Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 136: Chapter 120: Emperor Kai

The audience outside is extremely attentive to Lin Feng’s team’s dynamics.

Seeing the two teams locked in a tense standoff, they start shouting.

”Fight! What are you doing, hesitating like girls!”

”Emperor Kai, I want to see the Golden Lion King!”

”Go Emperor Kai!”

Many in the audience can’t help but stand up and shout loudly.

A lot of them came specifically to see Lin Feng and Yun Kai.

Although Lin Feng’s true strength hasn’t been fully revealed, his agile skills and combat instincts are already impressive enough to astonish people. No wonder he’s praised by the Glory Alliance as a combat genius, truly the top talent among the freshmen.

Under Lin Feng’s vigilance and protection, Yun Kai hasn’t had the chance to make a move, leaving the audience eager to see his performance.

In terms of attention and popularity, Yun Kai is undoubtedly number one.

Standing at an imposing height of 1.93 meters with a muscular physique, combined with the unique appearance granted by ancestral demonization, Yun Kai’s first impression is one of sheer dominance.

Two days ago, in battle, Yun Kai possessing a demon spirit looked like the Golden War God, perfectly embodying this aura of dominance.

Some people online who watched the video gave Yun Kai the nickname ’Emperor Kai’.

Everyone is eagerly anticipating the dazzling performance of ’Emperor Kai’.

However, they’re slightly disappointed as the two teams dispersed peacefully after a standoff, which was expected yet a bit regrettable.

At this moment, twenty minutes have passed in the throne challenge, with over two-thirds out of the 1,500 having been eliminated; there are fewer than 500 people remaining, and it’s still early for a desperate fight.

Many with the real strength to vie for a seat are conserving their energy, protected by their team members, ready for the eventual struggle for positions.

Due to the elimination of two-thirds, the chaotic scene filled with various talent skills and mayhem has begun to calm down.

”From the performances earlier, today’s freshmen quality is indeed higher than last year’s, but there are still many fools.”

”Indeed, some freshmen are too slow-witted, clearly capable with advantageous demon spirit talent skills, yet eliminated early; such fools in the Otherworld likely wouldn’t survive a few days, foolishly wasting resources.”

”Teacher Chen, you don’t have to exaggerate! Freshmen, lacking combat experience is normal, but Lin Feng really surprised me, aside from his strength; he feels even more seasoned than the seniors.”

”Being top of the college entrance exam isn’t a trivial role; a billion annual scholarship isn’t given for nothing.”

”Teaching these freshmen a lesson is good too, making them understand the importance of teamwork, and more importantly, realizing that talent isn’t everything; a high-level demon spirit doesn’t necessarily place one above peers.”

On the platform, the instructors watch the battle while conversing with each other.

To the instructors, exceptional talent is certainly advantageous, but sometimes, a good mind proves more critical.

The rule of the throne challenge is simply no rules.

Winner becomes the king, loser becomes the captive.

If you can win, if you can secure a seat, fairness doesn’t matter, nor does morality; any means can be employed.

Sneak attacks, foul play, taking advantage of others’ peril are all tactical options.

Exactly because of this, having strength doesn’t always mean reaching the end.

Some very strong teams without combat experience also end up eliminated. Conversely, those moderately strong but shrewd go further.

After the melee ends, the remaining individuals act more rationally; though stronger than opponents, without an absolute advantage, they avoid excessive entanglement, lest they fall victim to sneak attacks and foul play, aiming primarily to preserve combat power.

”Body Cultivator Ninth Rank, refined Seventh Grade Profound Fire Leopard, can I join?”

”I am a First Grade Martial Artist, refined Sixth Grade Black Scale Beast.”

Many, while avoiding battle, shuttle quickly through the field, loudly introducing their strength, seeking to join a team.

With the melee concluded, unable to fish in troubled waters, lone wolves and teams with fewer members can only suffer beatings, getting pushed out of the barrier step by step by mighty teams.

”I’ll keep watch, you take this time to rest.”

Lin Feng leads his team in evading another ambush, starting to replenish their energy.

Though they haven’t been injured, continuous fleeing has caused a drain on their stamina.

He feels fine though; other than mental fatigue, his body is awash with spiritual power due to the Nightmare, greatly exceeding others in stamina.

And Yun Kai, thanks to ancestral demonization, his physical qualities far exceed ordinary people, akin to a humanoid demon beast, his exceptional talent leaves him unaffected; whereas Dong Yunan and Lin Xiaofei feel exhausted, sweating profusely and breathing heavily.

When Lin Feng’s team rests, several teams pass by them but none make a move.

Some due to Lin Feng and Yun Kai’s fame, dare not become enemies, others wary of their strength.

Though Lin Feng’s team only has four members, not advantageous when most teams have ten or more, none dare to underestimate them.

No battles break out yet over seats, as no one wants to fight.

As time slowly passes, the battle becomes less intense; with scattered teams gradually driven out of the barrier, there’s now about 300 remaining, distinctly emptier, prompting the barrier to stop moving.

Guided by the barrier, now the freshmen are close to the 100 seats, eyes glimmering at the seats representing resources and privileges, as even the audience’s cheers lessen greatly.

Previously cooperating against enemies, teammates begin to guard against each other, as no one can guarantee if anyone might act due to the allure of the seats.

Bear in mind, once another 200 are eliminated, there’ll practically be seats for everyone.

”The real show is about to start!”

Everyone thinks similarly.

Now is the truly exciting moment of the throne challenge.

For the freshmen, reaching this point signifies talent and strength, but strength is only part; at this crucial juncture, they must clearly assess their strength.

If they overestimate their strength, choosing seats too forward, all efforts might be in vain.

This requires evaluating trade-offs.

Standing before the 100 seats, although filled with desire, the freshmen behave somewhat quietly.

”This seat is mine!”

Soon, amidst a loud roar, figures frantically rush towards the seats, instantly igniting the battle.

Meanwhile, screams and shouts echo like a landslide tsunami, deafening!
