His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1841: Chapter 527: I’ll Watch Over You

When Qin Mu woke up again, she was already lying in the hospital, and Mu Yichen was asleep by her bedside but still holding her hand.

Qin Mu didn’t make a sound, she quietly watched him for a while, then turned her head to look up, she was still on a drip.

Last night she just wanted to get a drink of water, how did she end up collapsing?

She’s not a fragile person, Qin Mu scorned her own state, her throat dry and uncomfortable, could a sip of water really cause such harm?

Qin Mu didn’t believe it at first, but now she did.

”Mu Yichen!”

Her hand moved slightly in his palm, her dry and hoarse voice called out to him.

Mu Yichen, groggy, raised his head immediately upon sensing her awakening: ”You’re awake!”

He gently placed one hand on her forehead, his eyes showed not only concern but also fatigue.

”Yes! I want some water!”

Her voice was even more hoarse, almost inaudible.

Mu Yichen quickly understood, got up to pour water for her, and then sat by her side, helping her up to drink.

Qin Mu had almost no strength, she leaned entirely on him, drinking the water with the support of his hand, then asked him: ”What time is it now?”

Mu Yichen put down the water and lifted his wrist: ”A little past five, you should sleep a bit more!”

”And what about you?”

Qin Mu asked him softly.

”I’ll stay with you, once this bag’s done, we’ll go home!”

Mu Yichen said, now that she’s awake, he felt more relaxed, speaking to her in a gentle voice.

Qin Mu had little strength, so she soon fell into a drowsy sleep again.

However, as agreed to go home together, when she awoke again, he was sleeping close to her, his forehead resting against her shoulder.

Looking at him like that, Qin Mu thought he must be exhausted too.

Time passed bit by bit, the sunlight grew stronger, Qin Mu felt as if her body gradually regained some strength, she turned around, lowering her brows to look at the man in her arms, gently stroking his hair.

Still angry inside, yet couldn’t bear to see him worn out.

She didn’t know how anxious he was last night, surely he rushed to bring her to the hospital.

She wondered if the family was frightened, feeling a bit guilty inside, but the more she thought, the more she realized she hadn’t indeed repaid the Mu Family’s debt, acting so willfully, at ease, calmly!

Actually, it’s all buried deep in the heart, just wouldn’t easily share it with others!

In a family, how can one be so cautious every day, or constantly thanking each other, even if Feng Fanghua always got angry with her, she also believed Feng Fanghua wouldn’t want to hear her say thanks three times a day.

——

At around ten in the morning, Mu Yichen drove her back, then went to work. Qin Mu stayed in the bedroom to rest, idly flipping through a book, when Feng Fanghua brought bird’s nest porridge to her room, gently knocked on the door, and without waiting for her to speak, walked to her bedside.

”Do you know you almost scared everyone to death last night?”

Feng Fanghua sat down, gently holding the bowl with one hand, and with the other, stirring the porridge, when the temperature felt right, handed it to her.

”I just wanted to get up and drink water!”

Qin Mu smiled, a bit helplessly.

”If you feel unwell, just tell us, why didn’t you tell your husband? Do you plan to never talk to him?”

Feng Fanghua always spoke her mind, and this time was no exception.

”We’re not not talking!”

Qin Mu thought for a moment and replied, she remembered they exchanged a few words, seemed to handle it quite well, seamlessly on the surface.

”Hmph! Don’t pretend in front of me, what’s in your mind, your dad and your grandpa might not see, but I sure can! I’m telling you, I can see through what you’re thinking with just one look!”

Feng Fanghua’s perceptive eyes looked at Qin Mu, particularly discerning.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but smile, she was quite convinced by her mother-in-law.

”Still smiling? Sigh! You scared us, that’s alright, but you don’t know you scared your husband to the point of losing all color in his face, as if he was the one who fell ill.”

Qin Mu didn’t laugh after hearing this and lowered her head, suddenly turning mute.

”He cares for you, I care for him, he’s my precious son, always revolving around you since childhood, after your dad passed...”

Feng Fanghua suddenly sighed, and her voice gradually faded away.

Qin Mu instinctively lifted her eyes.

”Originally, with your dad just passing, I should wait a bit before saying anything, but Mumu, look at Yichen these days, fearing you’d be upset, waking early and returning late, you can’t blame your dad’s affairs on him, it’s not his burden to bear, nor can he bear it, do you understand? That’s the feud between your dad and Mingzhu’s mom’s man, your dad passed feeling wronged, wouldn’t Yichen feel just as wronged for bearing this unfounded blame?”
