Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 135: Chapter 119: The Great Melee (Part 2)

Just as Lin Feng was constantly dodging, his eyes slightly flickered, as if he had discovered something, but he remained calm. After a while, without any warning, his right leg lashed out like lightning.

With a ”bang!”, a dark shadow appeared out of thin air, its legs in the air, spurting a mouthful of blood, flying backward like a broken sack, falling more than ten meters away onto the ground, lying motionless, directly sent out of the Martial Arts Arena by the mentor.

”Damn, it makes me swear!”

”No wonder he’s a combat prodigy, this dodging is simply godlike!”

”It’s making me feel inferior.”

”More experienced than veterans, dodging and still detecting an assassin?”

”Why is this young man so sensitive?”

Seeing this scene, people couldn’t help but sigh in their hearts.

From the start of the mixed battle, although Lin Feng never made a move, no one dared to underestimate him.

Although he seemed to be constantly running away, in such a large mixed battle, being able to escape is also a skill, especially since Lin Feng was leading three others.

Some teams with strong and numerous members were eliminated, but Lin Feng’s four-person team didn’t even make a move, without consuming spiritual or soul power, their combat power remained undiminished.

It’s hard to imagine how such combat experience could be possessed by a sixteen-year-old child?

No wonder he could enter the Glory Rookie list even before refining a demon spirit.

Because Lin Feng promptly alerted them and attracted most of the attacks, the other three were panicked but unhurt.

”It’s him!”

Dodging the last vine attack, Lin Feng stopped, his cold eyes scanning around, soon capturing the source of the scent.

It was a young man, hidden within a ten-person team.

The young man was about 1.75 meters tall, his appearance unrecognizable due to half of his body being tree-like.

The formerly pale skin was cracked like an old tree, with thick, dark green moss covering his neck. Strangely, his hands had transformed into vines, with tiny purple flowers blooming on them.

The budding purple flowers slightly swayed in the wind, a faint floral scent drifting in the air.

This scent was faint, hard to detect in the chaotic mixed battle. Even if detected, it wouldn’t draw much precaution.

Beside the young man, a boy in a white shirt had his palms on the ground, faint yellow light emanating from his body, his breathing somewhat rapid, seemingly exhausted.

Following Lin Feng’s gaze, Yun Kai and the others also noticed the young man hidden in the crowd, feeling a slight chill in their hearts.

Fortunately, Lin Feng discovered it in time, otherwise, just a few more breaths and it would have been too late even if they noticed.

”It’s a Tree-man”

They were not unfamiliar with the young man’s mutated appearance, the purple flowers, and thorny vines; they had learned about it in middle school spirit plant appraisal.

This was a unique talent ability of Seventh Grade demon spirit, the Tree-man.

This special plant-type demon spirit typically exists in the Otherworld, much rarer than demon beast realm spirits, extremely precious.

Though only a Seventh Grade demon spirit, due to its uniqueness, its price is no less than some Eighth Grade spirits, and its combat power is robust, especially troublesome in initial-stage control type spirits.

”Discovered already, even Jie’s stealth attack failed!”

The boy hiding in the crowd glanced at Lin Feng in surprise, the purple flowers in his hands trembling slightly, his tree-like body reverting to pale white, quickly revealing a slightly delicate-looking boy.

His soul power was almost exhausted, unable to support another attack.

”Such strong perception!”

The delicate boy marveled in his heart.

Hiding in the crowd, he used the Tree-man’s innate skills to trap two small teams, pairing with teammates’ earth spikes and stealth attacks to eliminate dozens but never imagined Lin Feng’s sense of smell was so keen, his reaction so quick.

”Act now?”

Not only the delicate boy, but also the boys and girls surrounding him were surprised, exchanging glances, hesitating.

Since it was a stealth attack, it intended to eliminate Lin Feng’s group, but directly facing them, there was some hesitance, as Lin Feng and Yun Kai were not simple opponents.

Eleven against four, even if confident in victory, they didn’t want to expend too much spiritual and soul power, as eliminating opponents wasn’t the goal; securing a seat was key.

”Isn’t it a bit early to fight now?”

Lin Feng’s eyes slightly narrowed, speaking faintly.

Even though the opponent formed a ten-person team with a numerical advantage, his face showed no sign of fear, his gaze becoming colder. A pitch-black dagger somehow appeared in his hand, bouncing and dancing.

This beautiful display of dagger skills drew much attention, increasing the adversary’s wariness.

The Throne Challenge has no rule restrictions, not even on using weapons.

All around the Martial Arts Arena were various weapons, though few freshmen used them.

Despite being an era of national cultivation, high school primarily focused on Body Refinement, with martial arts teachers teaching Basic Fighting Techniques, with specialized swordsmanship courses in university.

Most freshmen didn’t choose weapons, but a few did.

In this almost-real combat mixed battle, mentors’ constant watch prevents fatal incidents, though broken limbs are unavoidable. Thanks to Advanced therapists, they’ll be reattached, but the sight of bleeding wounds made freshmen shiver, some girls not daring to look.

Using weapons naturally offers an advantage over bare fists.

Though never witnessing Lin Feng use a dagger before, seeing his skilled dagger play, it’s clear it’s not just for show.

Yun Kai and Lin Xiaofei stood silent, flanking Lin Feng, with Dong Yunan, the therapist, positioned among them.

Yun Kai’s eyes showed indomitable determination, his left leg slightly bent backward, assuming a fighting stance. Lin Xiaofei, despite his unease at the opponent’s numerical advantage, showed no fear, his military family background spurring a fighting spirit.

Though outnumbered, under Lin Feng’s lead, the four-person team’s momentum was undeterred.

”Damn, are they finally going to fight?”

Seeing Lin Feng’s group getting into a fighting stance, spectators became excited. Many had eagerly awaited Lin Feng’s team making a real move, growing impatient from the long wait.

”Fight already~”

Besides the spectators, many in the Martial Arts Arena noticed Lin Feng’s group, including Ye Ming.

Ye Ming’s team initially had thirty-seven members, but the recent mixed battle halved it to nineteen. Among them, seven were First Grade Martial Artists, others despite not being martial artists, had refined high-grade or support demon spirits—crucial assists to the team, showcasing Ye Ming and Deng Chen’s significant advantage in the field.

Lin Feng and Yun Kai were the biggest highlights of this Throne Challenge, drawing the majority’s focus, also becoming main rivals. Although wanting to eliminate Lin Feng’s group from the challenge, Ye Ming wouldn’t act himself.

Aiming for the First Throne, if Lin Feng’s group were ousted now, it might foster enmity, and given Lin Feng and Yun Kai’s potential, such rivalry isn’t wise.

Many shared such thoughts as Ye Ming, especially those hoping to join the Glory Team in the future.

”Indeed!”

The small team eventually abandoned their battle intentions, wary of many prying eyes around, unwilling to let others benefit from their struggle, unwilling to be someone else’s stepping stone.
