I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2108: 24.369 Sixth Violet Star - Evolution

The sudden request of Nangong Rui caught everyone dumbfounded. He was pressured to revive the whole human race only in the end to wish for his and his family’s race to be changed. This means he didn’t wish to be a human anymore and instead wanted to change into a race that is different. With everyone left dumbfounded, the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness didn’t react as Nangong Rui thought in his mind. After all, this kind of wish is strange yet it wasn’t impossible to achieve.

Hei Anjing, the youngest prince of the beastmen race, asked, ”This wish is not impossible. What race do you want to change into and can you at least tell me the reason why you wanted to change your race?”

Nangong Rui didn’t answer right away, instead he turned his head and looked in the direction where the Spirit race was standing. His eyes met his beloved’s eyes, Xue Laira’s eyes. She had also smiled back at her even though Xue Laira was also shocked at first. Seeing his young lovers staring at one another, everyone immediately understood the reason for Nangong Rui’s wish. After all, spirits can exist almost forever and even for a half spirit like Xue Laira, she can most likely outlive all living humans in this world.

The God of Destruction upon seeing the interaction between Nangong Rui and Xue Laira, any further explanation is no longer needed.

”I understand now. No wonder this is your wish. But with the spirit god’s interference, it is possible for him to turn a half spirit and a human into a real spirit. Moreover you will need permission to enter his domain. The Spirit Realm is Lord Thorn’s domain after all,” said Hei Anjing, looking so entertained as if this wish was the most interesting among the other wishes.

Upon hearing this, the young couple, Nangong Rui and Xue Laira’s eyes ended up on the God of all Spirit’s figure making Lord Thorn a bit uncomfortable. Spirit God Thorn was frowning. As a father, who would like to see his carefully managed cabbage being stolen like this in his face. He wanted to make it hard for Nangong Rui at this moment only to be stopped by his wife, who is now twisting a piece of his flesh on his waist. He wanted to hiss in pain but afraid of losing his face. He can only agree and give what his daughter and wife wanted.

The God of all spirit, Thorn, said, ”I welcome you and your family to the Spirit Realm.”

Once the young couple heard about this they were immediately delighted, especially Xue Laira. After all, Nangong Rui was the man she truly likes and she also knows the difference of lifespan between a human and a spirit. Though Xue Laira can just wait for Nangong Rui’s reincarnation every generation like how the Beast God, Mo Minkong, did before Lord Huzi became a demigod. He had also watched his beloved live his life through every time. The pain of losing your beloved every generation is not a good feeling. No matter how grand it was for the other to explain that it was worth a wait. The loneliness and sadness felt within the process is extremely heartbreaking. This is a feeling Nangong Rui didn’t want Xue Laira to experience herself.

She is capable of living almost forever, Nangong Rui wanted his beloved to live forever without much heartache. After all, the younger half of Xue Laira is not something magical or loving. She had experienced what it was like to lose a mother without the existence of her father. Then be treated as a monster due to her impure bloodline as half-human and half-spirit. It was actually due to this that Nangong Rui’s original personality wasn’t that good. There is also the fact that the human noble who was said to support her before had always been bullying her. If not for the fact that Prince Hei had made her realize what it is to change, she might remain as a gloomy and always easily frightened little girl from before.

Nangong Rui was also the first human who had treated her differently despite her mixed bloodline and accepted her for who she is. Xue Laira was also the first one who didn’t look at Nangong Rui for being weak. Even before his elemental was born from his heart, Xue Laira treated him not as a failure but as a normal person. It was because of this that they fell in love with one another.

Now receiving the approval of the Spirit God Thorn’s acceptance, Nangong Rui and his father were delighted. They now collectively turned their heads to look at the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness. They were waiting for the approval from these two divinities who granted almost half a dozen wishes as a reward for fulfilling the mission he had given them.

The youngest prince of the beastmen race, Prince Hei, finally speaks. With a wave of his hand, Xue Laira and her mother, together with Nangong Rui and his parents were pulled closer to the God of Destruction. This action might be startling but even as a God, Spirit God Thorn was also caught off guard and wanted to join the group.

Hei Anjing’s voice rang in the area, ”Lord of all Spirit, don’t come over. I planned to change the race of all these five people to the Spirit Race. After that happens you will have to approve them yourself.”

{This God of all spirits, Thorn, understood and received the task from the exalted one!} Spirit God Thorn said as he saluted before the high ranking gods before all of them. {This humble little one will listen to the request of the lords!}

Xue Laira and her mother, upon understanding what was happening, were delighted. Lifespan was something they were worried about the most, especially for the Spirit God Thorn’s wife. After all, she was a mortal when she first died and also she knew how helpless she was when he was targeted by the spirit race just to force her to leave her husband. Those were the lowest state of her life and the most painful. They had just fallen in love with one another. Is it her fault that she is born human? Is it her fault that their daughter was born as a halfling? None of this was her fault.

Now upon hearing that she can change her race and be with her beloved forever, the wife of Spirit God Thorn was extremely joyous. She was crying and happy at the same time. The mother of Nangong Rui comforted her. She had longed to hear about the life of her future daughter-in-law. Even though she still hasn’t heard the story of her future in-law, the fact that a human girl falls in love with spirit and not an ordinary spirit but a Spirit God that rules the whole Spirit Domain is not a simple thing.

”Don’t cry. Everything will be alright now.” Nangong Rui’s mother comforted.

At this kind words, Xue Laira’s mother had calmed down and smiled back. ”Thank you.”

The God of Destruction finally made his move and said, ”Alright. Stop moving around and don’t crowd. You need to have distance from one another.”

”I am saying this now. Whatever element you would be reborn to would defend your affinity. This is something that cannot be changed and this is what you have in you. The element you will receive might either be ordinary or extraordinary which will also affect your standing within the Spirit Realm,” said the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness.

The Spirit God Thorn understood what the two divinities wanted to say and said, {Don’t be afraid. There are no useless elements, only useless people.}

With these words not only Nangong Rui had calmed down even his own wife and daughter had understood that the Spirit God will accept them regardless of the result.

The God of Destruction said, ”Alright. I will begin now.”

Under the summoning of the world energy, the five people were suddenly covered with it. Nature, the world, the sky, the land, the wind, the waters. All elements in existence had shook and surged towards the five people. Unknown element energy had entered their bodies. The five of them were suddenly covered with a strong energy until they were enclosed into a cocoon. This is their process of evolution and also their way of stripping their original forms. Nangong Rui’s parents and he himself seems to have affinity with seasons. Mother Nangong was surrounded by the powerful energy of the sun. It seems that she will be born as the Element that controls the season of Summer. Father Nangong had a mild power surge and his cocoon had a tint of orange and red. He might become the Elemental that controls the season of autumn. As for Nangong Rui, his cocoon looks like it was made of snow and ice. It seems he will be reborn as the elemental that controls the season of winter.

The mother of Xue Laira’s transformation is easy to guess as well. Her cocoon had a strong affinity with life and plants. Which is similar to her husband, the Spirit God, yet opposite of his as well. Hers focuses on life and healing while Lord Thorn focuses on offense, protection, punishment and death. When Spirit God Thorn saw this, he was delighted. But when he saw the glowing cocoon of his daughter he was even more dumbfounded. Her cocoon was covered in all main elements. This is the first time he had seen an elemental with this much affinity. However, this also shows that Xue Laira will become a deviant elemental who can control many elements within her grasp.
