Chapter 392: Chapter 389: No One Escapes!

Beep beep beep beep.

One in the morning. The temperature in the city had already dropped to freezing. Inside the exhibition hall at the center of Shanghai City, a piercing alarm sounded.

The sound of the alarm signified that the exhibition had been attacked from inside.

”Someone’s broken in!” The Shanghai police responsible for patrolling outside quickly gathered, the crowd began to surge.

Xiao Tian and the other police officers, alerted by the noise, were just about to rush into the hall to provide support, but Xiao Tian stopped them.

Xiao Tian’s gaze fixed on the roof, and he said in a deep voice, ”If I’m not mistaken, there should be accomplices of those kidnappers on the roof. You take your men and ambush them, then regroup with us.”

”As long as I’m here, these robbers won’t walk away with a single artifact!” Xiao Tian said with full confidence.

Hearing Xiao Tian’s words, Zhang Xuan nodded. The Shanghai police present had all witnessed Xiao Tian’s capability, leaving them with no doubt.

”Let’s move, follow me!” With a wave, Zhang Xuan led a group of Shanghai police officers up to the rooftop of the venue.

-----

Compared to the outside, the inside of the venue was a scene of chaos and bloodshed. Various forces coming to Shanghai to steal the artifacts had sent their elites, using ruthless methods.

The allure of countless precious artifacts inflated their greed to the extreme. Under the surge of self-interest, anyone blocking their path was bitten down upon like a rabid dog.

A few African bandits broke through the roof, allowing a sliver of moonlight to stream in. They slid down the ropes and charged directly for the artifacts in front of them.

”Freeze!!”

A few British agents rushed to resist, advancing with electric batons and pistols, but one African bandit suddenly ducked and slid sideways. In an instant, he was right in front of the agents, and his small silenced pistol, almost the size of a pen, shot out, taking down the British agents in front without even a single scream.

”Hmph, that’s all you’ve got!” The bandits smirked triumphantly after dispatching the agents, preparing to leave immediately.

They weren’t greedy, aware of the dangers of over-indulgence, so after grabbing one or two artifacts, they bolted. Any single artifact snatched could fetch millions of US Dollars, which was more than enough for them.

Similar scenes were unfolding everywhere inside the hall. Small combat zones formed within the hall, each with British agents resisting bandits. However, the British agents were no match for the bandits, suffering heavy casualties.

Quickly, the number of British agents still able to move dwindled to merely a dozen. John Tang stood on one side of the hall, dripping with sweat, his face pale. His mind felt bombarded.

”Who the... What kind of monsters are these...”

Seeing the arrogant and brutal bandits, John Tang leaned against the wall, vomiting from distress. Even with his robust resolve, the scene of some having limbs severed was too much, making him nauseous.

John Tang would never have imagined the situation could be so dire!

Clearly, this exhibition in Shanghai was monumental worse than expected by orders of magnitude!

The current situation was that their security personnel were being slaughtered by these ruthless bandits. If this continued, not losing everyone wouldn’t be impossible.

The bandits in the hall looted artifacts greedily, yet no one could stop them. John Tang watched dumbfounded, despair written all over his face.

Soon, the bandits on the scene had divided most of the artifacts among themselves and were preparing to leave.

A few African bandits, holding the stolen artifacts proudly, grabbed the rope hanging from the venue’s roof. They shouted, ”Pull us up!”

Silence.

The African bandits had accomplices atop the roof to assist their ascent. But now, there was no response?

One bandit shouted again, ”Quick, pull us up!”

Still silent.

”Are you calling him?”

While the African bandits were bewildered, Xiao Tian’s calm voice echoed in the hall. The bandits turned to see Xiao Tian already standing at the doorway without their noticing. At his foot were two groaning Africans.

”What??” The African bandits saw their accomplices fallen at Xiao Tian’s feet, realizing their escape route was cut off, their faces turned grim, ”You found us.”

Xiao Tian waved with a smile, ”Clambering on someone’s roof? How disrespectful! And you’ve ruined the roof.”

With that, Xiao Tian’s look turned icy, ”You’ll have to pay for the damages!”

”Hmph.”

The African bandits had just taken down several British agents, brimming with arrogance and confidence. Now, looking at Xiao Tian, they sneered; their leader, Reid, pulled out a small silenced pistol, sneering, ”So what if you’ve cut off our escape? Do you really think you can stop us alone? Foolish Huaxia People, you’ll pay with your life for your stupidity!”

As Di Rui aimed his gun at Xiao Tian and pulled the trigger.

Xiao Tian moved in the next instant. With a swift dodge, Xiao Tian leapt up and vanished from sight.

Swoosh.

The silenced pistol missed its mark. With a furrowed brow, Di Rui anxiously scanned the surroundings, searching for Xiao Tian.

Boom!

Xiao Tian suddenly appeared behind Di Rui, delivering a punch that sent him tumbling to the ground.

Once Di Rui hit the ground, his comrades, bewildered, shouted as they attempted to attack, but Xiao Tian easily ducked and dodged the blows. With a few punches and kicks, Xiao Tian effortlessly dealt with the group of African bandits, retrieving the artifacts they held and returning them to the exhibition counters.

At this instant, many elites who came to seize artifacts were still moving around on the scene. Xiao Tian’s cold voice echoed through the hall, ”Tonight, no one leaves!”

Xiao Tian’s declaration was chilling, but the professionals in the hall were not easily scared. Some, seeing Xiao Tian’s prowess and knowing they couldn’t match him, placed down their artifacts, choosing to surrender, and were taken away by Zhang Xuan and others behind Xiao Tian. But these were few and far between.

Other bandits formed teams of three. They were elite members of global Dark organizations, unwilling to leave their seized artifacts behind.

After a few seconds of silence, these countless bandits, with artifacts in hand, desperately sought to flee in all directions.
