I Punch the Tailed Beast Ball

With the intel of the Kusagakure Anbu brought by Nagasawa and the three captured Kusagakure Ren, the evidence was complete, so Minato quickly sent out Shinobi and issued an ultimatum for Kusagakure.

Either Kusagakure gave Konoha a sum of compensation, then re-signed the peace treaty, or Konoha declared war on Kusagakure.

The Kusagakure’s Kage was already prepared for this. After all, leaking the information was also a part of the plan. After pretending to hesitate for two days, he chose to pay compensation and re-sign the peace treaty with Konoha.

However, although he said that he would pay compensation, the specific number had to be discussed first, and only after both sides agreed would sign the treaty.

Nagasawa was also a member of Konoha’s negotiation team, and he was not an ordinary member. He was the vice-leader of the negotiation team.

It was not easy for him to become the vice leader as Minato almost had a fight with the higher-ups.

When Minato said that he wanted Nagasawa to be the vice-leader of the negotiation team. The Third Hokage asked with some doubts, ”Who is Nagasawa?”

Minato thought his words carefully and said, ”He’s the new Squad Leader, who just joined the new Anbu. He was the one who got the intel about the Kusagakure Anbu this time. He’s very capable and is definitely competent enough to take this position.”

The Third Hokage thought for a moment and asked Anbu to fetch Nagasawa’s information.

Third looked at Nagasawa’s information and frowned, ”Minato, the person you recommended is a little lacking. First of all, he is too young, only 23 years old, and then he is a Chunin. The number and rank of missions he completed were also mediocre. He had only completed five B-level missions. He had never participated in any A-level missions or above. He lacked experience, and I’m afraid that it would be difficult for him to carry out such an important task.”

(That S-level mission was not included yet)

Minato looked into Third Hokage’s eyes and determinedly said, ”Is it a problem if he’s young? I am only 23, but you entrust me to be a Hokage.”

Moreover, Nagasawa’s ability was not something that could be figured out with just the existing data, and he had extraordinary strength.

Sarutobi Hiruzen fiddled with his mustache and seemed to be thinking about Minato’s words.

From the data, he realized that Nagasawa and Minato seemed to be close, which reminded him of some not-so-good things.

He still believed in Minato’s ability, but he felt that Minato was still too young and needed his guidance.

Seeing that Third Hokage was still hesitating, Minato said calmly, ”I, Minato, swear on my own dignity that Nagasawa is definitely capable to be the vice leader of the negotiation team.”

Seeing that the normally calm Minato is in such a high spirit, the Third Hokage stopped prying into this matter and entrusted the vice-leader position to Nagasawa.

However, the leader position was recommended by Konoha’s higher-ups, which they would vote for later.

As everyone knew, there were only five real higher-ups in Konoha, two Hokage, two advisors, and one elder.

The two consultants used to be on the same Team as the Third Hokage, so he could easily win the vote.

Therefore, this negotiation team leader was basically the same as the Third Hokage’s choice.

However, Third did not recommend any weird candidates and recommended the person who had just become the leader of the Nara Clan recently.

Nagasawa had no objection to this. When it came to the intellectual, you could always trust the people of Nara Clan.

However, Danzo actually assigned a vice team leader, which made Nagasawa a little alert.

As long as Danzo was involved, he felt that things wouldn’t go well.

Had it not for the fear that it’d leave too great of an impact, he would have directly rushed into the headquarters of Root and killed Danzo with a punch, so that he would not be able to come up with other underhanded tricks.

But if he did this, he was afraid that he would become a traitor, and he certainly wouldn’t care if it were before he was bound to Konoha.

However, now that he was bound to Konoha, increasing Konoha’s prosperity would give him a reward and increase his strength.

So he had to watch Konoha, became an influential figure in Konoha, and change it from the inside.

No matter what, Danzo was still a higher-up in Konoha.

There was no reason for him to kill Danzo directly.

But now, Nagasawa did not care too much about Danzo. After all, he had his newfound strength now. No matter what dirty trick Danzo pulled off, he would break it with one punch.

However, the impression that Danzo gave him in his previous life was so bad. If he could make difficult things for Danzo, he would be very happy.

Just as Nagasawa was thinking about how Kusagakure would retaliate against Danzo, the diplomats from Kusagakure arrived in Konoha and the two sides began their first negotiation.

In a room, Konoha and Kusagakure Shinobis sat on opposite sides of a rectangular table.

Shikaku took the lead and said, ”What Kusagakure did cause a huge loss to Konoha, and it almost causes the relationship between Land of Fire and Land of Earth to deteriorate. It also injures Konoha’s outstanding Shinobis...”

Hearing this, the Kusagakure’s negotiation team was speechless. A special Jonin and three Chunins caused a huge loss to Konoha? But in the end, they were the ones at fault. Although they wanted to complain, the leader of the negotiation team had to wait for Shikaku to finish.

After Shikaku finished listing out Kusagakure’s offenses, Kusagakure’s negotiation team leader said, ”We are very sorry for what happened. We’re willing to compensate for the loss of Konoha, hoping that we can mend our relationship.”

His intention was very simple. Stop spouting nonsense, and name your price.

Shikaku smiled and said: ”Konoha also hopes to mend our relationship with Kusagakure. We only need the Kusagakure to compensate 10 billion Ryo to make up for Konoha’s losses.”

The smile on Kusagakure’s negotiation team leader’s face disappeared. Although he knew that he could still negotiate the amount, he still wanted to curse.

It was just a trivial matter, but Konoha actually demanded 10 billion Ryo! For your information, S-Rank missions only gave one million Ryo, and those weren’t easy.

All of them were country-level secret missions, including inviting other countries to join the war.

Ten billion Ryo was equal to doing ten thousand S-rank missions. Even if they gave everything Kusagakure got, it still wouldn’t be enough.

”Kusagakure is a poor village. I’m afraid we can’t afford that amount to compensate Konoha. The most we can give is one hundred million Ryo.” Kusagakure’s negotiation team leader pleaded.

The smile on Shikaku’s face disappeared. That was not a negotiation as he simply reduced it by 99%.

”Konoha doesn’t want to ask too much, but we suffer heavy losses this time. 100 million definitely can’t make up for the loss.” Shikaku said.

Kusagakure’s negotiation team leader revealed a troubled expression and said, ”Then how about 200 million Ryo? It’s not that Kusagakure doesn’t want to make up for it, but we’re too poor.”

Can you make do with 200 million Ryo?
