Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 688: Chapter 688: Encountering Splendid Auspiciousness (22)

In the end, Xiao Ze chose to leave with the doctor.

The look he gave Chuzheng before he left was filled with resentment.

The gazes of the company employees towards Chuzheng all started to change.

In TV dramas, when this kind of situation arises, it’s usually the girl who ends up suffering.

Even if the girl doesn’t suffer, there’s definitely a male lead who comes to the rescue.

Our boss is something else.

Firstly, recording everything in silence as evidence, not calling the police but instead ringing up the mental hospital.

And when the real deal arrives, he forces them straight to the mental hospital.

The victim is like a mute who has tasted a bitter herb, suffering in silence.

All these flashy moves, they’re truly blinding.

Regardless of whether they end up going to the hospital or not, the other party has lost this farce, and the boss wins hands down!

Whether Chuzheng actually cheated or not isn’t important anymore, what’s important is not to offend the boss.

Who knows what means she’ll use to deal with them.

Chuzheng finds that these group of employees seem to have a renewed enthusiasm for work and immediately feels that her mood isn’t so wonderful.

-

Weekend.

Yan Yu knocks on Chuzheng’s door. Chuzheng hasn’t changed clothes yet and looks displeasedly at the man outside, ”Coroner Yan, what is it?”

It’s early in the morning, can’t you let me sleep peacefully?

I finally don’t have to go to the company and watch those people leave work.

Is it easy for me?

Yan Yu’s gaze lingers on her for only a few seconds before quickly shifting away, slightly lowering his head with courtesy, he says softly, ”Miss Jin, didn’t we agree to go out today?”

”...”

Did we?

I don’t remember that.

Yan Yu reminds her, ”I sent Miss Jin a text message.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

With that many junk messages, who would see it!

Chuzheng says, ”Next time just call me.”

Yan Yu’s lips curl slightly, seemingly pleased by some word, his tone softens a bit, ”Alright.”

Yan Yu says, ”Miss Jin, why don’t you change your clothes, I’ll wait outside for you.”

”Come in.”

Chuzheng opens the door, Yan Yu hesitates for a moment, then follows her in.

The room is somewhat messy but not dirty, and there isn’t anything that shouldn’t be seen—just books and documents strewn all over, chaotically but with a certain vibe.

Chuzheng takes out clothes, gives Yan Yu a glance, thinking that she has nothing to do with the Good Person Card just yet, she obediently takes the clothes and goes into the bathroom.

I need to find an opportunity to get the Good Person Card pressed down and kiss him, then ruffle his hair.

My hands are itching to do it.

Sigh.

Life is so difficult.

After changing her clothes, Chuzheng washes her face casually, pats on some water, and considers it done.

”Let’s go.”

Chuzheng heads straight for the door, and Yan Yu gets a strange feeling, as if he and she are living together, leaving the house together.

”Is the place we’re going to eat very far?” I’m going out so early just to touch soft hair, I’ll endure it!

”Not far,” Yan Yu says, ”but I want to take Miss Jin to a place first, if you don’t mind?”

Chuzheng with an indifferent face, ”Would it matter if I said I mind now?”

We’re already out!

Yan Yu smiles, the mist in his eyes clearing up, revealing a bright clarity, oddly gentle.

However, Chuzheng feels a bit cold.

She always has a feeling that her Good Person Card is plotting something sneaky.

She needs to be on her guard!

Strike first, strike hard!

Yan Yu took Chuzheng to a pottery workshop. It was still early, and there were only two students sitting there.

”Mister Yan, when did you get back?”

The shop owner recognized Yan Yu and greeted him with surprise.

”Not long ago,” Yan Yu replied. ”I’ve brought a friend over to take a look.”

The shop owner’s gaze fell on Chuzheng and immediately took on a hint of ambiguity: ”Mister Yan’s friend, huh? That’s quite rare. Welcome, welcome.”

Chuzheng nodded slightly, polite yet distant.

Yan Yu exchanged pleasantries with the owner before taking Chuzheng to a corner spot.

Chuzheng watched him start to roll up his sleeves: ”Are you going to make something yourself?”

Yan Yu smiled, ”Miss Jin hasn’t tried this before, right? Every time I come back, I like to sit here for a while. It’s very interesting.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

Turning clay into art is indeed very interesting.

But for her, it wasn’t interesting at all.

Useless and boring, a waste of time.

Yan Yu asked her, ”Shall I teach you?”

Chuzheng felt some resistance, but she didn’t speak up, so Yan Yu took her silence as agreement and began to teach her the basics.

It looked simple, but it was not so easy to do.

However, Yan Yu worked very quickly. Chuzheng observed him quietly.

Yan Yu’s head was slightly bowed, his handsome face serious, the occasional unsettling air about him nowhere to be seen.

At this moment, he was serene and pure, yet also cut off from the world.

Suddenly, Yan Yu looked up, his deep eyes meeting Chuzheng’s. The next second he slowly curved a smile, ”Miss Jin, why are you watching me?”

When the man smiled, it was as if thousands of pear trees had blossomed, the entire world brightening with his presence.

”You’re not doing this right...” Yan Yu’s gaze fell on her hands before suddenly rising, circling behind her, and teaching her hand-over-hand: ”Like this.”

Chuzheng was almost completely enveloped in his embrace, his warm and broad chest lightly pressing against her back.

The posture was unnecessarily suggestive.

When the man spoke, his warm breath on her neck was ticklish and numbing.

Chuzheng was distracted, letting Yan Yu guide her hands. She turned her head slightly and could see Yan Yu’s profile.

Yan Yu noticed, glanced down slightly, and turned his face a little to the side. The two of them were even closer now, almost able to feel each other’s breath.

All Chuzheng needed to do was lean forward slightly to kiss him.

The two stared at each other in silence, the ambiguous atmosphere growing heavier.

Just as Chuzheng was about to act, Yan Yu suddenly let go of her and returned to his own position. His lashes drooped, hiding the emotions in his eyes, and he said, ”Miss Jin, try it the way I just explained.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

Damn if she knew what he’d just said.

-

Leaving the craft shop, it was almost half-past eleven. Yan Yu took Chuzheng straight to dinner.

The meal was rather pleasant, and after finishing, Yan Yu asked Chuzheng if she’d like to watch a movie.

Chuzheng was indifferent.

The cinema was crowded on the weekend, but it was evident that Yan Yu had booked the tickets early since they could enter right after getting them.

The timing was absolutely perfect.

Tsk.

A pretty clever move.

The movie was a currently popular one, not a horror flick but a romance.

Most of the audience were couples; Chuzheng could even see the couple in front, who, in the midst of watching, started kissing without any restraint.

Chuzheng glanced sideways at the man next to her; the flickering screen light traced the outlines of his face, flickering on and off.

His lips were lightly pursed, his brow slightly furrowed as he watched the screen, as if something didn’t meet his expectations.

A sudden warmth on the back of Yan Yu’s hand caught his attention, and he looked down reflexively.

The girl’s hand was on his, gently grasping. Yan Yu turned and looked at her. She watched him with a cool expression, yet with a hint of... righteousness.

The slight furrow in Yan Yu’s brow smoothed out, and he couldn’t help but laugh softly as he spread his palm open to hold the hand that was a size smaller than his own.

Just as soft and smooth as he had imagined.
