful young man and a pretty young lady at the bank of the river, and they helped me there. I wanted to thank them personally, but I couldn’t find them after finishing my job.

Have you perhaps seen such a pair anywhere near?”

Earl thought, ”Ethan and Erina were present in the battle? How did they escape? And why would he come here? He should be a Hashira. Someone at the very pinnacle of the Demon Slayer Association, someone like me. He shouldn’t waste his time on normal people like Ethan and Erina.

Something must have happened there. They helped him somehow.”

But he didn’t want Ethan or Erina to meet with this man now.

So he denied, ”Sorry friend, me and my sons were working all day and didn’t see such people. And you are in private property now. I hope you understand.”

Ryo narrowed his eyes, but then smiled, ”Oh, I am sorry for infiltrating. I’ll take my leave then. Have a nice day.”

Ryo left the area, but after going a little, he stopped and started thinking, ”This old man is lying. Why? Does he know who I am? No, that’s not possible. He is just an ordinary old man. Then he must have heard the commotion there somehow and is afraid to disclose the information.

I am sure the young man lives on this property.

I’ll just wait.”

Then he vanished into the jungle.

Ethan in his room sighed. He was expecting some more drama, but it didn’t occur.

That Demon Slayer wanted to recruit him.

Ethan was also very interested in this new type of power. The breathing power, which could make even a normal person super powerful like a cultivator which required a martial soul to start.

”Okay, let’s wait and see what happens.”

He went to his bed and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, in the Family of Holmes, there was a meeting.

”More than one hundred cultivators died. And they died at the same time. Do you think that old man still has this much power?”

”I don’t think so. Probably he had allies with him. Otherwise, he couldn’t have killed all of us that day.”

The hall was silent, as there were 34 Grandmasters who died that night. Though those Grandmasters were rogue and didn’t belong to any powerful lineage, they were still Grandmasters.

But they were killed like chickens.

”Raise the threat level. Sherlock is in critical condition now. The soul merging process is taking more time than needed.”

”We are talking about the merge of an ultimate soul, of course it would take time, hahaha.”

The Holmes family was the enemy Ethan was looking for.
